Our flavors are bold but complementing. Our dishes are familiar but with a hint of something different, a flavor that is surprisingly new and wonderfully enhances an already phenomenal contemporary American dish.

My husband ordered the chefs tasting menu which was to die for, I had the lobster BLT and morel mushroom pasta also split with my husband. It was amazing! The cocktails were wonderful as well as a service
The meal and entire experience exceeded expectations even though we were already huge fans. Thank you for an extraordinary dining experience - again! ❤️🙏🏻
Most amazing food and service I have ever had. Server was knowledgeable and friendly. Worth every penny.
The meal was excellent. I loved the option of a wine pairing. Worth the money
We dined there duringr Restaurant Week and had the three course meal which was delightful and a great value. The basil panna cotta starter was unbelievable. Noticed that their new menu is less pricey than previously.
Exquisite and delicate food, prepared with design and taste in mind. The wine pairing was right on. The waiting staff was top notch, and we felt welcome and well taken care of throughout our dinner experience.
As always, our dining experience was wonderful! The food was exceptional, the staff attentive, and the relaxed atmosphere allowed for a memorable time with friends.
excellent as usual, glad they were back open and it seemed like business was good, another plus.
This is he best fixed-meal course restaurant that I've event eayen at! Bar none!!
Food was incredible and service great! We had the wine pairings which were also well explained.
Food was fantastic! Ironically, the only slight complaint was that some of the courses were a little to salty.
Excellent atmosphere and service . Food was very good except somewhat more salt than I like on entree, fish. Overall one of the best restaurants in Scottsdale. Will definitely return. Expensive but worth it.
Overall Sel was good, not great. The four course tasting menu was excellent and we had an excellent wine to go along with it. Unfortunately were Sel fell short was service. At this price point, you would expect first class service. Of our 4 courses, we had a few different people bring out the dishes, which was fine. But only 1 time did the server take the time to explain what each dish was. I would have expected them to always tell us what is in each course. And the bussers were very eager to clear our plates, usually before we were finished enjoying the course. When resetting the silverware for the next course, they didn’t bother to clear off food that was on the tablecloth. Just little things like that you expect from a fine dining restaurant.
Although the food was excellent, We left thinking there are plenty of other high end places to go before going back to Sel.
Celebrated recent engagement at Sel, from the moment we arrived the staff went above and beyond to make a memorable experience
Chef Brandon is a genius. His dishes are always exquisitely presented and culinary marvels. The beet wellington was sensational. The restaurant ambiance is lovely and of course, May Levine as the hostess is amazingly charming each time we see her. This is truly a food lover's heaven. Must get him on the James Beard list this year!
Great little upscale modern cuisine restaurant. We tried a few plates from the brunch menu. The deviled eggs were interesting and different. They were extra smooth and creamy. I had the Piri Piri chicken. It wasn't very spicy but was moist juicy and very tasty. Dessert was very smooth and nicely flavored.
Good start but seems they've work to do. Service staff could use some polish - nice folks, but things felt uncoordinated. Bit of a knowlege gap with some of the servers. Drink service took almost 20 minutes and mixology was a little underwhelming. Food came hot and generally tasty. For a restaurant called Sel I guess I should expect this but honestly the food was a little over-salted for my taste.
Some of the best food we have had in a long time!
Great experience as always. The mussel bisque was surprisingly delicious. Chef Brandon always gets me to eat and ENJOY things I would not usually order. Service is always spot on too.
Took my husband here for a celebratory dinner. We lChicago and
Definitely recommend the tasting menu. I suggest arriving a minimum of an hour before closing.
Excellent food and ambience. Our waiter was excellent although left the table often before we were done asking a question or even ordering sometimes. Maybe just a little too busy. Great experience otherwise.
My husband and I frequent really nice restaurants and I was pretty disappointed considering the price did not match the experience. Extremely overpriced!
Great food, service, and presentation. Only quibble was the price as it is quite expensive (V-day dinner plus wine for 2 more than $500 inc tax/tip)
Service was awesome. Portions were very small and while all the food had great flavor my entree was under cooked and none of the food was hot when served. Very warm but not hot
Best food in town!
