The place was closed. First, they confirmed my reservation and when I came they were almost closed, they even didn't allow us to have a drink while we were waiting for a taxi. Maybe there are tasty( now I can only guess) but the service really bad.
Went for an anniversary and was excited for some good seafood. Even though I knew what prices were going to be still a bit alarming to open the menu and see an 8 oz glass or basic wine for $18. The looking at the food and seeing nothing under $49 going all the way up to $165 for a NY strip steak. Just crazy no matter how it’s prepared. Ended up getting the salmon. Shrimp ceasar salad and clams. All was delicious but nothing to flip out over. I will say the waitress was super nice and knowledgeable. She recommended the bourbon butterscotch creme brûlée and boy was she right it was delicious. All said and done I think it’s a solid 4 but definitely over priced. Our tab came to $175
Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback, and the positive review. We always appreciate feedback from our guests, it is one of the ways we make decisions on what needs to improve at our restaurants. I'm sorry that you felt the restaurant was over priced. We try to do our best to offer a range of pricing that will fit all guests needs, one that provides value. That is why we offer a 4 fl. oz pour or an 8 fl. oz pour for wines by the glass this allows us to provide range and allows guests to try many different wines. The usual wine pour at a restaurant is 5 fl. oz's, years ago we moved to the 4 fl. oz or 8 fl. oz option as it is easy for guests to equate those pours to 1/2 cup or 1 full cup. We currently have 4 fl. oz options from $5-$11.50, and 8 fl. oz pours from $12 - $24. Just as an FYI, an 8 fl. oz pour is the equivalent of 31% of a bottle approximately 1/3rd of the bottle. Two and one-half years ago, right after our remodel we chose to add the "Tastes" section, to offer more range with some small plates. This section offers sixteen different items priced from $10-$16 for soup to salad to $15-$37, the $37 being the brown butter lobster roll. A full page of menu offerings from our Raw Bar range from $7-$25 (32 offerings at this time), with an Omakase Platter for $63. The entree section has offerings from $28-$58 (11 of which are at $49 or less) then we offer a 14 oz wt. New York Striploin Steak for $68, a Filet Mignon and Lobster for $87, King Crab Merus for $90, and then The Japanese "A5" Full Blood Wagyu New York Striploin Steak for $135, I believe this last choice may have been mistaken for a regular New York Striploin Steak, the $135 for the 6oz A5 Wagyu Steak is actually a very fair price. I believe that you may have misread the price on this steak as it is $135 and the closest price on the menu to the $165 New York Striploin Steak that you mention in the review. We are always working to be better and its guests like your self that help us discover where we can be better. Thank you again for your feedback. Sincerely, Chef John Howie
The food was very good, and the service was outstanding. We were a large party, and the staff did an excellent job taking care of us. We will definitely return to Seastar.
Great place, always very fresh fish and excellent flavor.
The food at Seastar is fantastic. This was the first time I had ever had swordfish where it just melts in your mouth. Not a disappointing dinner with my husband. Service as always was great.
Cool spot in Bellevue, but you certainly pay for it. Food prices are really high and alcohol prices even higher.
The food and service are great, the only thing holding this restaurant back from being 5 stars in the pricing.....oh and also the noise. It is a very loud restaurant.
Seastar is a fantastic place for dinner. Although I am not a seafood person, everyone in our party of ten loved the seafood towers - we had a few of the different ones offered. The meals were all delicious, no complaints from any of our party. And as the person always trying to find the non-seafood option, Seastar had a nice variety of options for me. The steak I had was amazing, cooked beautifully, and did not disappoint. Great venue and we were very well cared for by the team.
Seastar is where we go to celebrate important occasions and we've never been disappointed.
Great atmosphere and food is amazing. Will come back again.
Food was good as usual, but very put off by the 20% service charge that is added to the bill, but not given to the service staff. We were a group of eight. Service was good, but not excellent as it has been in the past. I think we will look elsewhere to hold department events in the future.
Best place to dine when you want really great food!
Good Japanese-inspired food, good cocktails. However, a little bit expensive.
Had a wonderful dinner and great service great restaurant enjoyed our evening
always have a good meal at your restaurant.
I always order a martini with blue cheese stuffed olives and have never been charged extra for them. Now you are charging an extra amount per olive- I think that this is ridiculous especially when we are already paying a very nice amount to eat at your restaurant!
The Ahi Tuna entree was not only delicious, but spectacular in presentation.
Start with their Hot & Sour soup. I would live in their kitchen to have that daily. Mahi- Mahi we ate twice that week. As we (party of 8) all agreed to go back a second night.
The service was amazing. The setting was perfect and the food was better than I could of imagined. Even shared coconut cream pie. Will be back soon
Love Seastar. I’m never disappointed here. Food, ambiance and service are excellent.
We went to celebrate my sister’s Birthday. Several years earlier we threw my mother’s 70th birthday party there and thoroughly enjoyed everything. The food this time was just average — very disappointing.
I have visited your restaurant for many years and I believe it is great.
What I don’t lie or appreciate is the fact that “ gratuity” is added to the total of the bill, even for a table of three. You can’t call it gratuity is you add it to the total, that is a Sevices charge! I personally took it as a message that “I am not trusted as a costumer to leave what you have decided, not me, what is the right amount for a tip.
The service was great, my complaint is about your policy.
Fantastic birthday meal. We were quickly seated and offered drinks. Menu choices were outstanding and food was delicious. Great service and a free birthday dessert!
Beautiful place, discovered a new wine, great staff and really exceptional meal. Thank you
Food was incredible!
Wonderful place making this my go to for a good night out
Food was great but service was very slow
Everything was delicious. I'm just picking, but there were some shells in the first of the 3 crab cakes. But other than that, everything was absolutely delicious!!
Wonderful food. Fabulous service on a crazy Valentine’s Day. They just know how to work it and deliver amazing food and service every time
The food was outstanding, unfortunately the service was, once again, subpar. We were there to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Two examples of poor service: 1) we asked for bread when our first drinks were delivered. We had to remind our wait person over 20 minutes later. It was finally delivered about the same time as our entrees arrived. 2) our entrees were delivered while our appetizer plates were still in front of us.
Regretfully (because the food has always been very good) we will not be going back. This is the third time in a row that service was an issue.
Usually our great go to place for an outstanding meal. This time we are disappointed. The automatic service fee that is now attached is also taxed. Not at all sure how much of this goes to the server. We did leave extra cash for the server as he did a great job. (Hopefully he got to keep 100% of that) The food - I’m not going to say great. Salmon was an incredibly small piece and way over cooked. Ahi was outstanding as was the poke we had for a starter. We will go back - but most likely only for happy hour.
GREAT food and GREAT service!!!!
Ambiance and seating location was good. No full set of silverware on the table, only a fork, no salt and pepper. Waiter was drooling while taking our order. Food was not that great. Over-rated restaurant.
