The food was amazing. A culinary treat with hints of Asian influence and creole accents. Ask for Cory. He was fantastic and passionate about the menu. The Swordfish was perfect and moist. The Wagyu Burger stole the show—delicious.
So good. The scallops, I can't stop thinking about that dish. Please try this place.
The food was beyond delicious (we started with oysters, I had the scallops) and the drinks were equally as great. Love the vibe - not too crazy. Would definitely go again.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Delicious oysters. We had apps and drinks and very pleasantly surprised. Our first time there. We liked sitting downstairs in the bar area.
The food was really good, especially the fried oysters. But it was freezing inside and I weigh 324 pounds so I’m rarely cold! The food was delicious though. The wait staff could have been a bit more attentive and the prices were a bit high, but fantastically fresh seafood made up for any other small misses. Overall it was an excellent experience.
Food was good. Fresh. Tasty.
Only issue was the noise level. Incredibly loud. Couldn’t hear the rest of my dinner party unless we tried to yell over the other patrons. Not sure if it was unique to this one night, but did make the dining experience less than ideal.
I enjoy my experience more and more each time I go to Seaworthy. We ate upstairs in their cozy dining room. Their oysters are so delicious - I liked the ones from the east coast most this time. And their scallops. Oh my goodness their scallops. Every bite melted in my mouth. My husband’s swordfish was excellent too. Our server was perfectly attentive. Another 5 star experience eating at Seaworthy!
The food was awesome, Josiah’s service was stellar. My only complaint was the profanity-laced rap background music. Our meal would’ve been perfect had something quieter or less raucous been playing.
Great spot. Fantastic selection of oysters and great drink!
We had cocktails and appetizers. Love the holy water!
As Josephine Estelle is one of our favorite restaurants, and I had heard good things about Seaworthy's happy hour, it was so surprising to have such a bad and disappointing meal. The portions are wildly small given the price, and the combinations of flavors, especially in the entrees (the redfish with buckwheat was abrasively sour and probably the worst dish we've had at a restaurant in New Orleans) were off. I would not go back and we'll stick with the constant quality of JE in the future.
Great ambiance! Freshest seafood! Patio options! Late night happy hour! Perfect for date night! A little pricey but worth it!
Their shrimp remoulade reminds me, back as a kid, on how shrimp should taste. Their Speckled Trout will melt in your mouth. Ambience reminds of an old pub at a port I visited in my travels.
Agree with all the comments about coziness - my wife and I very much enjoyed ourselves at a happy hour/dinner but since we only share the Waygu burger, I don’t feel that I can really comment on the food
Overall, it was a great experience.
The food was fresh and the service was friendly. Will definitely go back next trip to Nola.
Would definitely recommend Seaworthy. Seaworthy has a great selection of small plates which I like. I like small plates because I can try a variety of food. My favorite was the octopus. It was super tasty. Seaworthy has pretty awesome cocktails as well.
Our food for the most part was good but not outstanding. The fresh oysters were outstanding after a correction in the count/type from the server.
I guess from the beginning I was unhappy as I had a reservation well in advance requesting a round table for
our party of 5. When we were seated it was outside which was surprising as it was mid-90s that day and we
ended up being the only party outside the entire evening. I feel a choice should have been given if the only option for a round table is outside, especially given the temp. So this clouded our dining experience.
The service was excellent with a very knowledgeable waiter who knew the menu well, and neither rushed or ignored us. The perfect balance that many can't seem to get right.
Our food was fantastic, but the portions are small compared to the prices you pay. Don't let that scared you away, though; there is plenty of items to try. Just know going in you are going to cleary pay for your tastebuds to be thoroughly entertained and the service.
The open table process at the restaurant needs immediate attention, and it was not a pleasant experience for me.
In the app, you have the option of bar seating or standard seating, but it's not entirely clear as to what the bar area is. For the record, it's a lovely oyster bar, a regular bar, and downstairs restaurant service and if you have trouble with stairs, you should choose that option. If you want to see what I ran into, try to find a picture of the bar seating area and figure out what they are talking about in the app or online.
I did what any person would do. I called the restaurant and asked about the seating areas, while on that call I was told that they didn't take open table reservations, Huh, What. I explained that the app was allowing it and it was a 1000 point feature for the night. Fast forward; I arrived, informed the hostess I had an open table reservation and received assurance I was checked in. I had drinks at the bar, cashed out and then proceed to my dinner reservation, all discussed with the hostess upon arrival. During the end of my 159.00 meal, I received an email that my dinner reservation was canceled, again, Huh, What. The waiter talked to the hostess, who spoke to the manager and ensured me the issue was corrected. It wasn't; open table customer service fixed it, and I thank them for the fast response to my emails.
Don't let my long-winded review scare you; it is a place you should try at least once, and I do plan on going back.
