We ordered a mixed drink, cod, and a serloin. The food was incredible. Our server was so kind and helpful. Drinks were never empty and even brought more bread when he saw we finished ours.

Very pleasant experience, with special service. Admittedly they were not busy at the time of our visit --- but still --- our waiter was knowledgeable of the menu and offered great suggestions. Filet cooked exactly as ordered, with flavor and texture as you would expect. All food was delivered in proper stages and timely. Based on this experience, I'm happy to recommend and will undoubtedly return whenever in the area.

I have eaten at many steakhouses. I ordered the 6oz filet, It was a bit tough the first 2 cuts but then was very good. The bread and the dipping sauce was great but you are given only a few small slices. The highlight is that they gave me dessert because it was my birthday. But the problems I ordered a "sweet blend wine" and it tasted like vinegar. I returned it but was charged the 12,00 anyway. At best this steak was the same quality that you buy at the grocery store and would be on par with Chili's restaurant. Chilis does not have Filet but their 10 oz sirloin is about 23.00. The Ribeye is 21.00. I paid 38.00 for the filet. So over priced and a decent meal but you may be better going to another place if youo want to save money

We were very impressed by Sear. It was our 1st time there and loved the atmosphere and service. Our waitress was very helpful, thorough, and friendly! The filet was cooked to perfection! We loved the French onion soup and the Summer pasta dish was absolutely fantastic. The drinks were well crafted. We cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our meal there!! Thank you Sear!!

The food was just okay. Very disappointed overall in the steaks. They were all overcooked and cold. Could have sent them back but our server Maddie was so sweet and we did not want to wait any longer. Many other reviews also talk about overcooked meat so probably they need to figure out a better way of cooking steaks. The Buffalo wings were very good! Not sure I would go back as the food was not worth the price.

This was our 2nd visit to Sear and, while the first visit was great, they managed to get even better! The food was fabulous and the service was incredible. One of our family members suffers from dementia and can be a challenge to serve, but the team at Sear did an amazing job being friendly, caring, and understanding. Well done!

This is the second time I have visited the Sear since the remodel and opening. The filet was done exactly like I like it. The salad and baked potato were good, and the cookie for dessert was just great! I feel that this is one of the best steak houses in Rapid City.

Average, nothing special about the meal at all. Onion rings very very greasy but tasted good. The cheese dipping sauce was not good The bread was unremarkable. Steak seasoned well but slightly undercooked. Overall disappointing dining experience.

The bestSear bone in rib eye I’ve ever tasted. The server had us cut into it to ensure medium rare. Exciting to get seared flavor and red meat! We got scallop appetizer and onion ring appetizer. Simple things like sauces on the plate or to dip were absolutely divine. Chop salad and garden salad fresh and crunchy. Salad dressing home made and the Seared cherry tomatoes on the wedge salad we’re bursting with flavor. This restaurant is fine dining. The flavor explosion is the experience we wanted and got! The tables in the bar area were very nice so we ate there and enjoyed that ambience. The draft beer selection is excellent and freezing cold. We can’t wait to return. We had another full meal from our take home box and that was superb reheated at home. The open table app gave us an immediate reservation. Easy and convenient. We ate at 630 on a Saturday to start our evening. The service was professional and not pushy. We are returning soon to a relaxing environment at Sear.

Highly recommend the scallops and salmon! All the food was perfect proportions! Phenomenal! Maddie and Shelby were our servers and were the BEST we have ever had for service. It’s a great option for Rapid and will definitely go back!

Excellent service and welcoming staff. The meal was just okay. I ordered the Miso Cod it was salty and over cooked. My husband had a steak it was cooked perfectly to order. We tried the cheese cake which was delicious. We would dine here again- just wouldn’t order the cod.

In a good steakhouse, I prefers sides, especially vegetables with less ... everything. They all seemed to either be wrapped in something or covered with fatty sauces. Brusslesprouts would have been great simply roasted and seasoned, maybe a bit of parm shredded on top. Asparagus wrapped in salty prosciutto, truffle fries with a lumpy sauce that cooled off quickly.... less can be more

Great people, nice atmosphere and music. I loved the ceaser salad, but both our steaks were overcooked, my wife got comped, but we expected more, there are plenty of steakhouses in Rapid City to choose from.

My salmon was good but when the description says it comes with a side of asperagus they mean 2 pieces - not a side. The steak was good but there wasn't anything special about it that set it apart from other places. Not sure the mashed potatoes that automatically come with the salmon and cod were real. All in all, I like what they have done with the inside. Our meal was good but the next time we go out I am not sure this place will be the one that comes to mind. We had the cod and the salmon and two drinks and it was $89.

A “steakhouse” should be able to cook a steak to the customers request without fail. I ordered mine medium rare, it came out well done. I sent it back and the next one came out rare. My wife ordered hers medium and it came out medium well. Just think a steakhouse should have cooking that down to science.

We were not sure what to expect. At this point on the time line, reviews have been landing all over the map. So, in our opinion, what have are they doing right: 1. Our food: 7 oz filet, sweet potato fries, salads - both caesar and wedge. And the onion ring appetizer was excellent. 2. Portions 3. Parking 4. Attention to the table during the meal. What needs some work: 1. The time it took for a server to first arrive at our table. 2. Presentation timing. The appetizer arrived after the salad and the main dishes arrived very soon thereafter. Too many hot dishes cooling at the same time. Had there been 4 people in our booth, we would have quickly run out of table space. Will we come back? Yes.

The side dishes were pretty good but my LOCAL steak was horrible. It wasn’t the meat itself I don’t think, it was the cooks. It was well done and I ordered medium rare. All I could taste was pepper. I should have sent it back but thought my first cut in looked ok since was expecting to be undercooked. Music didn’t fit the location of the resteraunts vibe that people want. Beer was cold though.

Booth seats were tight, uncomfortable. The main course came during the salad course, so everything had to be moved. The salad was not what my wife ordered, waitress just shrugged, oh well. The steak and pork flatiron were very good, though expensive. Won't go back again, too aggravating.

Nice atmosphere, clean and inviting. Locally sourced options, interesting menu and many nice extra touches. Highly recommend for a nice dinner or special occasion; haven’t tried their lunch options yet.
