Always outstanding! Gutted that these guys are closing in September. Mouth watering rib eye steak accompanied by apple honeycomb salad, a nice bottle of wine, and great raspberry cake dessert.

The food was outstanding. Had the crab with black bean sauce. It was so good! Perfect amount of heat and the crab was perfectly cooked. The tomato sauce on the arancini was very good. Sad to see this restaurant shutting down next month.

We really enjoyed our meals at 2nd Set. Because we were a group of six our joined tables were rocking but our server fixed it quickly. All of the food and wine were great.

Couldn’t seat me in the restaurant when there were open tables, sat me in the hotel lobby. Dinner was really expensive, potentially not worth the price.

While the food was tasty, the service lacked; perhaps it was too close to closing? No table covering, runner, placemat, etc. so the utensils were placed directly on the table, a pet peeve of mine. Non-diners walked in - random photo shoot - large, egregiously loud scene - truly blew what little cozy vibe there was. So many choices in downtown Missoula, while Second Set was nice, probably will not go back.

The food selections, especially the salads, were interesting and not what you would find at other restaurants, which made the meal feel special. Enjoyed having the owner come out to the table and talk to us. Fun night!

The ambiance was cold and not very comfortable. Service was really forthcoming and friendly. The choices on the menu are few. But what came out of the kitchen was excellent! Wine is much too pricy. Although there are a few choices like the Chakalaka from ZA which where delicious and quite fair in price.

Was really rooting for this place to be great, but sadly could not deliver. They are in a unique location and have an interesting view and decor which we appreciated. They serve beer and wine, no liquor. So my husband and I opted for a glass of the Obsidian Cab. We ordered the apple honeycomb salad to start that didn't arrive and instead we got our entrees and had to ask for the salad - and actually, that salad was the best part of the meal. For entrees, I had the Pork Milanese and my husband the Lamb Mafaldine. The Pork was hammered! Pounded too thin, thick breading and over-fried. I couldn't cut it with the serrated steak knife they provided - it was like eating jerky/I had to rip it apart with my hands. The Lamb dish was okay per my husband. We cut the night short and went to another restaurant to enjoy dessert and after-dinner drinks.

Very interesting place located off the lobby of the old Florence Hotel so you need to wander in a ways into the building to find it. Background music was out of sync with the are deco vibe of the building, nit pick. The price point for Second Set is moderate. The pork milanese was very reminiscent of wiener schnitzel with an interesting cream sauce with greens. The Caesar salad was classically prepared with nearly a full head of romaine trimmed down. The house made dressing was perfect except there was a bit too much of it. Beer and wine only at the bar.

OMG...we were absolutely blown away by the food ,the service and overall experience. I would go back just to have the Caesar salad,but also the chicken dish and lamb were delicious. How lucky we are to have such a find in Missoula. We will go back soon.

The dining experience was excellent! It was sooo enjoyable to be in a conversation and actually hear what the other person at the table is saying without raising their voice. The food was excellent but I am allergic to Canola oil and the next day got a reaction from it. Sure wish you would switch to olive oil!

One of the worst meals which I have had in Missoula...or anywhere else. Steak was cold and tough as it had been reheated, but not fully. I returned meal for heating, and got another that was warm. Outcome: sick the next morning.

Staff was warm and friendly. The pasta dishes served were not very flavorful. The Calamari appetizer was outstanding. The Black Cherry Compote dessert was delicious. Sound is an issue as there was a table of three men who had louder voices which dominated the room until they left. And they were gracious about our inquiry of a corkage fee which was $25.

My daughter was having her birthday. We had called several favorites and couldn’t get any assistance. I decided to try my OpenTable app and had this beautiful restaurant as a choice so after the ease of solidifying my reservation we went to the website. I have never been here before but we read the menu and couldn’t wait! We were not disappointed in any aspect. From the elegant entrance and enthralling stone fireplace to the inspiring and eye catching art work among the well placed lighting and quiet ambience, we were in a dream! We had Mozarella En Carrozza, Calamari, for apps and they were both delightful. Lightly breaded and perfectly fried calamari paired with a Sauvignon Blanc was a perfect start to my Shrimp Scampi. We had the crème brûlée for dessert and wishing my daughter a Happy 13th, the evening couldn’t have been more perfect! Shout out to the pleasant servers, knowledgeable with their wines, ours gave the best recommendations AND without hesitation she saw us struggling to take a picture after dinner and offered to help! Many grateful thanks <3

Not a great meal this last time which is usually not the case. The food was lukewarm and it took forever. The owner wasn’t there so maybe they were understaffed but we usually have a great meal here. Hopefully next time it will be back to normal.