Not sure whether this is a hidden gem or just away from the "main drag", but this was the best dinner of our entire trip. Every bite, from apps to dessert, was amazing! Fantastic raw bar. Octopus, scallops, shrimp were all delicious. Both desserts were even great! Way to go team!
It was great. Loved the ambience.
So happy that we were recommended Seaworthy. This was the best meal we had while in Nola and we'll definitely make it a point to go next time. Great staff, amazing selection of oysters and the burger was ridiculous.
Not what we expected. VERY casual. Really cool atmosphere, with interesting decor. But the whole restaurant felt a little cramped. The food was pretty good, although our entrees were not hot. That probably had to do with our server being incredibly non-attentive. It wouldn't surprise me if the reason our food was not hot was because she forgot to get it (left it in the kitchen too long after it was ready). We waited FOREVER for the appetizers, not once did she come back to refill out water glasses, and we had to remind her numerous times about drinks we ordered. I ordered a wine to go with my fish entree WELL before the entree came out, and after reminding her a second time about the wine, she finally brought it, after I was done with my entree. The funny thing was that she didn't look overwhelmed. She just was just inattentive. Basically the only time she came to our table was to take our order and to serve the food. Just very disappointed in the service.
Also, we put in the reservation that it was a birthday, and then we even called ahead it to make sure they knew we were celebrating two birthdays. But still, no birthday candle or any acknowledgment of it being a birthday!
6:30 reservation seated on narrow balcony after passing a room of empty tables (only two parties seated upstairs). Sweltering, so husband went to request reseating. When I went to see what was taking so long, I was signaled by the hostess to stay on balcony due to a weddings ceremony in the middle of second floor restaurant. After melting through the entire ceremony alone on the balcony (husband trapped on other side of wedding) we went down and were seated at a tiny table in the bar suitable for drinks. When I complained, the waitress said we have tables upstairs you can have. Really! I hate to mention race, but could not help noticing that all the other patrons (all white) were seated at much nicer tables. We however were given two bad seats in a row. I was so angry we left without trying anything, so I cannot rate the food. Just the bad experience.
I already recommended to a friend. Very Cool spot. I'll definitely return. Thanks for making my experience wonderful!!
The food the service and the building itself amazing. The oysters are the star, and they are all phenomenal!
Visited on a Friday evening. Food was excellent but portions small (especially for the price}. Also noise was so loud we couldn’t hear our dinner conversation.
Excellent seafood.. can’t go wrong. Service was a little slow but will definitely be back..
Delicious sustainably-minded food, southern sensibility with modern take. Relaxed artsy vibe.
Alligator Cove oysters are AMAZING. So is the oyster happy hour!
Excellent place. Loved it.
We really liked the food . Very fresh and innovative. The plates were nicely presented also. But the portions were too small for the price.
Overrated, Way too Loud, Rude Wait Staff
Only a million other places to go in NOLA! Won't be a repeat or a rec
Local place, small, superb food! High energy!
Woo-e! We sure love Seaworthy.
This was our third time back! The menu changes enough to provide a new experience each time.
The service is excellent - everyone is down to earth and genuinely excited about the food. No pretention at all. Snobby waiters are the worst, especially if you have a hard time pronouncing “rillette”.
Great selection of oysters - even if you aren’t a connoisseur, you’re likely to appreciate as the staff will help ya select the ones you will enjoy the most.
Cocktails are a tad pricey (note they have a good happy hour), but worth it, in my opinion. I nervously tried the squid ink margarita, which didn’t taste much different than a really great classic margarita - just a beautiful deep black color. Witchy.
The crab claws and fries are a staple. The former a unique take on a crap appetizer. The fries which are very simple but delicious.
We also enjoyed the ceviche - which if you’re any sort of pineapple fan - is with getting. A more tropical twist on a classic. Huge octopus fan - theirs is outstanding - they souls vide so it’s extra tender.
Lastly we tried the semifredo for dessert. A light way to top off the meal.
So, yeah, recommend a hundred times over. It’s sure to please. I wish I was eating there right now.
Superb! Will return frequently!
Seaworthy is noted for its craft cocktails and they are awesome. The service was not attentive, long wait to take order, refill water. The food good. Wouldn’t make me come back.
Wonderful early dinner in the French Quarter. Loved the Shrimp and Grits.
We ordered all of the food at the same time, and unfortunately everything came at once to a tiny bar top table, before our cocktails even had a chance to make it to the table. After complaining about the fact that we got all of our food at once, the waitress’ attitude did a complete 180, and it was very obvious her distaste for us and the fact that we complained. I really wanted to like this place because the ambiance was super cool, but our waitress, the lack of understanding on timing, and the po boy were disappointing.
Cocktails, oysters, ambiance, and service was amazing! The restaurant was a bit loud and food was slightly cold and underwhelming. But, I will definitely be going back to give it another try.