We knew Sel would be very busy on Valentine's Day, so my husband and I were prepared that things might not go 100% smoothly. Unfortunately, our experience was much worse than we anticipated. Once we were seated for our reservation, it took 20 minutes for a server to greet us. It took another 20 minutes to get glasses of water. The meal was very expensive (which we knew when we made our reservation), but the food was surprisingly bad. Every course was overcooked and/or served cold, or extremely salty. Our water glasses were not refilled until we were about to leave, which was 2 hours and 45 minutes after we were seated. The service was that slow - it 2 hours and 45 minutes for dinner. The person who filled up our water glasses as we were about to leave, opened the check on the table to see how much of a tip we had left, which was rather appalling. The best part of the experience was the patio seating, which was cozy and beautiful.
Incredible food. Unique taste experience. Terrific service.
Our 4th time back. Each time is terrific. No disappointment. Tasting menu for valentine day was superb.
One of the worst food restaurants I have ever went to server was excellent food was just awful
Brandon Levine is a special chef who continually produces cuisine of renown.
Excellent experience with outdoor service by Hoke. Knowledgeable wait staff, decent wine selection and pricing. Had the 4 course prefix.
Best brunch I’ve ever eaten!
Food was outstanding. Service was uneven. Some good aspects of service, but a few big misses. For example, we ordered a bottle of wine. It was opened and sounded. Then the server disappeared with the bottle and a decanter arrived several minutes later, just in time for the second course. Also, one of the courses was presented with no silverware. Had to wait several minutes to get someone’s attention to ask for some.
The food was presented beautifully but everything was too salty, too much sauce and overpriced.
We were celebrating 2 family events, a birthday and an engagement. They treated us so well. Let us talk and enjoy our evening without rushing us. We were the first in and the last to leave. The food was delicious and so were their cocktails. We were given complimentary champagne as well. The staff were polite, informative about their menu and very good at their jobs.
Food was awesome! Best soup I have EVER eaten. Wine pairing was perfect. A really wonderful meal! Thank you!!
We were there for New Years Eve and had a fantastic meal. The only downside was the host staff seemed very flustered and disjointed in trying to get everyone seated.
My husband and I had dinner at Sel on New Year's Eve. Overall, we were not terribly impressed. Scottsdale has so many fine dining options, and we were expecting something really special. Unfortunately, while nothing was awful, overall it didn't live up to my expectations. The biggest problem was the level of service. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table despite having a reservation, and then we sat for another five minutes or so with no one coming over to our table. No water was offered, etc. Our waitress was completely charming, when we saw her. However, it appeared she had too many tables at once, and there wasn't a backup server, so there were numerous times that we were waiting for service, and no one was there to help us. Water glasses were empty at times, etc. We requested bread for the table, which we received, but no small plates were given, and the bread was quite crumbly, so the table got quite messy before the first course was even served - and no one even attempted to tidy our table cloth. In general a chain restaurant like Ruth's Chris has far better table service. Also, the alcoholic beverages were disappointing. I had two cocktails (one of which I had to wait quite awhile for) and both were under poured (glass only a little over half full) and light on alcohol. The bubbly that came with our meals wasn't served until almost the last course - which I'm sure was intentional. The food was very good, but it didn't blow me away, especially for the price point. Also, when each course was brought to our table there was no real explanation or presentation of the dish. In sum, my husband and I had far nicer meals at other restaurants while we were in Scottsdale, so the fact that Sel was supposed to be our special holiday dinner was even more disappointing. Perhaps they were just overwhelmed on New years Eve, but we will not be returning to Sel.
My boyfriend and I went for NYE dinner.
Here’s our experience in a nutshell:
15 min for someone to approach our table and take our drink order. Another 10 min for someone to bring the water. Then, the real waiting started. It took them TWO HOURS to serve our main course. My boyfriend enjoyed the filet mignon, but the duck was loaded with salt. Three times during the four course meal, the next course arrived while there were dirty dishes on the table from the previous course. Empty cocktail glasses sat for an hour on our table. After almost three hours, we got to dessert, but only after the incorrect dessert was brought to the table two times.
This place is a farce, an overpriced restaurant in a lovely section of Scottsdale, masquerading as a fine dining establishment.
