Seasons - Davis
Seasons serves Contemporary American cuisine. High quality, local foods are prepared simply and the menu reflects the seasons. Guests may dine at the full bar or private dining room, which houses the restaurant's wine collection.
Seasons is the perfect location to stop and enjoy lunch or dinner!!!
Seasons in Davis, CA reopened a few months ago after a complete remodel and succeeded in providing a much updated look. At the outset they struggled a bit to gain their culinary footing. However, a group of three of us on Feb 22, 2020 decided to forego traditional ordering and instead everyone ordered off the app side with only one main for sharing. It was a type of type of tapas experience that I would highly recommend. We enjoyed a small oven fired mushroom pizza that was excellent, crab cakes, pork belly, and potato gnocchi, all enjoyed with a bottle of Gundlach Bundschu red, that was excellent, and topped off with one apple crisp and one bread pudding, both of which were excellent. The restaurant has come a long away since the reopening, as evidence by the full crowd.
Just a very nice fine dining experience in Davis. Worth a visit.
The food was good, the waiter and staff were good. If you’ve been to a great restaurant and had great food before, this place is unremarkable. Better off spend your money at a cafe or other family run restaurant and get twice the food at half the cost. This place is overpriced for the serving size although the food tasted very good.
Good service. Potato leek seafood soup was delicious. I had the brisket that was tender enough to eat with just a fork. Desert was really good too!
Second time my friend and I have been here. Food is always good. We both had the Cobb salad with crab cakes. A bit pricey for salads ($22) so maybe one crab cake??? We were stuffed. 2 Chardonnay's to chose from... We had the Crane Lake. Very tasty. There were only a few other diners so it was very quiet (Thursday at Noon). The decor of the restaurant is very well done!! Over all we enjoyed and will return!
Absolutely loved this place; came for brunch and I am excited to go back! Food was delicious [pork-belly breakfast sandwich, yum!], the staff was beyond friendly and I feel like I left with a few decorating ideas for my home.
I really like servers that are on top of the menu as well as the bar and wine choices. Jordon was impressive in that way. He was very knowledgeable and able to answer our questions and offer suggestions.
For some reason, we have gone to the movies across the street but had not tried the restaurant, probably because it looks like part o\f the hotel (it sort of is). But we decided to try it and were very pleased. The service was outstanding, food was excellent and fairly priced. The waiter was very attentive and even the bar tender came out to talk because my wife was curious about how her drink was made.
We'll definitely go back.
Loved most everything. Two parties in our group had steak and very underdone and tough.
Food has improved over the past several months. But the prices are outrageous! NOT A GOOD VALUE.
Best food we’ve had in Davis. Pork chop is spectacular, mushroom truffle soup was a must-have, Bert salad light and delicious. Would definitely go again and recommend it to friends.
We went to Seasons for dinner before a concert at the Mondavi Center. Nice place, convenient with a casually sophisticated ambiance. The wait staff was excellent and entrees were reasonably priced. Food was very good. I had the bolognese and really enjoyed it. My husband had the pork chop and was very pleased. All in all a great date restaurant. I will definitely return on our next night out at the theater.
Don’t understand why they ask if your celebrating a special occasion, when they don’t even acknowledge it. When I made the reservation I had said it was my husband’s birthday and I wanted a special dessert for him.
Service was so so, my beef sandwich was dry and it was just a over priced lunch.
Do not go here if your celebrating anything they don’t care.
Excellent, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Good service. Food acceptable, not great. Incredibly loud atmosphere would probably prevent us from returning.
Slow service, restaurant poorly stocked, bad experience overall. This is not a well-managed operation. They were “out of” two menu items on the already limited menu—30 minutes after the restaurant opened, with only one other customer in the house. The pepper grinder on the table was empty. The celery in the Bloody Marys was brown. Kind of shocking for an upscale, pricey place.
We used to eat there often under the old ownership. I don’t think we’ll be back.
We enjoyed a wonderful New Years Eve dinner. Each course had multiple options that were more interesting and creative than menus at other area restaurants. The food was delicious and matched well with the wine pairings. We especially enjoyed the inventive "Paella" Croquette. The individual flavors of ingredients came through and complemented each other very well. The Gnocchi was pillowy soft and also a flavor standout. A great meal!
Good service! Expensive but then again it was New Year’s Eve.
Dinner for four with friends from another city. Our “usual place” closed. Had a wonderful server and bus boy. Very attentive and friendly. Had the bottle of Cooperville Pinot and a cheese plate. Was good but would have liked to know what the items were? Someone other than our server delivered. Two rib eyes, pork chop and I had just squash soup and wedge. Soup was a bit thin and the spoon was ridiculously small. Salad was perfect, egg, bacon dressing...Steaks had good flavor, but grisly. The bowl full of onions underneath was not very appetizing and I didn’t get that? Pork chop good. The dudes again pretty skimpy. Desserts- bread pudding and butterscotch pudding. Both quite nice.
