Searsucker Downtown San Diego
Frequently changing COVID-19 governmental mandates and operational restrictions coupled with restricted tourism and uncertain business volumes in the Gaslamp Quarter has resulted in being unable to continue our regular restaurant service for the foreseeable future.
Please continue to check our websites and social media for updates.

This isn’t the same seersuckers that we have come know and love. The menu is not great. The food quality is bad to fair. I would say wait till corona is over before you go... sorry to say, and I’d love to support them but you really aren’t getting any back for that support. Service is good though
Only 6 tables were open and we felt ignored by service. Menu was boring but food tasted okay. Disappointed being a "top chef" restaurant. I have been to many of the contestants restaurants and this was the worst. Go across the street to barley mash. Amazing there.
Brunette hostess less than welcoming. Waiter great! Food VERY mediocre. Though not the fault of the restaurant, 70% of gaslamp visitors not wearing masks and walking close to all tables. Would not return.
Medium rare steak was well done. Luckily the meat was still tender. Short ribs were delicious. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but the service was not great and to overcook a fillet that badly is not excusable. I didn’t even bother complaining because my server was hard to get any attention from and mostly inept anyway. I’m hopefully chalking this up to COVID stress on workers but don’t really plan to return with so many other options available.
We regret to hear that you were not fully satisfied with your experience. We have passed your notes along to our management team and we hope we get the chance to welcome you back.
I love this place. And support it 💯 during these difficult times but the menu is limited, you have to sit outside (no their fault) but the martinis were not the same ... not sure who’s bartendinf back there bc I used to think they had the best martini in town! Hope it picks back up after this meaa
Hi there! Thank you for leaving your feedback. We are disappointed to learn that you did not completely enjoy your experience. We have passed your notes along to our team and look forward to welcoming you back.
They are keeping capacity down and keeping it sanitized well. Food and drinks were great!
Thank you Rosie, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience!
Menu was limited to "bar food" and not the experience we had hoped. Drinks were good
Great place, friendly staff. Food was tasty. Would eat there again
Drinks and food were way overpriced and the food wasn’t good.
Food was good. Service was perfunctory. Very loud.
While Searsucker is always a fun place ambiance wise and we had good service - the food was adequate. The portions were small in most cases and we were going to order desert but the desert options were limited and did not entice anyone. So I know a few people left still a little hungry. And for what we paid - it wasn't worth it. So if Brunch is your thing - try someplace else.
The food and service was very good. However, thought it was pretty pricey.
Arrived early, restaurant was empty, yet the hostess was difficult to get a regulars table versus a high top as I requested in original reservation.
Two of us ordered the NY strip and it was very tough, we both only ate half.
The appetizer meatballs were good, the sashimi was very tasty and my husband had the sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert which was different than what I was used to.
For being there early and restaurant empty, I would have expected our server to be available and around for drinks.
A beautiful experience!
Soup was cold and Cesar salad good, cocktail drink boring.
Absolutely amazing experience. The service was prompt and the food was delicious. We were in awe. Thank you!!
This used to be one of our favorites, but has made a change for the bad with a different menu. We miss the old searsucker. The food was bland. Change in ownership from what we understand and the menu for all of the locations is now the same.
OK place for a birthday dinner, Nice ambiance but the food was just Ok
Misha and Will took very good care of us! Thanks
Great service, great food
We arrived about 20 minutes early but they were able to seat us right away, so that was nice. Overall the service was mediocre. We ordered the charcuterie and were rushed because our table wasn’t big enough to fit our appetizer and entrees. The quality of the food was good but lacked flavor. Overall not impressed.
No servers started me off with water, even after the second time the bar manager saw me (after 20 minutes by now) he said he will get someone to serve me. Terrible. Food options are lame and boring. Had too much hope this place would be better than the other bars around, but not the case.
Always enjoy this place. This time the only issue was that the salmon I ordered was odd shaped and had a few bones. Our waiter asked how everything was, I mentioned the issue and my salmon was replaced with another fresh, hot, normal shaped and boneless piece!!
Great food, wonderful service, cool room at an ideal location. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
It was a fine breakfast, but they were out of multiple things I tried to order (it was only 12:45pm on a regular weekend brunch day). Their online menu does not match the weekend menu and we were disappointed to not get to try most of the things that peaked our interest online (shrimp and grits, cinnamon rolls, biscuits and gravy). We had some people order the bottomless mimosa but the service was so slow that it was kind of becoming a waste. It wasn't even that busy so we didn't fully understand the hold up. I ended up having the green eggs and ham and it was fine, but nothing to write home about. Overall a really awesome ambiance and great music, would love to give them a try again with a smaller group but honestly I doubt I'll feel inclined to go back.
We were fortunate enough to sit with Sabrina who literally stole the show. Great experience and fantastic food! Mark Chandler
great food - our server was pretty slow - took a long time to get the check and it was not busy at ALL
Food was bad. Really bad. It was empty and so loud. Service was below average. Haven’t been in a long time and won’t go back.
I remember it being absolutely amazing....I was disappointed this go. It was ok. Not amazing.
Visiting from east coast, great food and atmosphere!
We had a great time having monthly meet up at sear suckers. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating.
This place on the weekend is NOT a dinner place but was like a thumping nightclub that serves dinner. We found ourselves screaming at each other because the music was so loud and pounding like a nightclub. The food was delicious but eating in that kind of environment is awful. It’s not a cheap place So to have this kind of experience is not worth it. Try a week day instead as it might be better.
Excelente servicio, buena cocina, un buen ambiente
Food was good but took forever and when served was cold. We would have sent it back, but we couldn’t find our waiter to do it.
Short ribs was very salty not much flavor. Waiter kept coming to our table with the wrong food.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We made a change with our short rib demi recipe as we also found it was salty. We are sorry that your experience was poor and will work with our culinary and service teams to make improvements. Thank you taking the time to share your feedback.
A fun atmosphere. Initially sat us close to a noisy large table but happily moved us when requested. Squash soup was creamy and delicious. Caesar salad was plain and definitely not delicious. My wife had the Salmon which was tender and tasty, if a bit skimpy. I had Calamari which was okay, if a bit greasy. With a single wine, over $100 which is okay but a little on the high side. Overall pretty good, particularly for gas lamp which ends to be so-so.
Loved the atmosphere and the 80s music
Great service, fun atmosphere, live music and good food!
The entire service and management were so warm and welcoming! The food was fresh and tasteful. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Searsucker to others for a business lunch!
Went for our 20th Wedding Anniversary and pretty bummed about the food. The chicken tasted oddly like duck and was really salty...so much so, I ended up not eating it! Although the server and staff were very attentive, they weren’t very friendly...like you could tell he just didn’t wanna be there. We’ve been there before and enjoyed it, but this time it wasn’t so great.
