Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar Ratings and Reviews
I understand it was a Friday during the holidays and consequently very noisy. I thought one o'clock would beat some of the crowd. I asked to be seated by the east windows. We were seated by the south windows in the larger, noisy room. It was difficult to talk and hear :-(
I normally love this restaurant. Today it was just OK. Even the food presentation was a tad off
Great dinner as always when I fly into Seattle for client meetings. The food was fantastic and the service was spot on. I do have some negative feedback to share that related to other high end restaurants as well. During dinner at Seastar they began taking dinner plates away when some of us were still eating which is a pet peace of mind when you’re spending over $30 a plate...You would never see that in a fine dining establishment in Europe but in the US we’ve become used to it...
Excellent service and flexible accommodations for our large group. The food was first class as was the ambiance. Because our dining area had glass walls and large groups the sound level was high but not a major distraction. I plan to entertain important clients at Seastar often!
We celebrated the holidays with 7 of us. Our server was pleasant and helpful. We had the Seastar appetizer tower. Very expensive for the small amount of food. Dinner was very tasty but not exceptional. And for their prices, everything should be exceptional. Uncertain if we'd return. Very good by every measure but again, not exceptional.
I've been to this restaurant before in a casual setting and it was great. It was NOT good for the business meal we had Saturday as the service was way too slow (and the restaurant was not particularly crowded). The food was good but pricey - and not worth the value given the 2.5 hours we spent at the table.
The food and service is amazing. No issues there.
However... the ambient noise level was way too loud for dining, and reminded me much more of a trendy bar rather than a high-end restaurant. Conversation was difficult due to being drowned out by other customers.
I’ve been to Seastar several times during my travel to the Seattle area. My husband loves salmon so I decided to take him for dinner. It was just ok. The food did not seem as fresh as it has been in the past and his salmon was not cooked as he asked. Very disappointing for a very expensive dinner. Server was good.
The food was more interesting in the way it was described than in the way it tasted. My Seafood Cobb was about a "4" on a scale of one to ten. We started at 1:00 on a Friday afternoon and we were pushed to conform the server's schedule instead of our own. The ambiance was improved by the remodel but food seems somehow of lower quality than before. Just saying.
The cedar plank salmon was absolutely delicious and practically melted in my mouth. The rice that it came with, however, left much to be desired. Frankly, it was quite bland and it seemed like it was only only the plate because someone thought the dish needed a starch/grain.
We went to Seastar to celebrate my daughters 5th Birthday. Andrea was our server and made our special evening absolutely AMAZING! The good was top notch. I'm so thankful they just brought back the Thai Beef appetizer. Yum! Thank you Seastar for always being our very FAVORITE place to celebrate!
Our visit started out a bit rough as our server did not know we were her table. After 15 minutes I had to go to the front and ask them to find our server. Once that was sorted out our server went way out of her way to make up for the mistake and we had a very wonderful time and the food though a bit pricey was amazing as was of course the overall experience. Definitely will go back.
A great dining experience with professional and pleasant staff and management team. Menu options and food ingredients are outstanding. The dining room is very spacious and offers a relaxing setting and enjoyable atmosphere.
The seafood options are super impressive and possible the best in town. The bar experience is one of the best in Bellevue.
Absolutely incredible. From beginning to end my day and I were nothing short of impressed. The mood, ambience, food, drinks, service, etc. everything was top notch. Not to mention the little truffles they give you that melt in your mouth at the end of your meal. Nice little touch. I would absolutely recommend.
They have sooo much to choose from it can be a little overwhelming at first. We will definitely be back!
The seafood is excellent here- the remodel looked real nice. Excellent service and great appetizers too. It is expensive, so be ready for that. One thing that we thought was cheap was they asked if we wanted bread, and we said yes. Later, saw they charged 4 dollars for the bread. Have not seen that before, and they didn't used to do that. Their bread basket was not as good as it used to be either.... Anyway, we had a great time and it was worth the splurge.
I used to love Seastar, but they just remodeled and their prices went up about 20-25%. It was my birthday and the server convinced me to get a dessert so she could put a candle on it. In the end they also charged me $7 for my two scoops of ice cream. overall, the food is good, but the bump in prices is annoying.
It was my husband's 59th birthday that we were sharing with 4 friends and it was perfect. We were seated at the furthest corner from the entry, which was perfect because we can sometimes get loud (Irish Catholics, etc.). Christa was our server and she was absolutely fabulous throughout the entire evening. Everyone had something dinner ranging from the lobster tail to poke bowl to small plates of steamers, crab cakes & scallops. There wasn't a disappointing dish among the group. And our wine server was very good and directed us to the order in which we should drink the wines we brought. All in all it was a wonderful evening that I look forward to enjoying again at Seastar.
My family and I celebrated Thanksgiving a week early at Seastar. I'm glad we did. I would take fantastic seafood over turkey any day. We had a variety of sushi, oysters, salmon, and lobster. It was expensive but I knew that going in. One of the best meals I've had. This is the one to beat.
Normally, Seastar is a favorite, but the service for a Sunday night was very poor. We waited 20 minutes for help on the wine list and only got help because of complaints. Not sue if it was because of restaurant week or not, but not a great experience during this visit.
