Friend’s birthday. First time experience.
Awesome food and service as usual.. this is my families go to spot for the best sushi in town. They have more than sushi of course. Even my 8 year old daughter loves to go. She loves to get the chicken teriyaki and rice!!
As always I enjoy goin to this place. Great food & even greater staff !!
Great staff and food, it’s always a fun place for any occasion!
Friendly service - very good Sushi ! Enjoyed to dine there with my wife. Will return soon.
The service wasn’t as good as normal. It took a long time to get our drinks and me and one other person didn’t get out food until 10 minutes after everyone else got theirs. No explanation as to why our food was late and no apology.
The food was superb. The service was very attentive and friendly. We will return.
We had a great time! The food was exceptional and so was the service. Huge menu with lots of variety. We will be back!
Easy to get in - didn’t need a reservation. Service was great and food was awesome.
Always my top choice for sushi in Memphis. Never disappoints. Great customer service!
Always the best!! Also, Alexa is hands down the bomb!! Miss Elizabeth too though!!
The sushi and appetizers we had were fabulous and the service was great, as always. Sekisui Midtown is always a good choice.
Although normally we would order sushi, we went to Sekisui Midtown seeking tempura, because we had a favorite Japanese restaurant we loved in Antwerp, Belgium, that served the most marvelous shrimp-and-vegetable tempura we've ever had. You can order tempura, like sushi, by the piece (two pieces), and we ordered shrimp, calamari, and sweet potato. It was not the tempura of our dreams, although it was very good -- except for the calamari, which was calamari steak that kept slipping out of its crust. The cold sake was excellent (many good selections, although why you would want hot sake in Memphis in July escapes me): Sho Chiku Bai, a reliable sake made in Berkeley, CA. Our wait person was extremely efficient (she memorized our order!) and attentive without being intrusive. The small area we were seated in (left of the entrance) was snug, but if there are loud talkers, it becomes uncomfortable.
Love this place!! We eat here all the time!!
Ate here over the 4th of July weekend, my buddy was coming in later and I had time to kill. It was only me at my table, but it took the waitress over 20 minutes to get my food order. The restaurant was somewhat busy, but not to a point where one should wait that long.
Food was amazing, when it came. Very creative rolls.
I love going to this restaurant. Always great service and food as well! Can't think of a time that I had a poor experience.
Early Bird special is great! Great assortment of sushi. Servers are attentive. Parking is a little tricky.
We love this place! The Sushi can't be beat. They have the usual rolls one expects, plus lots of great specialty rolls. And, they're happy to customize anything one dreams up.
The service is top notch, we are treated like family. We couldn't ask for anything better.
We love Sekisui! The food, servers, and atmosphere are the best!
Good food and friends
My only major complaint was with the wait time. I've been here many times before and know that there is limited space, so I had made a reservation for 2 for 7:00 PM this time. We got there right on time, and they did not have a table ready for us. We ended up waiting about 10-15 minutes for a table. It may have just been an off night, and I would still go back, it was just a little disappointing.
It was great for a Valentine's treat or intimate meal all around. The service was amazing and extremely friendly. What I did not enjoy was the non stop screaming baby at the table behind us
Sashimi was excellent, as always. Service was great.
booked an available 9:30pm table for a date and when we got there we were turned away - rudely- the explanation given?? "oh we're closed" --- but you are available on open table--- "yeah, well, we're closed."
ok thanks--never coming back.
Ordinary sushi lunch. Great price point for a party of 8. Service was adequate. No surprises here-the original go to for sushi in Memphis.
This is one of my go-to places. Sushi that is consistently tasty, fun ambiance. I recommended it!
Our food was not up to par of what it usually is. The vegetables for the salmon teriyaki were terrible. The salmon and rice were OK. The miso and clear soup are not as good as they used to be. The salad was good however. If we did not have a buy one, get one, I would have been very upset that we paid for a full meal. Very disappointing.
I really appreciated the extra attention our seever gave us while we celebrated our sons birthday!
Godzilla roll is awesome.
Love my midtown Sekisui. Food is always super fresh & staff works hard to get food and drinks in timely manner. Always a good choice!
Gnats, gnats, and more gnats. It's hard to enjoy a dinner when your table is swarmed with gnats. I'm very surprised I didn't see this in anyone's review when I reserved on Open Table. My suggestion is that you find another place for dinner.
Excellent selection, great atmosphere super service.
Very competent sushi. Friendly atmosphere. Prompt service, you can be in and out in an hour.
I've been a client for about 15 years, I'm not going back for a long time! the food was not too good, the service terrible and I had to pay 18% tip! Never again!
Delicious, as always. We had sushi, but they have delicious things other than sushi. Noodle bowls, salad, general yumminess and a huge sushi selection. Good wine list, plenty of cocktails and wonderful servers. We always love Sekisui!!
Amazing is all I can say!
You have to be a sushi lover to come here!
Elizabeth is who we always ask for! She is an amazing server and if you become a regular (which I am sure you will)
She will become more than a server.
She has become like a friend to the family!!
One of the best Asian restaurant in town.
Great dining and service! However, disappointed that the restaurant replaced the cloth napkins with brown paper napkins :-( In my opinion, it cheapens the dining experience.
We always enjoy Sekisui and this time was no exception. It does take a while to be served sushi, but the quality is consistently good as is the service.
