    Awful experience. The service was painfully slow and everyone we interacted with was noticeably inexperienced and didn’t know what they were doing. We were seated 20 minutes before anyone came to our table. We brought our own wine because the restaurant only has local wine which isn’t what my husband and I like to drink with steak. We ordered the oysters with uni and we’re told by our server she would have to check to see if they had uni that day but never followed up with us and the oysters just arrived at our table with no uni. For our main course my husband and I each got a ribeye and split the winter salad. For $95 per steak I expect my mind to be blown or at least to enjoy it. The steak was AWFUL. The cut was terrible, wasn’t cooked to right temperature, all fat, terrible seasoning, and presentation was awful. And for $95 all you get is a steak on a plate, no sides, nothing. We barely touched them and when our server asked how everything was we said it was terrible. I’ve worked in plenty of fine dining restaurants back in the day and if a customer ever showed any signs of being unsatisfied I was trained to alert the owner or manager who would then see what they can do to remedy the situation. Nothing. No apology, comp or anything. The best part of the meal was the free brownie Sunday our server gave us in celebration of it being our first date night since having a baby. That, and the wine we brought with us. The music was also bizarre to say the least, such a random smattering of music styles and at one point the music turned off completely. Very weird vibe. Really disappointed as my husband and I are local and would be back often if the food and service were good. Sadly both were way below par and ridiculously overpriced. Will not be back.

    Very disappointed with our diner reservation at Sear Steakhouse ! Terrible Service took more than a Hour to get our food ! My Husband ordered a Double Cut pork chop and when we finally got our diner…. We both looked at his dish ..? This is not a pork chop … we asked the waiter and he said it’s probably a tenderloin !! Terrible ! My Filet was cold. Everything was a disaster ! We ordered a Bone Marrow and it’s was so dry ! Can’t say anything good about our experience at Sear Steakhouse !! We didn’t eat any of our dinner. Really don’t understand how this restaurant has 4 1/2 stars?? The manager knew that everything was a disaster and comped us for the meal.

    This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Our server, Marcus, was friendly and attentive. The filet was cooked absolutely perfectly, the mushroom risotto was amazing, and the service was excellent. The sides & salads are big enough for 2-3 people to share. This will definitely be my go-to place when I’m in town.

    My girlfriend and I were seated in an enclosed patio which was very loud and very cold. Everyone was wearing jackets. We asked for an indoor table and the hostess said there were none available yet three other parties behind us were seated inside. We both ordered the filet and the waiter didn't ask us how we wanted them cooked or what type of topping we wanted. I finally told him I wanted mine rare. When delivered, mine was medium rare at minimum. Both of us thought our filets were mediocre and way overpriced for what we got.

    The steak was good, but their prices have gone up 20%, and no longer worth the price. One steak, sides (as they are not included), appetizer, and wine was over $300. Won't be back.

    Shelly was probably the best waitress my wife and I have ever had. She made my one year anniversary of being married super special. She is the definition of going above and beyond. I hope the owner sees this review and gives her a raise. The food was amazing. Everything was delicious. Definitely recommend the bone marrow. The two sides were delicious as well. The risotto and the green beans. The filet mignon was cooked to a perfect medium rare. It melted in our mouths.

    The shrimp cocktail was salty over spiced, the shrimper mushy the beef Wellington was overcooked and dry. They offered us A desert desert came out, burnt and dry. It was a bread pudding. My last experience there was amazing. I don’t know what happened if they have a new chef, but I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone in the future.

    We had a wonderful dinner at this steak and seafood restaurant. The staff is very friendly and efficient, and food is wonderful. I had the NY Prime steak with mushrooms (wonderfully seasoned) and blue cheese. It was very tender, cooked as I requested and served hot (I do not like luke warm food). My wife had the salmon and it was also cooked as requested and very tasty. The cauliflower appetizer is the best fried cauliflower we have had anywhere. My wife also like the brussel sprouts. The Key Lime pie is one of the best I have experienced. I highly recommend this restaurant.

    Great food. Horrible service. Used open table to reserve valentines dinner 2 weeks in advance and wouldn’t move our tables when there were other open tables and ours was in an undesirable location. Waitress was gouging and when she realized we wouldn’t buy alcohol, she didn’t care for our order. Asked for medium steak and potatoes with no Parmesan and we received a rare steak with the Parmesan sitting on top of the potatoes. Won’t suggest coming here.

    I don't even know where to begin. My husband and I had one of the most memorable experiences at Sear Steakhouse on our babymoon this past weekend. Our server, Shalee exceeded our expectations in every way. She made our night even more special than we ever could imagine. Not to mention, the food was absolutely excellent—the best in Solvang if you are looking for a more upscale dining experience. Shalee went above and beyond to help us celebrate our soon-to-be first child and just made the night something I think my husband and I will cherish forever. It's silly to think a dinner can be that special, but it really was and we will definitely be back! :-)

    Second time I have been to Sear. I have made reservations both times. I have never seen a restaurant out of food more in my life. How does a steakhouse have 6 steak items on menu and be out of 4. We each ordered a baked potato. They had 1 potato left in the restaurant. They also have a very weak beer selection compared to most restaurants. My first visit was during the holidays and I dismissed the lack of food and rushed service due to that. This time I realized that this is an ongoing problem. Unfortunately this will be my last visit to Sear. Going back to Brothers Red Barn for steak when I come to the coast.

