Set in a classic Creole cottage built in 1832, Seaworthy was opened by Ace Hotel with support from the team at Grand Banks. Please note that we only have stair access to our second and third floor.
Seaworthy culls inspiration from Gulf Coast waterways, the time-worn traditions of Southern hospitality and the legendary exuberance of the city of New Orleans.

Overall a decent restaurant. Food was quality fine dining. The seating and set up could be better. Inside was very cold and the tables were very small. Service was good. Would go on a date. Little pricey. Could be a lot better with better seating and furniture upgrade.
Our waitress sat us and when we asked how she was doing, she immediately told us “how busy she was.” She proceeded to provide the worst service we’ve had in New Orleans our entire trip. Preoccupied, subbed oysters on our tray that we did t approve of (nor did she ask about the substitution) we were overcharged, etc. If it weren’t for the loveliest lady collecting our tray after, who engaged us in a great discussion about the Saints, we would likely never return. Such a shame. Oysters were great but who cares if the service is so bad!
Had an enjoyable dinner with my . Reservedfor 6:30pm but not s
Service was good. Cocktails were great. Food was just okay. They were out of a lot of menu items.
Great oyster selection! The bakers dozen was a great way to try multiple kinds of oysters. All the seafood we had was delicious and portioned perfectly! Will definitely be returning!
At 62 years of age this was the worst service I have ever received. We got to the restaurant after making the reservation on a recommendation from a friend. We were seated by ourselves in a room that looked like an overflow room at a Shoneys. It got worse. The waiter was terrible. We ordered Oysters and a crab dish for an appetizer. The Oysters were good but we never got the crab dish. After we finished the Oysters we waited 15 minutes and I had had enough and removed the two plates of empty shells myself. The waiter finally came and I told him to please cancel the crab dish and he just said "I'll take it of the bill". Never apologized. Lobster Rolls were good as were the Crab Rolls. We never were offered coffee or desert just the check. I'm still mad I left the waiter $40.00 on a $220.00 bill. It's the first time I can remember leaving less that 20%. This is also the first time I've ever written a review of a restaurant. Next time I'll eat at a Lucky Dog stand before this place. I think I'd be treated better.
Happy hour with my husband. It was fantastic. Can’t wait to go again.
Cool dining room. Delicious oysters. Little pricey for entree sandwiches but the service is great and the music is good. Maybe do happy hour?
Had a great time. The Crawfish Roll was next level. Big is size and taste!
The restaurant was great, the food was really good.August the server was nice and the music was great.
Great meal, delicious drinks, great service. Will be back soon!
Our food came out in a super weird order. Entrees then app then our drink… And we didn’t even get everything we ordered.
Really enjoyed this place. Was ready to get out of the French Quarter for a night and this fit the bill. The Hostess was sweet and very accommodating. Same with our server. Oysters were fresh and delicious. Shrimp Po Boy was great as was everything else we tried (which was a large portion of the menu). Cocktails good too.
Our reservation was for 2 & they weren’t even ready to open until after 2. Very slow service and small portions, they even charge extra for bread.
Amazing service! Amazing food! Beautiful space! Will be back soon!
Another place with a”COVID” abreviated menu. The outstanding red fish on the half shell is no longer served. Very disappointing!!
Amazing oysters at a great price. Very limited wine offerings. Outstanding, friendly service
I’ve been wanting to visit Seaworthy for a long time I loved it so much I asked for another serving to go after we completed our meal! Can’t wait for my next visit!
Interior seating is upstairs which wasn’t clear on the website, and a person in the party has a knee issue, so maybe clarify where you’ll be seated if you make reservations. Outdoor seating is on the first floor. Service was slower than I like, but give additional time for them climbing up and down a narrow flight of stairs. Pea salad: tasty but I wish someone had trimmed the hard strings off the sugar snaps before placing in salad. Amberjack sandwich came with spicy slaw that was a bit overpowering for the lovely fish. Fish was fried perfectly and tasted great on its own. Fried shrimp was described as very tasty by two people but needed a bit of salt. 3 people tried the fried strawberry pie and all enjoyed it. The cheesecake was citrusy and cool and just the right size ending. Portions were not extravagant but enough. Could have used a couple degrees cooler on the AC upstairs with late afternoon sunlight coming in the windows. Moody, dusky atmosphere.
