SELECT Restaurant - Greer
At SELECT we take that serious. We carefully choose every ingredient, location, menu selection, processes, wines, craft beers, hot teas, etc....to provide you, the customer, what you desire. After all, you are the entire reason we are here.
Party of 4 on a Tuesday night at 7pm. It was not busy - maybe 30% capacity. The server was very nice and attentive. The ambiance was nice and it felt cozy without feeling claustrophobic. I think they did a great job in keeping some of the elements that I liked about BIN 112.
However the food and plating choices were average and not what I'd expect for the money. I ordered the ribeye which came with mashed potatoes and a piece of green scallion cut to look fancy ($32). It was topped with a walnut garlic sherry butter which was pretty good but if you cook a ribeye the right way you don't need that. The ribeye was thin; not a typical cut size you'd typically find in this price range at other places. It was under-seasoned and it was cooked to medium rare (request was medium but this was ok as it's a ribeye). Other than that flavor was good however overall disappointing at the price point. I would have liked to have seen some sort of brussel sprout or asparagus served with this dish. The tuna plate was quite good. The grit cakes with shrimp plate was creative but fell a little flat. The spiced candied apples on the pork chop tasted like red hots but the pork chop was well cooked. The giant pretzel is $12 - I can find the same giant pretzel a couple miles away for $8.
The wine menu looked essentially like BIN 112 which came before it; not a bad thing. An ok selection of craft beers served in a hurricane style glass. The glasses were not "beer clean" so the pilsner I ordered suffered a bit from that; not as carbonated nor as aromatic as it should have been.
The food did not match expectation for this price point. However I am willing to visit a second time to try out the breakfast menu. In summary, I probably will not come back for dinner as it's either over-priced for the execution or the execution is under-whelming for the price. I gave it 3 stars but if I could it would be closer to 4 at about 3.7/3.8.
The ambiance was excellent and service was good. Our salads and appetizers (fried green tomatoes) were good; however, everyone's steak was over-cooked. I had the small filet and a numbers of the gentlemen with us had the ribeye. All were cooked medium well to well vs medium rare as ordered. Since we were with a big group and were enjoying the company and atmosphere, we did not complain or send them back, but I was disappointed in the quality of the food.
This was my 3rd visit to Select in Greer. I invited 5 friends to join me for lunch, and they all raved about the food and ambiance. It was a rainy day, and we were all in the mood for breakfast food. The omelettes, skillet meals, and quiche were all a big hit, delicious and beautifully presented. Specialty coffees are good too. The menu has an incredible array of options, so you might want to check it out online before you go. I ordered the Hippie Omelet for the second time, perfection! The service was top notch too. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.
Great food and atmosphere. Has NYC feel.
Just moved to the area and we wanted to try Select out. We were not disappointed. Service was great as was dinner. We had fried green tomatoes, prime rib and scallops. The prime rib was served as requested. The scallops were cooked just a bit over but overall very good. My wife highly recommends the expresso martini. I had the signature old fashion. It was too sweet for my taste and expensive. We will definitely return.
Great omelets and excellent service - great spot!!
Everything is awesome. Wouldn’t change a thing. I love that they have gluten free choices. Its very hard to find a good restaurant that does in Greer.
Great service and food selection
I would recommend the food . We were disappointed by the service. All the meals did not come out at the same time. Also, it would be nice to have some breadsticks or something on the table before the food comes. We were celebrating 2 birthdays. Usually desserts are free for the birthday person in other restaurants we go to. The tuna was wonderful.
Service was great! Food was delicious! The only thing that was upsetting was that I was told it was a ‘kid friendly’ but they did not have high chairs or a changing station in the bathroom, I had no place to change my babies diaper.
Our first visit to Select was a fantastic experience. Nice diverse menu and all 4 of us were very pleased with our dinner selections. Service could not have been better. Nice showing for a fairly new restaurant.
Small venue so you sit very close to your neighbors but nice atmosphere. The food was wonderful and our wait staff was excellent. We will be back.
Hen was very dry, potatoes warm and I don’t know what else was on the plate, but hard to eat. Maybe I just ordered everything wrong.
Casual atmosphere, great staff, complete menu, and open seven days a week for breakfast. A great addition to Greer.
