This was our second meal at Sel and it was phenomenally. At this price point it's not somewhere I would eat every week, but well worth price. Also since the menu changes so frequently everyone on the menus was new to us. We had the 4 course prix fixe with the wine pairing. The wine paring was great - very good matches for our choices. The service was great and very attentive. One of the best restaurants in the valley.
Outstanding service and food.
Highly recommend Sel! The first two courses tho evening were out of this world (Chilled cantaloupe soup & beef tenderloin). The other dishes were very good too. Waiter (Bradley) was great and table busser (missed his name) was highly attentive. Really top rate meal and service. Atmosphere very unpretentious given the superb food. Will definitely be back next time I am in Scottsdale.

They have an amazing menu. Amazed that they don’t have a Michelin star rating. Service is great. Staff was very knowledgeable. The food itself was so great from the cold soup to the lamb to truffles ravioli. Can’t say enough great things about this place.

It was unique and wonderful. It was a birthday dinner. Wait staff attentive but not over bearing. Noise level low enough for us to talk. Food well done with lovely presentation. We’ve added to our list of favorites.
Superb prix fixe with imaginative but remarkable combinations. The space is not large so one or two noisy patrons at the bar is enough to make it pretty loud, but worth any noise level.
Sel offers a uniquely exquisite dining experience that mixing fantastic food, with a relaxed atmosphere that would make anyone feel at home.
You can enjoy what will be one of the best meals you’ve had, while not once feeling out of place.

What a gem! The atmosphere is cozy, funky yet elegant. The service was very attentive and we did not feel rushed. We did the four course tasting menu and the courses were small but it was plenty of food. There was room for dessert. Can’t wait to return when it’s cool enough to sit on the patio.

From the moment we arrived we were pleasantly greeted, the host accommodated our request to have him take a picture of us, and we had Jessica, an outstanding server. Several other staff members came to the table to deliver food, etc. and each one was friendly and helpful. The food was excellent from the cantaloupe soup to the sea urchin to the foie gras ice cream sandwich. This place is ideal for those who love foie gras.
Great food with beautifully done wine pairing. I recommend getting the Prix Fixe 4 course dinner menu with wine pairing. The food is unique, but not strange enough to scare away the casual diner. They even have a vegetarian option. The menu changes with the season. Service has always been great. Decor could be more elegant, but I rather have them put the money into the food then the decor. One of my favorite special occasion restaurants.
Somewhat over-priced. Food is prepared wonderfully, but there isn’t much — actually, nothing — accompanying the entree orders. And the 4-course offerings seem quite expensive.
Just a first class experience. I’m already planning our next evening at Sel. Can’t wait to share this with many of our friends.
Everything was wonderful from the ambiance to the food and the service! May was so wonderful to share the story of Sel and the inspiration of the restaurant. Our waiter was very informative and definitely made our night more enjoyable with his knowledge the food and wine pairings! I would definitely go back and we did the prix fixed vegetarian menu. It’s wonderful to have a fine cuisine experience as a vegetarian! Thank you Sel!

The strawberry gazpacho soup was amazing!! And the morel mushroom noodle dish was surprisingly good too. Even my non-vegetarian husband liked it! He also really enjoyed the octopus too.

Our favorite Scottsdale place since Posh closed. Chef Brandon made 3 thins I would never order taste delicious! (Octopus, peaches and venison) Every experience is better than the last. And Bradley is a fantastic server personable, professional, knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. They definitely go a step beyond to make your dinner delightful.
Amazing food, and delightful service. Enjoyed the four courses - each perfect. Grilled watermelon salad? Yes please.
Pros: fantastic service. Wonderful and unique dishes. Gifted chef. Nice ambiance. Outdoor seating has misters. Cons: quite pricey. Small portions (if you had the 4 course offering portions were enough). If you ordered a couple of courses a la carte (as my wife did) not really enough food. We will go to this restaurant again in spite of the cons because of the very talented chef and outstanding service.
Sel is a unique dining experience nestled in a historical portion of Old Town Scottsdale. The ambiance and restaurant remind one of a European diner. The food was a blend of savory and sweet, with combinations I had never seen before. My fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed being surprised and delighted with everything.

Awesome experience. On par with Cafe Monarch food if you’re looking for alternative. It has a more layback funky vibe with excellent personalized service.
This place is beyond outstanding. Everything from the decor, food and staff is just superb. Coming from NYC my expectation are very high and this place exceeded my expectations. Each dish was carefully prepared by the chef and they made any accommodations needed. Do not miss this restaurant when visiting Scottsdale!!
Very unique restaurant with excellent tasting menu that changes every 5-6 weeks. Most of the items on the tasting menu are available a la carte so next time I go there my choice would be 2-3 things from the menu and not the whole tasting option. Wine selection was terrific as was the beer choice. Definitely recommend Sel for a special dinner or celebration event.
Food was exceptional. Scallops and Halibut were very well done and tasty! The asparagus soup was so good I wanted to order a second.
Unfortunately a tough night for the kitchen. Short staffed, our two course meal took 2 1/2 hours to serve. We were not offered dessert or coffee. So we just paid and left. Not even a thank you or good night.
We never judge on the first night. The food was too good to pass on this restaurant. We will dine here again. Hoping in the future the kitchen and service can catch up to the perfect meal!!
Food we got was excellent. However after over 2 hours we didn’t receive our entrees. We left restaurant without dinner because we had a 9:30 show to catch.
We’ve lived in Scottsdale 20 years and try to eat at the best restaurants we can find. I’d say we’ve hit the majority in town with some select favorites. My wife stumbled onto Sel during a midday walk and Brandon the chef/owner was kind enough to have a few words with her (even though they were closed). We returned a few nights ago for dinner and all I can say is wow! We each had four courses and every single dish we had was the best we’ve experienced in the valley! It was probably the best dining experience we’ve ever had! We haven’t stopped talking or telling people about it! Thank you. We will be back soon.
Chef Branden Levine exceeds himself every time we dine at Sel. The presentation is artful, the flavors explosive and the wine pairings exquisite. We are always willing to try new things he is adding to the menu - the sturgeon and the strawberry gazpacho courses on Mothers Day were a great example of his continued perfection! His wife May adds additional charm to the experience. This is the best restaurant in the Phoenix area. Don't miss trying it - and enjoy the experience!

We have been to Sel frequently. Always loved it until Friday. Two hours and thirty minutes of horrible service, lukewarm food, and excuses. While the food was fine, we were forced to wonder if the owners have lost interest. What a shame!
The food is absolutely delicious and the service is impeccable.
