Seaplane Kitchen + Bar
It's been a while since I have been in to the Seaplane. They have changed a bunch of thing on the menu. The meatballs are great as always, we also had the muscles... the sauce on them was divine! The Rigatoni Bolognese was also great and had lamb in it this time. I like that they change up the ingredients but leave the names the same. Great food. I still think you should just bring your own wine as the glass pours still seem on the small side. I would definitely recommend!
Pizza came to the table boardline burned, the brusselsprouts were mushy and tasted like they were cooked in vinegar.
The food is solid, but you can’t really relax. The table we were at was in a row of 2-tops in the middle of a walkway. All night, people were squeezing by us on both sides. Our server was also kind of...high strung? They were nice, but overshared personal details and they would pop in disruptively....asking how everything was before we had time to take a bite, that sort of thing. No offensive interactions, just not a great time. The food is well made, but nothing you can’t find at other, more relaxed, restaurants in Bothell.
Went with another family so 4 adults and 4 kids under the age of 6 and sat in the part of the dining room with the kids play area. The server whose name I wish I now knew was fantastic. So easy going and accommodating, attentive and helpful with ordering. Read my mind on the wine by the glass suggestion. They were very inclusive with the kids, which is harder and harder to find after 6p in Seattle. They have a great space for them to stretch out (and maybe get a bit rowdy at times?!) with a big wall of chalkboard and a yummy menu of pasta, roasted veggies (broccoli, multicolored carrots) pizza, and a burger with killer fries! This was my second time going (and sitting in the same section with another family who lives in Kenmore hood) and second time ordering those finger licking garlic knots. Definitely KNOT to be missed! ;)
Menu offers variety, but could use a non fried chicken option.
Food was good. The charcuterie board was great but pricey. Kids noodles were as expected. They were nice enough to put the sauce on the side (as to not overdo it). My wife and I split the daily catch (salmon) with some veggie hash. It wasnt bad but not very memorable either. Lots of a good selection of spirits and wines.
Too loud, asked for salads first , came after. They ran out of chAmpagne, tried to give me a substitute so bad that the server said, you probably don’t want this but...
The food was great. Server was very polite, but lost track of time. We were seated at 5:30 and told our server we had live theater tickets and had to be out by 7pm. She did not time the delivery of the food well. It was 7:10 when we left the restaurant. Next time, i will order all food to be delivered at the same time!
Food was really good; portions are ample enough to split.
I came here during it's early opening days and I was not impressed back then. This time things have changed. The food was delicious, the service was better, and enjoyed it minus one thing. We got there at 5:30 and there were a lot of open tables and I had a reservation. I used open table about 15 minutes prior to make the reservation so I knew there was a lot of availability. I got there and the host wanted to sit us at a 2 person table in the back. I didnt feel comfortable at this table and I wanted a bigger table. He refused saying they had a lot of reservations. This simply wasn't true. First of all, I saw all the open reservations available on open table just 15 minutes prior and 2nd, the tables were all open still when we finished eating. I understand if the place is busy and full, but there was never a wait for a table the entire time we were there. Lots of open tables the whole time while we ate. If a customer wants a bigger table and it's not busy, they should be given a bigger table. I knew we were ordering multiple dishes and I wanted more room on the table.
Other than that, the food was very good. The chicken wings were our favorite item of the night.
The food was really good and the menu was imaginative. However it was quite expensive for what was served and the the ambiance of the place—a pub. The service was VERY slow—the servers were very friendly and pleasant but we waited a lot. I’d be willing to give it one more try because the food was good, but the service would have to improve a lot.
Always a wonderful dinner! I cannot day enough nice things about the staff and the food. We loved the smoke tuna dip and crispy olives...not to mention the charcuterie platter!! And if you have kids, the family section is great and can easily accommodate a party of eight.
This was our second visit to Seaplane and enjoyed it even more than our first time! Probably because it wasn't a Friday night so it wasn't as rambunctious, so we could have a good conversation with our friends. Both food and wine were stellar - including the cod sliders and the heirloom tomato salad! Know we'll be back!
Service was very good. My omelette was over cooked, and just ok.
Food is great, but a bit pricey for what it is. Still, it's one of the best spots in the Kenmore/Bothell area!
Visited Seaplane with 3 others on Friday night. The food was fabulous - including the fried olives, the knot bread, the cod tacos, the mussels and halibut. No one left hungry. They had run out of the wine we had chosen, but we found one quickly that did the trick. Only negative is that it was almost too loud. We don't mind energetic, but when it's hard to hear each other, it can be slightly annoying. Other than that, we'll be planning on making a return visit!