We went here when we first got to the city .... the service was poor ... maybe we just got the wrong waiter but his enthusiasm was lacking to say the least ... the food was fair but lacking ... I do not recommend this restaurant as a must try if you are visiting the city
Wonderful experience. The food was amazing especially the lobster roll. The oysters were fabulous. The service attentive was as expected. I highly recommend.
Came for the crawfish boil, but they unfortunately weren't serving it that night. We weren't disappointed long though, because the food and drinks we did get were phenomenal. We had the po' boy sandwiches and the mussels, as well as the house old-fashioned and The Holy Water. All delicious. It was very busy, so I'd highly recommend a reservation and to not try rushing through your meal.
Great service, atmosphere, and food!!! Consistently a great experience!!
Overpriced - oysters were hit or miss. Service was lacking
The food and service was excellent, I had a dozen oysters and the black grouper special. The seafood was vert fresh
Happy hour oysters are a must! Plus the combo deals. Highly recommend sitting outside in the back garden.
Excellent food, service, drinks and music
Enjoyed our selection of anumber of small plates. Food was very good. Had a nice bottle of wine and hit a perfectly comfortable evening for sitting in their courtyard for dinner.
I really love the ambience here, and it's one of the few places where you can have a conversation without the cacophony of sound bouncing off hard surfaces. we always sit on the back patio. the service is great, really nice people. Love the oysters, but the rest of our dishes were just ok. Fried shrimp- overcooked and not very many. The grouper was good. I will still return there again & again, you just need to know what to order. The mussels were very good.
Interesting seafood restaurant west of Canal Street, seafaring themeWith lots of spooky melted wax candles everywhere. Notable selection of oysters from various parts of North America, High quality.Restaurant upstairs, bar downstairs small but with plenty of personally. Great place for a date, some outside seating. I find myself continuing to go back.
Just fine. When we approached the host’s stand and said hello the employee standing there didn’t look up, then eventually said “are you waiting on the host too?” Food was okay, but service was extremely slow and it seemed like they were out of many of the items on the menu. Wouldn’t recommend.
Seaworthy is one of our favorite restaurants in New Orleans. The mussels were outstanding, the French fries the best, and the pan-seared grouper was wonderful. We don't usually have cocktails but my wife and I each had one - and they were astoundingly good - the Cry Baby and Sherman's Cup.
And for dessert we had the Japanese whiskey/Apricot brandy - it was a Wow!
Courtney was our server and she could not have been more attentive and cheerful.
Seaworthy never disappoints. The food is delicious and the ambiance is equally matched.
Based on food alone, I'd definitely want to eat at Seaworthy again--- it was spectacular! We had tasty mussels, and my husband loved his raw oysters, and I'll dream about that lobster roll. Overall though, the experience was almost comical in that odd things kept happening, sorta ruining the ambiance. We were seated at a table that was constantly being passed by staff/guests going in and out of a door. It was super annoying. Everything took forever....which I wouldn't mind if that didn't include our drinks to start. I asked if it was possible to get extra bread for my mussels (I would have paid) and the waiter said there was "slim to none chance" of that happening. Clearly, he was a bit of an amateur waiter! Still, the mussels were delicious enough that I'd go back, and maybe take along my own bread for dipping in the sauce...?! They did bring around a glass of champagne to apologize about the wait, but the waiter sort of slammed it down after asking bluntly "You want some?"
Beautiful dinner on the patio! Ambiance is amazing...food is good, but that's definitely not why you come here- it's the vibe. So good :)
First time diners and we will return. Had the warm crab dip - amazing, the fried shrimp , scallops, mussels, and bakers dozen oysters all excellent for starters and had the crawfish roll, oyster PO boy and fish sandwich which were all enjoyable
Drinks were also well prepared and our server very good
Only drawback was the noise level
There isn’t enough that I can say about this beautiful space. The selection of gulf oysters that I ordered was some of the best that I’ve ever had. While the food and ambience was no doubt a pleasure to experience, The staff here was truly incredible and attentive making this a really enjoyable dining experience. The stand out star was for sure Courtney. So energetic and attentive without being overwhelming, and really very very kind. Seaworthy is a 10 out of 10 for me
Great experience! Thank you
Thank you Erik! So glad you enjoyed Seaworthy! Hope to see you again soon!
Wow. Food was incredible!!! We had Canadian oysters and they were the best I’ve had. Service was excellent. Live music was excellent. Mocktails were some of the best I’ve ever had.
We are flattered! Thank you for spending the time to write such a love letter. Hope you come back and see us soon!
The lobster roll and the crawfish rolls were great!
Thanks so much! Come get you another one soon! Cheers!
