Searsucker embodies the social dining experience by encouraging guests to come early and stay late.
Inspired by the simplicity, relaxed and feel-good vibe of the seersucker fabric, Chef Brian Malarkey created a space that invites patrons to relax and enjoy. The airy design features a glass-enclosed kitchen, koi pond, a lounge space with comfortable seating and a two lively bar areas. Patrons can watch the action, chat without boundaries and feel as if they’re at a friend’s dinner party rather than a restaurant.
Menus are both serious and fun, with creative twists on New American Classics. Dishes range from shared plates and small bites ideal for the whole table, to farm and ocean dishes that you’ll want to keep all to yourself.

We made a last minute reservation. The place was very slow on the Sunday we dined. Servers were good, friendly and attentive. We found the open doors in 52 degrees a pain in terms of wearing fleece to dine indoors. The food was a bit salty and average. Drinks and wine came quick. Cocktails were good.
Saved my SDRW cheat meal for Searsucker. I had my eyes set on the burger and duck fat fries and am 100% satisfied with my decision. Burger was cooked perfectly with a soft, fresh bun and delicious crispy fries! Staff was super attentive and nice, from hostess to my server John and everyone who kept my water filled and table clean! One of the best services I have ever had. It was somewhat empty on an early Sunday night; wish they could relocate to Encinitas!!
one of my favorite restaurants for good comfort american food! It has a contemporary spin on how they represent their food and cocktails witch is so good for cute Instagram pictures!
Great service, not rushed or overwhelmingly nice.. I love their Jar appetizer options Poke is one of my faves. LOVEE shrimp and grits dish to share and charcuterie is very generous perfect for a group dinner.

After having a wonderful experience at the Vegas restaurant for dinner, I came with high hopes for lunch at the Del Mar location. My friend and I were disappointed. We ordered the soup, salad and half sandwich combo. The tomato soup was so acidic we had to order sides of sour cream to cut it. The salad was a mound of lettuce leaves drenched in dressing. The half hummus veggie sandwich had no flavor. Don't know if I'd come back as this was the healthiest option for lunch.
Went there to celebrate 20 yr. Anniversary and my birthday. Just the 2 of us. Huge, loud group of soccer girls celebrating was deafening! Went outside, better, but the service was so awful they comped our drinks and appetizer. Beer poured all over in warm glass. Never made it to dinner. Last year we had a wonderful experience there. Never going back. What happened? So bummed!
I wanted to love this place. I'm guessing it was just an off night as reviews and press have been great.
We had an 8pm reservation for two. Showed up at 8:04. Seemed to be confusion as to where to put us honestly as they wanted to put us outside where it was nearly 90 degrees and humid. Upon sitting, I asked to move inside which was accommodated.
All was fine really but honestly I felt like we were been rushed to turn a table quicker - which was confusing as the restaurant was probably at 35-40% occupancy.
The food, in general was pretty good. A little bland and covered up with salt, but well prepared and creative. We had the short ribs, the chicken, burrata jar, focaccia, and the Caesar. All equally prepared and pretty good.
Honestly, where the meal fell short was the rush factor. Our server asked me if I'd like a second cocktail - I said probably in a few. He snaked my 70% complete drink off table and scurried off. That's a major foul in my book and really prevented us from ordering multiple rounds, and desert. I travel all over and am blessed to enjoy fine dining regularly - this kind of service usually comes from management and is not customer friendly.
Aside from that, my only other complaint would be that upon getting the check I notice a 3% surcharge that states it's due to the states wage system. This is the first time I've seen this and frankly would rather them just raise their prices - guests understand. But to sneak it into the tab as if they were Verizon Wireless is kinda tacky.
Will probably give it another shot someday, but we could receive impeccable service, food, and value better at Jakes or the Brig.
The pork belly sandwich was fabulous but the french fries were way too salty. My friend's salad was a little wilted and the steak on top was overcooked even though she asked for rare. Ambience kind of boring for what would normally be a busy lunch time. Very few tables filled inside and those were all crammed together (I guess for server convenience) but it was very unpleasant. I felt like people were on top of you with the majority of the restaurant tables empty and when 3 very active/noisy toddlers were seated next to us it became almost unbearable as they ran around their table banging into our chairs. I had been to Searsucker before many months ago and I feel that it is not as good as before.
Service seemed very "corporate." All in all not a very authentic or genuine vibe to this establishment. My steak was cooked perfectly and enjoyable, but the entire meal was over valued and not in touch with the price points presented.
First-time visitors, at least with this brand, we enjoyed the ambiance except for the glare projected on our table from the parking lot. The brunch options were fabulous, with our party opting for an eclectic mix of meals. All were well prepared and well received. Service from John was exceptional, very attentive while not overbearing. We'll definitely be back.
Came here for a family dinner. They have really spicy wings on their menu that aren't even marked as spicy. I can handle spicy food and these were too spicy for me. Too spicy to be enjoyable. My dad ordered them not knowing they would be spicy. No markers on the menu to indicate that. Additionally, two of our side we ordered never came and were eventually given dessert items for free to compensate for them never coming. They also forgot to bring water which wasn't fun when I was trying to eat these crazy spicy wings. Then they took 10% off the bill. Overall not a great experience and I'm not sure I'll be coming back. The overall bill was quite high at about $40 per person even with 10% off and free desserts which makes this an even less attractive place to come back to.
The food was wonderful! Unfortunately the waitress made a mistake and brought one of us the completely wrong entree. It took quite a long time to bring the correct one. I guess everyone makes mistakes once in awhile. So, I will definitely go back and would still recommend this restaurant.
This was my first time dining at Searsucker. I have dined, in the past, when this was Burlap. I was expecting the same type of food quality and ambiance. We ordered the Shrimp Cocktail, and it was great - full of shrimp! I ordered the chicken. It was so salty, I couldn't finish it. The rest of our food was ok.
Held a small business lunch there. The outside seating was great on the sunny, warm day. They let us use the table by itself next to the pond area. Interesting decor, a varied menu, large portions, food freshness, and attentive service made it a positive experience.
We were celebrating a birthday brunch as a group of women. The food was delectable. We all enjoyed our food. The service was wonderful. Our server, Daniel made sure that we were well taken care of. He was professional, cheerful and attentive. We will be back!