Food was superb. Our party of five ordered a variety of dishes, and everyone was impressed with the quality of the food. Everything arrived hot and the servers and wait staff were very helpful and friendly, yet professional and knowledgeable. We had a toddler and a hearing impaired person in our party and they were very accommodating, despite it being a very busy night.
6 of us had dinner reservations on a Wednesday night. Got right in. Had a great waitress. Food was outstanding. Will definitely be back!!!
Such good food and a great addition to Kenmore. Highly recommend the garlic knots, roasted cauliflower, and steak!
The service was fantastic. Food hit the spot. The pizza pies were amazing with a great chew in the dough. They were super respective and tuned in for our nut allergy to the point they comped us a beverage.
Happy hour food was outstanding
Prices for the food was reasonable
A little loud but fun Atmosphere
The seats are unbelievably hard and uncomfortable. The very young man making drinks Saturday morning had absolutely 100% no clue what he was doing, I've been a bartender for many many years and this kid is bad... the dutch baby is perhaps the smallest one I've ever seen & definitely did not call for the price tag. My husband ordered a burger, rare, it was well done with burnt, greasy fries. We will not be going back & I suggest you pass this has been place by.
The food was good as was the service once we were seated. I was disappointed that I made a reservation and then arrived at 8 pm to find there were two types of tables, one of which is high tops that I find uncomfortable. There was nothing but high tops available when we arrived which pretty much negated our reservation. We waited 15-20 minutes and then my husband complained to a manager. The manager found us a table and did a great job of trying to make things right--comping us champagne and an appetizer. In the end, we enjoyed the meal but I'm not sure we will go back.
Sorry, but this is the third time that the kitchen and staff have totally messed up. Our dinner showed up the same time our salad and appetizers did (within 10 minutes of ordering) so they had to wait to put back in our dinner order, but then had to wait for an excessive amount of time (30 minutes after we were done) before dinner finally showed up (we almost had to leave).
Cannot recommend. Their Seaplane burger was mostly bread, with tiny microtome-sliced pickles. If you want a better burger, go to Dick’s, and pay about 1/5th for their Special. The Seaplane pizza was also disappointing. We don’t know why this place is always packed with such so-so food and ridiculous prices, but we don’t be back.
Our server was great, the food was great. I’d definitely come back and try either lunch or dinner. We came for breakfast and enjoyed all our dishes.
Service was super slow on a Thursday night. My medium rare steak was well done and they neglected to acknowledge the special occasion - my husbands birthday. We really enjoyed the view of seaplanes from the table and they were accommodating to our 3 year old. Her “kids”
pizza was the same size as the regular menu pizza!
It was my Mother in Laws 90th bday! She did not want it announced :) 5 women, separate checks, basically a handful for the server. He handled everything with grace and and patience! Please thank him for me! Food was amazing and the value outstanding. We dine here often and I am always so pleased with everything!
Ordered meat & cheese tray-they forgot to make it-service level was poor, yet there were a lot of staff in restaurant-management not on top of their job-food was OK at best-will not be returning
Great service..... friendly and the right amount of attentiveness. Our second visit. Food was wonderful. We will return.
We had a couple of servers due to timing, but they were good with the change, and kept the service and quality going
The HH menu is pretty amazing. The snap pea summer salad was perfect on a nice warm hot day. The pizza was pretty fabulous. The crust was thin, chewy, and with a little crisp. Outdoor seating in the summertime was great. Family friendly is key for this place.
We will definitely be back ! Loved everything we ordered ~ Stacy was terrific also !
The updated Brunch menu is great, smoked salmon omelet with greens was fabulous! Chicken/French toast got rave reviews from my son as well. Always great service with a very friendly staff. Highly recommend!!
The garlic knot rolls are the best, be sure to order them! Pizza was tasty, good thin crispy crust.
Sat outside, very pleasant ambiance. Service a bit slow. Overall a good dining experience.
Good food, imaginative ingredient combinations and good value. The only problem is that the noise level is incredible - to the point that we had the choice of either yelling across the table to each other (which would have only added to the din) or remain quiet. Sound baffles in the ceiling would go a long way to improve the atmosphere.
Dinner and service was good. I ordered the gnocchi and it was a bit on the sweet side with the corn. Everyone else enjoyed their dinner.
Cocktails were creative, food was excellent. Pizza was one of the best thin crust I've ever had.
Great place on a hot evening. Kenmore really needed a large restaurant with good food.
