    Scallops were perfectly done, salmon lacked flavor, venison was excellent - shouldn’t come w chips, whipped potatoes and caramelized onions. Baked peaches disappointing. No Wi-Fi, important for travelers.

    Something special, the quality of the food was exceptional. Service was very good, except the assistant who served the food and plonked the desert menu down was a bit lacking in service skills. It was so good that I recommended it to a friend who booked it immediately.

    Our booking was at 19.15 and by that time on a Saturday the restaurant was full. It is a long, low-ceilinged room and is under-illuminated. Flickering candle lights do not create enough light to see food and enjoy it. The room was hot. We accepted a table in the shop part at the entrance, where these problems do not apply. There is a reason why this fairly unprepossessing room should be full, bearing in mind that it only opens two days a week: the cooking is wonderful. We would love to eat there again and this is why. All ingredients are carefully sourced, attributed and handled with the greatest care by a very experienced chef. He loves to cook and it shows in the temperature, presentation and above all, taste of every dish. Service is efficient, wines are decent, but this place is about food.

    Delicious food with an emphasis on local producers. The pork was outstanding and the black pudding amazing! The mackerel pate was very good and there was a tempting array of desserts (we were tempted!) The famous soda bread lived up to expectations too. Our hostess and our waitress were efficient and very pleasant and we felt welcomed. A lovely evening and highly recommended.

    We were given a friendly welcome even though we arrived a bit early and we were given a choice of seating. The menu, whilst not extensive, offers plenty of choice with interesting selections of local produce. The service was prompt and attentive, the atmosphere was homely with touches of luxury such as the wine selections which made you feel you were somewhere s bit special. The food was lovely and good to know they support local producers .

    We liked the restaurant. We liked it a lot! Seasons does justice to great locally sourced and in season ingredients which are then cooked brilliantly. What great plates of food we had. We didn’t have dessert as we were too full but our starters and mains were fab. If you get the chance, go. We’re only sorry we don’t live locally.

    A lovely restaurant, lovely people who don’t just witter on about ‘local and seasonal’.They believe in it and deliver in a big way with a short, perhaps even perfect menu of,we’ll, everything. That includes local beers and gins (superb Selkirk gin), the wine list and of corse the all important food. Simply excellent and all beautifully presented.

    We ordered a glass of red wine and a little bottle, can’t remember the exact word in English, of white wine, but got a glass of white and a bottle of red. Didn’t tell the waitress. That causes the four stars.

    Great use of local produce, well presented and very tasty. Service is excellent - friendly, helpful, informative and not pushy! Seasons is an enterprise based on love of food and respect for local suppliers, and empathy with customers. Good wine list too.

    Seasons is a long established lovely restaurant with excellent front of house service with extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. The chef Rodger has a strong emphasis on using local producers and consistently provides very good quality imaginative cooking of a high standard. It is our favourite restaurant in the Scottish Borders and would thoroughly recommend a visit to this small friendly restaurant. They are only open Friday Saturday and Sunday but best to check website. They also provide some ready to cook meals at home along with breads, chutneys bakery and deserts which can be ordered on line. All these dishes are of a high standard.

    G 7 T'S Were excellent and the food delicious. We had three main courses within the group and the amount of food was just right. Cheese board good and tried one of the deserts Wine nice Room a little chilly but all in all a good night

    The restaurant was cold , we kept our winter scarfs and top layer on. Lighting was so bad you could hardly see any colour of the food on the plate. My meat dish was cooked O.K. What is perceived to be a Mitchelin star restaurant it was very poor. We had 3 courses and were in and out within 1 hour. All in all not what I expected

    We have eaten at Seasons several times and found the meals to be very good. The service is excellent and friendly. The food is very good and the menu changes monthly giving a good degree of variety. Dininitely worth a try.
