Seaplane Kitchen + Bar
Happy hour food was outstanding
Prices for the food was reasonable
A little loud but fun Atmosphere
The seats are unbelievably hard and uncomfortable. The very young man making drinks Saturday morning had absolutely 100% no clue what he was doing, I've been a bartender for many many years and this kid is bad... the dutch baby is perhaps the smallest one I've ever seen & definitely did not call for the price tag. My husband ordered a burger, rare, it was well done with burnt, greasy fries. We will not be going back & I suggest you pass this has been place by.
The food was good as was the service once we were seated. I was disappointed that I made a reservation and then arrived at 8 pm to find there were two types of tables, one of which is high tops that I find uncomfortable. There was nothing but high tops available when we arrived which pretty much negated our reservation. We waited 15-20 minutes and then my husband complained to a manager. The manager found us a table and did a great job of trying to make things right--comping us champagne and an appetizer. In the end, we enjoyed the meal but I'm not sure we will go back.
Sorry, but this is the third time that the kitchen and staff have totally messed up. Our dinner showed up the same time our salad and appetizers did (within 10 minutes of ordering) so they had to wait to put back in our dinner order, but then had to wait for an excessive amount of time (30 minutes after we were done) before dinner finally showed up (we almost had to leave).
Cannot recommend. Their Seaplane burger was mostly bread, with tiny microtome-sliced pickles. If you want a better burger, go to Dick’s, and pay about 1/5th for their Special. The Seaplane pizza was also disappointing. We don’t know why this place is always packed with such so-so food and ridiculous prices, but we don’t be back.
Our server was great, the food was great. I’d definitely come back and try either lunch or dinner. We came for breakfast and enjoyed all our dishes.
Service was super slow on a Thursday night. My medium rare steak was well done and they neglected to acknowledge the special occasion - my husbands birthday. We really enjoyed the view of seaplanes from the table and they were accommodating to our 3 year old. Her “kids”
pizza was the same size as the regular menu pizza!
It was my Mother in Laws 90th bday! She did not want it announced :) 5 women, separate checks, basically a handful for the server. He handled everything with grace and and patience! Please thank him for me! Food was amazing and the value outstanding. We dine here often and I am always so pleased with everything!
Ordered meat & cheese tray-they forgot to make it-service level was poor, yet there were a lot of staff in restaurant-management not on top of their job-food was OK at best-will not be returning
Great service..... friendly and the right amount of attentiveness. Our second visit. Food was wonderful. We will return.
We had a couple of servers due to timing, but they were good with the change, and kept the service and quality going
The HH menu is pretty amazing. The snap pea summer salad was perfect on a nice warm hot day. The pizza was pretty fabulous. The crust was thin, chewy, and with a little crisp. Outdoor seating in the summertime was great. Family friendly is key for this place.
We will definitely be back ! Loved everything we ordered ~ Stacy was terrific also !
The updated Brunch menu is great, smoked salmon omelet with greens was fabulous! Chicken/French toast got rave reviews from my son as well. Always great service with a very friendly staff. Highly recommend!!
The garlic knot rolls are the best, be sure to order them! Pizza was tasty, good thin crispy crust.
Sat outside, very pleasant ambiance. Service a bit slow. Overall a good dining experience.
Good food, imaginative ingredient combinations and good value. The only problem is that the noise level is incredible - to the point that we had the choice of either yelling across the table to each other (which would have only added to the din) or remain quiet. Sound baffles in the ceiling would go a long way to improve the atmosphere.
Dinner and service was good. I ordered the gnocchi and it was a bit on the sweet side with the corn. Everyone else enjoyed their dinner.
Cocktails were creative, food was excellent. Pizza was one of the best thin crust I've ever had.
Great place on a hot evening. Kenmore really needed a large restaurant with good food.
First time at brunch - very good! Crispy Cauliflower will be a go to in the future- so great! Smoked salmon omelette and hanger steak were both fantastic.