Had reservations - disappointed in the table we received.
We arrived right when the restaurant opened and unfortunately when we went to order, there were 4 items not available, steak, wine selection, breadsticks, etc. pretty bummed for a special
Night out. Also, a bit too chilly in the restaurant.
Three things on the menu they didn’t have and there was no apology nor adjustments to accommodate. We arrived when the doors opened and there was no mention they had ran out of the flat iron until we ordered. The manager would not adjust the price for the rib eye to accommodate and overall the food was not impressive. The waitress response was “ don’t shoot the messenger”.
Was there a year ago and definitely not the same quality of food or service. Will probably not go again.
We were pleasantly pleased with our first visit to Seasons since their renovation. We will definitely be returning.
Great service and food, comfortable setting.
Seasons does not disappoint -- whether it is ambiance, decor, service or food. My friends and I had a lovely meal this Sunday for lunch.
Food excellent so is the service. It’s a but pricey but the noise level is so bad we went outside to talk. We could not hear each other yelling across the table. They DEFINITELY need some ceiling baffles to dampen down the noise levels.
Great for groups. Friendly service!
Our waiter was outstanding. But everything else was very ordinary. It has no upscale bourbon whatsoever. And the wine selections by the glass were very limited and unimpressive. The menu is limited unless you like pasta, and the food was really not very good.
Excellent service from the moment we stepped in the door. The wait staff is knowledgeable and was helpful finding a delicious vegan option for my teenage daughter. The handcrafted cocktails were stellar and we enjoyed every course. We will definitely dine here again when visiting Davis.
I had the butternut squash soup and wedge salad for lunch! I enjoyed them both! I will be back soon!
Seasons was a unexpected pleasant surprise, dining experience was spot on, food, service and ambiance. I recommend to locals and travelers a like. Maybe not a college student spot, but definitely a great place to take your student when visiting them at school. Enjoy!!
HI, We came for 1pm reservation. The restaurant and patio were empty except one more table occupied inside by 2 people. In the room it was a party going on. The waiter took our order and we waited 40 min before our appetizer arrived with explanation from the waiter that party order came up first and they will serve everyone at the party before serving us. Excuse me? with empty restaurant? what are you guys do when you have more visitors? do they wait 2 hours on the Caprise salad? not even a salad but poorly cut tomatoes with small squeeze of a cheese above? The appetizer was awful in presentation and taste for 15 dollars. The main dishes (salmon and hamburger) were better. Funny but waiter did not even ask how we want our steak to be done when taking orders until i reminded her that probably she wants to know it before kitchen starts preparing the steak?
Poor service, we were mostly ignored. Limited non seafood choices. my dining companion does not eat seafood and lunch choices very limited with that restriction. one chicken and one vegetarian option for her. I asked three times to have the background music turned down, it never was. Food was ok, not memorable.
Seasons is one of three upscale restaurants in Davis. The food, wine and service are always very good.
We were headed to an event at the Mondavi and made reservations on the recommendation of a friend for 6PM. Due to heavier than expected traffic, we were running late. Called the restaurant to see if we could bump the res by 15 minutes...we were told no and so we canceled our reservations. After thinking a bit, we called back to see if perhaps bar seating might be available...spoke with a different person who said, no worries, we'll honor your reservation and bar seating not necessary...so points lost for canceling out of hand, points back for then making it work for us.
Food was very tasty, as were cocktails, even though my friend was served a drink she didn't order. Jack and ginger ale became Maker's Mark over ice, no ginger ale.
Only real shortcoming was that despite the restaurant being somewhat less crowded than I would expect for a Friday evening, our service was very, very slow. Our server after greeting us and taking our beverage orders, disappeared and it was a while before drinks were delivered and then another while before someone came to take our meal orders and only after we gotten up and asked where our server had vanished to. Others who had arrived after us were already eating by the time our orders had been taken.
Off-menu flatbread was the best ever! I loved the thinly sliced potatoes and carmelized onions! We also enjoyed the pasta Norma and the pescatore.
What a great meal!
I love this restaurant and have visited it several times since the remodel. This time everything was excellent as usual, except it seemed like the two waitresses kind of dropped the ball between them. I had to ask to refill my water, then my ice tea. The restaurant was not busy, but either one was not paying attention to us. I had the hamburger, and it was one of the best Ive ever had, and my wife had the breakfast eggs toast etc. and she said it was excellent.
Took a long time to get served, despite fact there weren’t many customers there (45 minutes!) My friend’s Salmon was well presented but Salmon was undercooked! Would be nice if Season serves bread while you wait. Would I recommend? Overall, Yes!
The new Seasons is great. The staff was welcoming and helpful, the atmosphere was nice, and the food very good.
Great meal! We ordered three different entrees and shared. Super waitstaff - knowledgeable, respectful, helpful. Very special evening.