This was my second visit, but first time for breakfast. Greer Station definitely needed a great sit down breakfast place such as this. The menu was almost perfect! Some fresh fruit sides or add-ons would make it a 5 star breakfast place. Coffee was excellent, atmosphere was on point! Although the construction outside on Trade was loud, as soon as you step into the restaurant, it was like a relaxing oasis! The service on both visits is what sets Select apart. The friendly staff is attentive and thoughtful and the chef is usually present to talk to as he takes pride in his food. I will definitely be returning for breakfast again.
Food not as warm as should be. Wife ordered smaller serving, got larger and server did not notice. Manager seem to sit with group for the time we were there. Place needs some work before we go back.
Service was excellent, our server made us feel at home and had excellent recommendations paired with a sense of humor. The staff was excellent never rushing us even when we stayed way passed closing time! Loved the BeesKnees cocktail!
Select Restaurant in Greer has become our new favorite place to go for a cozy, tasty evening out. We love the ambiance, and the food is really outstanding! I can't recommend that you should try something specific as it is all just delicious.
Fried Green Tomato starter was not to proper temperature and I sent it back and it was removed from the bill. The tuna main was delicious!!! The restaurant was very noisy but I would go back
We went on a Saturday night and it was slammed and still the customer service was fabulous and the food even better, we went back on an early Sunday evening and it was wonderfully quiet so we could really enjoy the great music, again the service was great and the food amazing!
What an incredible experience! Southern hospitality meets gourmet cuisine. Amazing wine selection, incredible menu selection, quaint ambiance... Worth the trip for sure! Can't wait to go back.
This restaurant is a little gem in Greer. It has a hip, comfortable vibe and the service is incredible. Both the front-of-the-house manager AND owner came out to talk to us, and our server was so personable. The food cane out so quickly we could hardly believe it, and it was delicious. We’ll definitely be back!
Pot roast was very good and I had a generous cocktail made to my specifications! Service couldn't be better!
Good food great date spot
Fantastic food, reasonably priced, with great service!
Wow, what a great experience! Everything was great - the drinks, the food, the dessert, the service. I had the tuna and my boyfriend had the berry filet, both were incredible. We had the cookie and ice cream dessert which was one of the best desserts we've ever had. What a great way to spend Valentine's Day! Thank you, Select. We will definitely be back!
So Valentines night was awesome...Gracie was the best sever ever...
The food was good and service was good - the table for two was the smallest I sat at in a nice restaurant. Made it difficult if not impossible to share appetizers. Also felt rushed as the main courses came out while they were clearing the appetizer dishes. If we go back we will ask for a high-top table which is larger or go elsewhere.
Good dining experience! Those who miss Bin 112 will not be disappointed.
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent wine, excellent cocktails, the music was too loud.
Good service, nice selection of dishes. Love the location.
I will have to give it another try. Being Valentines day everyone seemed to be overwhelmed. We were seated right away but were not greeted at the table for over ten minutes. The server was very apologetic and didn't realize we were seated. Very small place. Hostess came to the table to ask if we had reservations after they seated us at our table for ten minutes already which was odd as we had reservations and we were seated. Food wasn't bad but not for the price. So I will have to try again and we will order a different menu selection. Maybe try breakfast or lunch.
Solid spot for a nice date. Pleasantly surprised
...another amazing date night brought to you by the culinary artists @dineatselect112 - I had the scallops & she the Ahi tuna, then finished it off with house-made cheese cake, strawberry puree and an espresso for her & a ristretto for me - pure artistry!! #datenight #romanticdinner #justthetwoofus #beautifuldinner #foodie #foodies #amazingfood @dineatselect112 @igersgreenville @greenville360 @greenvillewordofmouth @foothillfoodietours #ios12 #iphonexsmax #iphonography #apple
The food was tastey and inventive. The reservation is quiet and eclectic. The servers were very polite and punctual.
Great place, and they have a great menu selection. You can tell the chef takes pride in the food preparation. We’ve been 4 times now.
Wonderful, friendly service.
Had a combo birthday and anniversary with several family members. Food, service, ambiance and price were great. Would highly recommend the place and will be returning there again.
First time...very good restaurant. Service was Impressive!
Need to work my way thru the menu a bit to find the right entree. Mussels were average—sandwiches were very good. Shrimp was excellent.
Ribeye was fantastic! Cooked to perfection. The fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese were fabulous. Great waitress and overall good experience.