    I was a bit disappointed with Sear. I let them know we were celebrating our wedding anniversary which went on deaf ears. My seat was wet, we didn’t get out side of French fries, the port chop was beyond spicy which was not mentioned on the menu. Just not a pleasant evening for the amount they charge

    Definitely an experience to never forget! From the food, drinks, to the service. I visited Sear Steakhouse with a few of our girlfriends to celebrate a birthday and we were all very satisfied with everything. I ordered the Rack of Lamb (mid rare) which was soft and full of flavor… it was cooked to perfection. I was impressed with the side salad as I am not a big fan of pomegranate and berries, but it was so delicious. It was crispy, light, and not too sweet, the nuts added a great mix to it! I ordered a bottle of their Pino Noir to go along and it was the perfect match! I was definitely happy with my choice! Hope to come back to visit soon!

    We went during restaurant week and it was average. Cold overdone steak and burnt potatoes, tiny portions. Service was also sub par. The atmosphere was nice. The wine was good.

    Amazing dinner! The filet was divine...the Bernaise complimented beautifully and the salads and orzo risotto were wonderful! Our server, Marcus, made the evening so fun!

    We had an excellent experience at Sear and I’m bummed I just now finally went. We must have come on the perfect weekend because they are usually booked, but I was able to get a last minute reservation. We ordered oysters, the tomahawk, rock fish, scallops, brussel sprouts, mushrooms and cauliflower. It was ALL delicious! The steak was perfectly cooked and flavorful and the fish was really flavorful too. The sides truly complemented the meal. Service was really great. I really liked the vibe of the restaurant. The meal was pricey but definitely worth it for the occasion.

    Wonderful meal and wonderful service. First time dining since the change of ownership and I was impressed! Our server Shalee was bubbly and kind. She was so easy to talk to and we appreciated her time!

    Having come multiple times now, as a local I can say this is my favorite spot in Solvang for brunch! Every dish is thoroughly enjoyable - complex enough to keep you intrigued bite after bite but also simple enough to still exude ultimate comfort. On top of that the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is cozy.

    We live in Orange County and have access to amazing food quality. This is a nice upscale steak restaurant. Prime rib was first served medium well but server quickly fixed it to medium rare as ordered. Price was reasonable for $50 plus mashed and green beans. The $95 ribeye was only pretty good, I’ve had better many places and so we give that a 8/10. Brussel Sprouts and Crab Cakes were excellent. Loved the ambiance. Service was excellent. I forgot his name but made our night even more entertaining.

    Did not live up to its full potential. Staff was very sweet but food did not come out timely or accurately. It was a very quiet time; there were maybe 3 other tables. This could really be a top restaurant if they dialed it in a bit more.

    Wife’s birthday dinner. Was very nice and enjoyable. Only wish was that we could have gotten our bread or something to munch on while we waited. Our reservation was for 6:30pm, got seated around 6:45pm, asked waitress if they offered any bread or something while we wait to get our order taken. Got our bread at 7:45pm. Was starving by the time we got bread, and ravenous by the time we got our appetizer 20 minutes later. But overall experience was good.

    I made sure I had a reservation. We were so excited to eat at Sear Steakhouse that we skipped lunch. We drove three hrs to get there for dinner from So Cal area. Upon arrival, we noticed the party at the front table (entrance) they were eating a big nice fish where the meat would fall off the bone very nicely. We decided we would order the same as we asked out waiter about the front table. We placed our order. Not the first time dinning at Sear Steakhouse. Our party of three had just said, we plan to make this restaurant part of our dinning tradition from now on. Next, we noticed our order took a while to get. Maybe 25 min or 35 min. We had to remind the waiter of our order. Me and other members of my party cook/fry and grill fish on a regular basis back home so we know what to expect. When the waiter brought our fish it looked tiny and the color was off. You could see from one side of the fish to the other side it was that bad. It was so overcooked that parts of the fish were missing completely. The fish was super hard and extra brittle and burned / crunchy. The color: dark brown and it was hard to peel any part of the fish. I don't know a restaurant, one I though highly of to bring a plate like this to our table. We said we can't accept this fish. I don't think cooked fish is their specialty, def try a different plate if you go there. The fish in the front table looked great for 120$ but ours,.. no possible way. Our party thought it was some kind of joke. They told us the kitchen was closing. We all left very hungry and we were definitely not pleased with this kind of customer service. we visited Sears Steakhouse on Dec 30th 2022.

    Not too bad. Very over priced for what you are getting. I had the filet and it was ok. My wife had the short rib and it was great. Service was ok. Greeted well but our server just seemed mad or maybe just wasn’t feeling it. This what made the meal really not worth it to me. I am willing to spend a little more if there was a total package and it just wasn’t from food, to service to cost.

    We’ve been here multiple times and always had a wonderful experience. The hostess is super kind as always. We go to our seats, and our server (who didn’t even tell us his name or introduce himself) just used a tone that sounded like he was really tired and didn’t really feel like he wanted to be there. We ordered, and waited for our food, when the server helping the couple next to us started talking to the couple and telling them about the specials and menu items that our server never mentioned. So we felt gypped, and felt like maybe he didn’t think we could afford it so why bother. Then when we got our food, our whipped potatoes had no salt/flavor, the filet mignon was over cooked and chewy, our server checked on us maybe twice the whole time before we got the check. But at that point, we wanted this experience to be over so we just paid the $200 check and left to get dessert elsewhere. Threw the box of leftover food out. Very disappointed in this establishment. Will not be returning.

    A disappointing experience from the hostess, to several waiters who knew nothing of their menu, to the beef Wellington? Burnt, and the owners condescending attitude. Yes It’s a tourist destination, hoped for better after 42 years of traveling through. My recommendation, pick up a sandwich from subway.