So great that they have my new fav Timber City Ginger beer from South Park!!
Great ambience and feel, love the open air aspect on a warm summer night. Service was embarrassing if non-existent. Took 20 minutes to retrieve a can of Rainier from the bar, more than once. The chicken wings came with an extra deep fried "Something" that probably was a chicken neck, but it was disgusting and after pointing it out the server, they just shrugged. Don't look for 4 star food, this is Kenmore after all.. LOL
We sat next to the wall of windows that opened up on a beautiful Saturday night! The pizza was great! It was a birthday dinner with friends and their ice cream is really good....all the food is really good!!
Great location and pretty restaurant with great ambiance. Drink order did not arrive until after food was served. Probably need another body behind the bar at 6 pm. Food was average. Enjoyed charcuterie option as an appetizer. Cute place.
Beet salad was so delicious! Pizza wasn’t my favorite. Will return later on for some entree options!
Excellent food - we had salads and the smoked tuna dip. Order the dip - it is delicious and comes with sweet potato chips! Our waitress was excellent and gave details about food and drink items we were unsure of.
Most food were very oily and heavy. Cheese & ham platter were expensive. Good but no prices a menu
Great neighborhood joint. Love that they are here. Due to the acoustics, it is very noisy.
Everything good except the noise level. Way too loud
So pleasantly surprised by this place! I expected the food to be great (and it was), but the atmosphere was also so lively without being excessively loud. The way the whole place basically opens up in nice weather, wow, never been to a restaurant like that before. Will be back soon!
Everything is delish! I’ve never experience such fresh vegetable anyplace.
Been twice now in two weeks. Everything has been consistently flawless! The food is flavorful and perfect, the staff is prompt and friendly, and the building itself is modern and open and very cool. Can't recommend enough!
Loud, too many servers came to the table, EXPENSIVE, food was good but you get VERY tiny portions. Kids menu is a joke. My 12 year old ordered the gnocchi off of the regular menu ($18), when it came she was almost in tears as she was hungry and there was barely anything in her bowl. Such a disappointment as Kenmore does not have very many sit down restaurants, we were hoping this would be our new go to.
It makes location is a bit challenging due to construction in the area but I got lucky and parked right out front. Food was really good. The house smoked tuna s d sweet potato chips was really good. We really enjoyed the food and service was good too.
It’s a limited menu if you don’t want pizza.find the salads, broccoli sides were a little too drenched in dressings/sauces.
Great atmosphere, decor, beer/drink selection
Sunny Father's Day Brunch satisfied veggie and meat eaters! Food Flavorful with some unique flavor treats, meat eaters declared the burger the best they had had in a while! Dessert menu might seem limited but we tried most of them at our Father's Day/ Bday brunch for 5, and everyone was yumhappy! We sat off by the kitchen and enjoyed to large sunny windows and the slightly quieter vibe. Porch open to courtyard and fountain in Kenmore Square added to the nice summery relaxed feel of the visit.
Great ambiance. The food was mixed, perhaps inconsistent. One person in our party had the burger, which is sizable and a good value, yet hardly seasoned as if they wanted the quality meat to speak for itself. Others had a couple of brunch items that were heavily seasoned, in some cases unnecessarily--like the breakfast sausage. The Moroccan Baked eggs were delicious yet a bit small. Service was good but they didn't seem to have enough help, or organization, to handle the load. Maybe they need server support to manage refills and picking up plates because we waited a while for these functions to transpire.
Overall it's worth the visit. It's a new place; therefore, they may be working out some of the balance.
I really enjoy the food besides the fries. I hate those fries that look like they’ve been cooked in old oil. They a dark, too skinny and very unappetizing looking. I guess they are popular in this area as a few restaurants serve them. I like thick, golden fries. Each to their own. Besides that, it is a very bright, welcoming restaurant. The service is good and we never have to wait long on our food, which is a bonus with kids.
