I always enjoy Brunch at Selena's. It's one of my favorite places to go.
It was a beautiful day to sit outside on the patio. A great setting to relax and enjoy good food with good friends.
I had the fish special with Parmesan Brussel sprouts & baked potato. The fish was flaky and flavorful. The brussel sprouts were some of the best I ever tasted (wish I had the recipe). My wife had the salmon with a salad ($3 uncharged) & baked potato. She said the salmon was cooked to perfection. Prices were a bit high, but the atmosphere, food & service made up for it.
Food, service, and ambience were all excellent. We choose indoor seating but had a wonderful view of the beautiful outdoor patio. One of the few restaurants quiet enough for my liking- very quiet.
Festive girl’s night out
Loved my experience here at Selenas. The food was great as usual and it was my wedding anniversary so the staff took care of us in a special way
We had great service and a nice time. Food was pretty good.
Excellent as always! We took a chance and sat outside even though rain was possible, but it was lovely!
Overall good. Atmosphere nice. Food average. Very very loud, however.
The food was great. Took our friends and it was their first time. They enjoyed it!
I normally love Selena’s, but the service was not great today. It was a Wednesday night and the restaurant was busy. I arrived about 10 minutes before my 7pm reservation at was sat at a table right away at 6:49. My 2 friends arrived a few minutes after 7. At 7:08 we still had no server, no water and no one had been to the table since the hostess who originally sat me. We had to ask some one that was bringing out food to another table to get a server for us. They guy that came over was fine, but he also seemed busy. After taking our drink order, the server that had been waiting on the 2 tables beside me the entire time, finally asked if we had been served as she just noticed us. Keep in mind she had been to the 2 tables beside us 4 or 5 times in the 20 minutes I sat there and there was no way she missed the table. The food was great, and I understand being busy, but it takes no time to acknowledge guests seated in your area and say I’ll be with you in a minute versus completely ignoring them. It will be a while until I go back. Too bad the service had to ruin what should have been a great dining experience.
On a side note the food is always amazing and IMO has the best Shrimp & Grits in Louisville!
First time dining at this restaurant. Enjoyed the chicken piccata and Bananas Foster.
My wife and I want to thank our waiter, Brett and chef Clayton for making this spontaneous dinner feel like a planned event. Can't wait to return.
Outdoor seating on a beautiful night made for a delightful evening of good food and excellent service
Selena’s is a wonderful local restaurant. Everyone except myself enjoyed their meal. I had the chicken parm. It was dry and tasteless. Needs more salt, Italian spices. Other than my meal, it was delicious and a great place to have a nice dinner.
Kevan, our waiter, was personable as well as knowledgeable. He was very upbeat. Our food was excellent and we really enjoyed the whole experience. Parking is limited but there were attendants in the lot to direct traffic which was much needed when we arrived (12:45).
Always great. Love the beignets !!! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was our first visit to Selena's and we will definitely return. The atmosphere was wonderful, the service was superior thanks to Kevan and the food was delicious. The only negative was the table of ladies sitting next to us. It seems they left their noise filters and manners at home. I am amazed at how some people can be so oblivious to their obnoxiousness. With that being said, we'll chalk it up to a one time experience and will definitely be back.
They never disappoint. Steak always cooked to perfection. Service was awesome
The ambiance was spectacular as usual. It it was very busy today. The food took awhile and the service was a bit slow. All in all a good lunch but not as good as past meals here.
The restaurant has made no effort to accommodate people with disabilities. There is no ramp in the rear, and to access the front door, you have to hope there's an open spot because there is no designated handicapped spot. Access from the parking lot requires moving through gravel, and again, no ramps or paved surface for someone using a walker. Had it not been for the stress of getting our grandmother inside, I think we all would have enjoyed the meal more. The food was pretty good.
Very very noisy. People just don’t seem to use their inside voices. Really took away from the whole experience.
Great place for brunch. Our favorite! Bloody Mary’s the best!
Selena’s is one of my favorite places. The food is always delicious and I love their patio.
Visited for Brunch. The outside area has lots of tables in the shade with beautiful surroundings. We had Beignets to start which were amazing. The Eggs Benedict is my favorite. Love the Creole Bloody Mary’s, Mimosas, and Peach Bellinis. Great value!
Food was bland. Cocktails were poorly mixed. If you’re looking for a place that is a step above Golden Corral, well step right up.
Brunch was delicious.
We did find it a little odd that other lunch items could be ordered on Saturday while brunch was going on, but those same items could not be ordered on Sunday. We will definitely be going back to try other menu items.
Portions are very large and even the biggest eaters in our group ended up taking something home for leftovers. Often leftovers are just left in the fridge, but not this time!!
Selena's was great, our server gave us great suggestions for both Brunch and Lunch. Everything was very good and the atmosphere paired with the meal was great for a Saturday afternoon.
Everyone was nice and helpful. The patio is very nice when the weather cooperates.
Awesome place, coming from Los Angeles and finding a spot like this is heaven. Love this place. Will I return? You betcha.
We had trout for the first time in a very long while & were happy with our choice. We also got stuffed mushroom caps for an appetizer. The trout was served with 2 sides & we chose slaw & red beans and rice. The combination was very good.
Service was great. Food was great.
Excellent place for a enjoyable dinner with Friends
Selena’s the best restaurant in Louisville both for food quality and value. The service is great here. We go to Selena’s at least weekly and sometimes more. Management is great.
What a meal. The medley was awesome! Drinks were good.
Always a good experience. Chicken added to large salad was dried out and looked burnt - otherwise all good.
Great crawfish & atmosphere! We’ll be back to try the brunch.
Everything was very good with the exception of the multiple dirty plates with chunks of food on the bottom. Even when we pointed it out they kept bringing more dirty ones out.
It was an awesome day so the patio was perfect. Food was good and staff was friendly.
On a typical day, Selena's is great. However, because I went during Derby weekend (and the restaurant also appeared to be prepping for a private event) food options were limited to a special Derby menu with fewer options and inflated pricing. The overall food quality on this particular visit was "just okay" and did not match the expense. Including tip, our bill was close to double what we initially expected based on the standard menu. Otherwise, the wait staff was friendly and, as always, the outside dining area provided a great atmosphere.
Fortunately, I know the pitfalls of our meal were unusual and I will visit Selena's again... but only if there isn't anything extenuating going on. And I would recommend anyone interested in dining here, especially for the first time, to do the same for the best experience!
Great food and atmosphere! The beignets alone were AMAZING!
