This restaurant does not know what it is doing. The server did not listen to our requests and food
had to be sent back. In the meantime, one of us ate without the other -not such hot food I will say. I had to inquire of the manager what happened to the redone food as it took a long time to come back. This is not exactly what I would call a a nice dinner out together. Food mediocre and service poor.
Our favorite Mexican located on the upper East Side.
I recommend the happy hour specials and everything on the menu.
Horrid service. Sound level unbearable
To be honest, the food was just bland. My boyfriend ordered the chicken quesadilla, and I, the shrimp. Both were jus cheese, and the proteins. There was no seasoning.... nothing. The worst Mexican food I have had in the city.
When I noticed the quesadilla, just had shrimp and cheese... which is far different from the menu... I asked for salsa verde, for some type of freshness. The salsa verde was, also the worst, I personally, have had. There was no spice or really much flavor to it.
Overall, I would not go back.
Good food; attentive servers; had to wait over 30 mins past the appetizers being done, before the main course was served...
We were a big party of 11 and they were able to accommodate us. We got to sit in their dining room downstairs, the host and manager were very welcoming when we arrived with our parry. They made excellent recommendations on food and wine. The service absolutely complimented the food which made our evening together with our friends very memorable.
I made this reservation a few weeks ago, making sure they were available on Christmas Day. When we arrived, the place was closed. Door locked, chairs up on tables, etc. Yet Open Table sent me a reminder half an hour before my reservation.
Luckily, there was a good French place open across the street. Very disappointed.
We loved it! Thanks so much for the wonderful margarita, fajitas, and the loveliest tres leches and flan we have had in a while!
Small Cozy place with a chill vibe. they do have a bar but we did not sit and drink. the food was delicious though, an you get quit the bang for your buck.
We love this place, but you cannot sit in the front room. So noisy, you can't hear yourself think. BUt, the back room and garden are lovely.
Good Mexican style fair served in a lively atmosphere with good
Margarita was not good at all, I couldn't not finish the drink. We ordered a Mule (ade with rim) then was told that they ran out of Ginger Beer, so no mule. The octopus tacos were way too spicy, the menu did say spicy but this was unbearable to enjoy the flavor, the octopus however was very tender. Chicken in enchiladas was dry and chicken tortilla soup was subpar. Ambiance? We had to use our cell phones to read the menu for it was way too dark to see.
However, the waiter was nice, polite and attentive, which is why I would rate this restaurant a 3.
I would not recommend this restaurant.
Food was bland and my fajita skillet was burning the inside of the oven mit on the handle so the entire place smelled of burning plastic not to mention the rice with my boyfriends enchilada came and tasted of Palmolive
Have had delivery many time and it’s consistently good. Eat in however was less impressive, Margaritas were terrible. Poorly mixed unless you want to get drunk on 2 drinks. Good traditional Tex-Mex but may want to stick to delivery.
Literally the worst dining experience ever. The waitstaff left us unattended, the guacamole was served without chips, the rice tasted like soap, the tacos had hair in them, and some of the orders came out wrong... just to name a few. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
The food was excellent but the ambiance could have been better if the restaurant weren't open to the street where there was some road works going on. Some of our guests had never eaten Mexican food before & it was a good first introduction to the cuisine, which they liked.
The only problem is that i booked through open table and when i went there they couldnt find my booking , so i blame open table not the restaurant .
The food is amazing everything is good and the prices were ok
I enjoyed all my meal & my drink was amazing !!!!
I need to come here for happy hour. Thank you for an amazing evening :)
Consistently good. Best frozen margaritas
Cozy place for everyday outings.
Terrible service and food was average.
Went there for Mother’s Day and had a great time. Happy hour all day and the food prices were very reasonable. Would definitely go back!
Mediocre Mexican food in the Upper East Side. The food wasn't bad, but it also wasn't good. It's not a good sign when the hot sauce is as mild as ketchup...Seems like this place is better suited for grabbing drinks during Happy Hour rather than having dinner. A bit too noisy for a date, but good for those who want a more energetic atmosphere.
We love it there but it’s always so loud in the back room. That’s my only complaint. The homemade veggie chips and salsa are wonderful.
Wonderful service, good food and atmosphere. the acoustic not great, therefore: a bit loud.
Food was good but the place was a madhouse. Very noisy, not what I was looking for on a Saturday night. The front area with the bar was packed and crazy and the back room felt like cafeteria dining, tables packed and noise level so loud my husband and I could not even have a conversation.
Delicious margs and tacos. Great for a date night or girls night.
The carne fajitas and chicken quesadillas were very good. Service as well was very good: courteous and attentive. All well process. A bit loud.
It was a great place overall and their margaritas are pretty strong!
Food quality seems to have gone down. I haven't been back for awhile and was excited to return. Margaritas are good but poor quality meat in the tacos and chips were stale. Off night maybe? Highly disappointed either way.
Festive and noisy but very good service (our chips bowl was refreshed often!) and good Mexican food.
I really wanted to like this place but the food was horrible. The steak in my burrito tasted boiled while the burrito wrap itself appeared old, dried out. The appetizer guacamole serving was small, containing more filler ingredients than avocado. That being said, the margaritas were good. But, that was about it.
This is a great place for authentic Mexican cuisine at a good value. Except for less than stellar service from our waiter, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a fun, south of the border meal.
I was a frequent patron of Cilantro and of Selena Rosa until my last experience. They changed their menu, prices and food quality. I was so disappointed. The vhips were soggy and the meats overcooked. They were out of many items, charged more for things without changing to price list and were slow. The quality of the food was subpar and very dry. I needed extra toppings to make it edible. I would not recommend going here until they get their stuff back together.
Not bad but not memorable either. Great service, very friendly. Would eat here again if I was in the area but wouldn't go out of my way
Great food starting with the chips, plantains, and salsa.
Boris the waiter and the rest of the crew kept us happy with vodka, more food, and filled water glasses. We will keep coming back.
I don't like noisy restaurants and despite the big parties and bar.....quite quiet for a nice conversation!
Nice size drinks and good food but waitress could have been more attentive.
