Tucked away with the Art Galleries of Main Street, this charming restaurant promises to deliver a memorable, personal and fine dining experience to its guests. Owned and operated by husband and wife, Chef Branden and May Levine, this is an intimate family-run restaurant that offers innovative, modern haute cuisine coupled with an exceptional service and delightful ambiance.

We believe that great food starts with fresh ingredients and its essence, when enhanced with the right seasoning, creates a dish that is boasting with broad and sophisticated flavors.

The service was very good, the server was very attentive but not overbearing. She was amazing and very knowledgeable. The food was exceptional. We had the tasting menu and enjoyed every course. We had a great time and will be back.

Overall the food was not what we expected from a restaurant that is supposed to be so highly rated. Disappointing is the least of adjectives to describe our experience at Sel. At $200 per person (which included wine), this was a waste of good money. Just about every dish on the Chef's four-course menu lacked taste, and the presentation of every dish was underwhelming. The only dish that excited our taste buds was the small cup of sorbet to clean the palate. Everything else was unimpressive. The first course, the beau soleil oysters, was served lukewarm and in a bowl of such heavy cream sauce you could hardly make out the oysters. The second course, the date boat scallops (or should I say scallop, since it was a single scallop cut into very thin slices) was served in a very salty brown liquid stock. The third dish was the beef tournedo, which was so tough I just cut around the edges and ate what I could. For the main course, I had the so-called "Mediterranean" seared wild stripped bass, which was completely tasteless! In fact, I questioned whether the fish was any type of sea bass period. To me it tasted more like farm-raised trout. I complained to our server, who was actually quite nice. She insisted on substituting my fish dish out for something else, as it was obvious I was not pleased. That "something else" was a bowl of lukewarm, undercooked stuffed pasta slathered in, you guessed it, more heavy cream sauce much like the oyster dish served earlier. To top everything off, for dessert we were served a store-bought sugar cookie covered in whipped cream and frozen strawberries. Needless to say we won't be coming back to Sel. Not only is it not worth the money, it is a waste of time.

Chef Brandon continues to serve the best meal in the Phoenix area. The multi-course meal is always memorable and the ambiance is always appealing. Our favorite restaurant!

This is my second time dining at SEL in the last few weeks. I am very picky about what I eat. There are no better places to dine in the Phoenix area. Sel is one of the 3-4 top in the valley. Certainly none better. Imaginative fantastic food

What a beautiful night celebrating our wedding anniversary! The Sel staff was amazing in making our dinner special. We sat at the bar - the bartender was friendly and prepared great drinks! Our waitress, Alex was super helpful and sweet. The food was delicious - we enjoyed the set menu options: Beef and Vegetarian. Both were great. We will return for sure.
