Seastar in Bellevue is a fancy seafood place where you should be using a corporate card.
Great service and lovely seafood. Hot and sour soup was superb.
Never disappointed. Highly recommend for most any occasion.
Food and services was amazing.. a must try
This is the 3rd time for my family to dine here.
Food remains great, however, not as good as before. More negatively, the seafood tower is much more expensive than before. Very disappointed.
Service remains top notch, absolutely live it.
Overall bill is on the expensive side $$.
Would only visit again maybe 1-2 years later.
Standard seafood, nothing special,
small portions. Service and ambiance were very good.
Great food, as always! This is my favorite seafood place In Bellevue.
We had the most beautiful anniversary dinner. They topped it off with some sublime truffles! Yum!!!
Ive been here a number of times and have had great experiences. However, this time was very disappointing. My wife and I came for restaurant week. My appetizer, described as seared ahi tune, consisted of 3 slices of cucumber, with the tiniest bit of tuna. Not even enough to taste. My meal (the trout), was flavorless, and about half the size of a normal entree. After the meal I came home and had to make myself a PB&J, as our $100 meal didn't come close to providing enough food. That being said, the service was prompt and professional. I will come back at some point, but def not for restaurant week, and not for some time.
We signed up for a reservation for Thursday, 4/12/18 to take advantage of the Seattle Restaurant Week promotion at one of our favorite restaurants that we typically only go to for special occasions. Open Table sent out a promo email encouraging us to take advantage of the Restaurant Week deals. I clicked on their link, chose a time for the reservation, and we came to the restaurant at 6:30 THURSDAY night. The hostess looked on her computer and couldn't find us. Then she found us....on Friday night. Not our mistake - my confirmation said Thursday, but somehow Open Table screwed up. Thankfully, Seastar managed to fit us in and we sat in the bar where we had a delightful server and delicious food. But it could have been a disaster if Seastar didn't recover so nicely from Open Table's screw up.
Seastar is a must during Seattle Restaurant Week. They have a great selection of choices and just the right proportions. If its been a long time since you last visited the Seattle Restaurant Week is a perfect excuse to go again.
Whether SeaStar is the best seafood restaurant in the Seattle area or not will always be a topic of debate. Whether it will be in the discussion is an absolute given. The food preparation and presentation was suberb, the kitchen handled my request to make the halibut in the fashion of the swordfish was executed perfectly. The appetizer tower was halved (only 2 at our table) and I would recommend it strongly.
And then there's the wine list. Picked as the best in country for 2017 by Wine Enthusiast, it is likewise extraordinary. As I was trying to make the case for Washington wines a syrah from Betz and a grenache from Au Maurice more than sufficed.
And then dessert. The truffles came 6 to the serving. 4 of them came home, as 2 were more than ample. The chocolate volcano cake disappeared completely.
If you haven't made the trip to Bellevue to visit SeaStar, do you. If you have, you know youll be back.
Gathered with 9 of my girl friends. We all thought the food was delicious!!! The service was excellent and the atmosphere is great!
My husband and I went for an impromptu date night. The service was great! I cannot eat onions and they accommodated me without complaint when my entree arrived with red onions that were not listed as part of the dish on the menu. I ordered the crudo plate and the fish was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the hot and sour soup as well! My husband got the ahi entree and was also very pleased. For those reading reviews trying to decide with budget in mind—I will say it is on the pricey side. I was not disappointed fir the price, but do be prepared to spend over 100 for two at dinner. We’ll definitely be back for another date night!
Prices are gone up way too much. They have started charging for bread which is ridiculous and portions are very small - not worth any more
Great fish, as always! I love a place where you can depend on greatness. Professional level service in an environment where you can hear each other talk. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not quiet, but it’s not crazy loud like some places. It looks like they’ve remodeled - gorgeous! We will definitely be back.
Have dined here a few times now. But finally concluded that Seastar is significantly overpriced. The food is good but there are dozens of fantastic places with similarly good food. The service is good but not extraordinary. There’s an air of pretentiousness to the place that is completely unjustified. I doubt I will go back.
Another outstanding meal at Seastar. Went for Restaurant Week because they have the largest selection of any restaurant participating. Great food, great service and great value. That's a winning combination.
always great food and terrific service. I would recommend to anyone who loves great food and a very nice atmosphere.
Wonderful dinner. Had the black cod appetizer...perfectly buttery, though perhaps a bit pricey for the amount you get. Ahi tuna was rare and silky. The King salmon was perfection, though I did ask for it rare as opposed to the med rare the waiter suggested. Great service, only missing a water view!
As a group of 10, we were really well taken care of. The entire experience was flawless.
The service, drinks and appetizers (including the seafood tower) were excellent. Our server recommended the steelhead w ancho rub and sauce. The fish was DROWNED in a soupy sauce. It was unnecessary. Just a dollop would do but it detracted from me tasting the actual fish. I was disappointed.
Amazing food and great service. Expensive but worth every cent!
Service was attentive. They even moved us to a quieter spot when a loud group sat down next to us.
Exceptional service and great seafood. We'll be back again.
For a place that charged $44 for a piece of salmon, I would have expected it to at least be wild-caught. I was very disappointed in this decision, especially here in the Seattle area. The flavors were only ok. This place was highly recommended, and it did not live up to what was expected. I most likely would not visit again.
This place is the gem ! Delishious food, always fresh, scrumptious dessert, amazing selection of wines , service is outstanding and friendly athmosphere! One of the best places in Bellevue as well as in the greater Seattle area! Come and experience yourself!
This place is always great, the food never disappoints. Just make sure they validate for parking or it quickly adds up. Always a great place for just ap's or dinner!
Enjoyed the bar...food was great...restaurant was kind of “big, open and noisy”?..
Service was great!
I've been to this restaurant quite a few times and every time the food is excellent.
We have had consistently excellent meals here for years, which makes our experience recently concerning. We brought friends from out of town and a standby favorite— the Steelhead- was undistinguished as was the pasta of the day which was watery and bland. My wife’s shrimp arrived cold— very uncharacteristic of Seastar. Service was impeccable, first rate sommelier and server. We have always admired the success of this restaurant at serving quality dishes with flavor that is distinctive. Here’s to hoping we were just unlucky and that nothing has truly changed here for the worse.
Very nice business dinner. Service was good. Food was excellent
Excellent food with impeccable service. Definitely a splurge.
Our party of four had seafood dishes for lunch, including tuna, rockfish, and trout. All were very well conceived and presented. Each person thoroughly enjoyed the lunch.
I've eaten here twice and the fish has been amazing. The wait staff is always polite and attentive. Great experiences.
Like the remodel and enjoy a place where you can hear your table partner talk- one of the few places quiet enough to have a business meeting
Really great food and very expensive. Be prepared to spend a lot of money.
Always consistent with food and service. Nice remodel. We were there on a Saturday night. It was quite noisy and busy. It’d be fantastic to be to have a bit more privacy/ambience/quiet areas in the large dining area. Wishful thinking I know! Other than that it’s one of our favorites. Kudos to the staff and the chefs.
Haven't been since the remodel and the new menu. As great as we remember it.
Past customer, disappointed this time, prices higher, menu selection besides sushi was sparce,
had to send one dish back to be warmed, petrale sole was overly browned, $4 for a few pieces of bread, outrageous!!
Birthday dinner and no birthday dessert as in the past.
My review is that the restaurant is expensive mediocrity.
Too many other choices of restaurants on the Eastside.
First visit . Noise level was very high. Food was very good apart from cauliflower and blue cheese.
Wine waiter was on point.
