Friend in from out of town.
Food just ok, but nice ambiance and great that it's BYOB. Service was a bit slow
Server Emmy was very rude. Food was good but the service was horrific.
I love this place and if you haven't tried the Lil' Sea Monster...add it to your list. You will not be disappointed!
Food was not good. Service was slow and everything tasted the same. Would not go back.
I’ve never written a negative review on a Chicago restaurant, but this place was so disgusting, I need to alert people.
Food: A 1.5 on a scale of 10. They hide the average quality fish in too much rice, spices, flakes and other processed stuff like way too much cream cheese.
Ambiance: Good Crowd, nice energy. BUT they have jammed in the tables - I’m guessing it’s against fire code it’s so crowded. The first table they sat us at was 3 feet from where they stored dirty dishes, and 4 feet from entrance to back kitchen. Deodorizer plugged into socket next to table. Second table was average at best and couldn’t find level floor to keep it from wobbling. Saw food on floor beneath several tables as we were walking out.
Service: very slow. Took 45 minutes to get food after we ordered. Wait staff was minimally polite and considered it an imposition to make recommendations on menu choices.
It’s fine that it is BYOB, but it shouldn’t also be BYO Food, and BYO Service. We wouldn’t come back even if it was free.
SeaDog Sushi was such a great place, we really enjoyed out time
Very creative sushi rolls and so delicious. Service was very friendly and helpful.
Service was beyond slow. We had to cancel some of our rolls since they still hadn’t been made 3 hours after placing the order. Left hungry and frustrated. Won’t be back
First visit at SeaDog and everything was delicious. Food came out at a decent time, the staff was great!
I will be coming back forsure!
Favorite sushi in the city hands down! We get the little monster roll every time, but I’ve never had anything there that wasn’t delicious.
La comida es muy buena pero el lugar donde nos sentaron MUY REDUCIDO. La orden nos la trajeron en partes y tuvimos que hacer una pausa de aproximadamente 20 minutos entre un platillo y otro. Mucho ruido.
The place was packed, mostly with couples on dates. I loved the "hip" music! The staff were super accommodating when we made a 9:30 reservation at 9pm, and the restaurant was crowded. Love this place!
Incredible as always. Best Sushi I have ever had...period. Incredible value and BYOB is a HUGE plus
The sushi here never disappoints. Tables are quite close together in the back part of the restaurant which can get noisy but it's a minor inconvenience. Love that it's BYOB. Great service also.
It was a great Sunday night Dinner meet up spot . Not too quite not too loud .
Food was flavorful and inventive. It took a little longer than expected/anticipated. Servers were run ragged. Need more staff.
Good sushi, great value. BYOB is nice way to save money. Huge variety of roles. Good service. Will return at some point in the future.
Fish is really good quality -- loved all of our rolls and nigiri - everything we ordered had decent/fair prices.
Also really like that it is BYOB - bring your favorite wine and save a ton of $
I loved our table, the one on the stage by the windows, and the food was great. I thought the music was too loud and not the right mood.
The noise was over the top. Way, way too loud. We were also turned off by the menu. I went there a few years ago. It has declined.
Sushi is great. Price is very affordable. Place is kinda tight (you're pretty much eating elbow to elbow with people at the next table)
I almost never write reviews but I LOVE this place. The patio is lovely, the sushi is always fresh, the prices are super reasonable and the service is great. It is my favorite sushi place in Chicago and there are many great ones.
The only thing was that I requested a table in the front dining area and we were seated in back but I understand it was a Friday night and very crowded. Not a big deal!
BYOB! Very cozy, good variety of rolls.
This is a great spot for a hangout with friends or family. Fairly priced high quality sushi served by personable waitstaff. Plus you can BYOB.
Awesome and so delicious! Really incredible for dinner dates! It's not well lit but and the noise level is loud but it's intimate and really unique.
Great experience.. food was amazing, ambience is classy, service is wonderful.. definitely will go back.
Food was great. Would come again!
Small, local BYOB sushi place that is a noticeable step above cheaper or all-you-can-eat peers. While you do pay a bit more for that quality, the price is definitely fair. For two people, you should leave under $50.
Cool spot and vibe. Not too loud. Back patio is quiet and relaxed. Bring some wine and relax!
Must get the spicy gunkan set. It's not on the menu but delicious! Get range of rolls. Quick and delicious. And BYOB!!
The food was ok. The sauce for the tempura sweet potato sauce had a skunky taste.
Fantastic food and service and great prices for sushi! Will definitely be back again!
The Food here is Amazing. Best Dragon sushi roll in the city, hands down. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere, and it's BYOB. Sounds like all "wins" to me.
The server was so rude. He explained the rolls incorrectly then when I asked for clarification, he rolled his eyes at me and corrected his mistake. Mediocre sushi with not so great service!
Took my girlfriend on a date here later one evening. She has a shellfish allergy so we are always a bit selective when it comes to sushi places. This place did not disappoint. Spicy Miso was killer. All of our rolls and apps we're outstanding, and the prices are pretty outstanding. Will be returning soon.
There was a really strange smell in the restaurant.
Food was excellent. The front of the restaurant is quiet and nice. We were put in the back with TWO 8 woman Bachelorette parties. Why a restaurant would put a nice group of 2 couples and an extra person in a cold high ceiling room with 16 drunk cackling hens is beyond me. There were tables in the front available when we came in and we had a reservation, but by the time we sat down and had our ears blown out, the front was full. The whole thing was rather ridiculous. No one really seemed to care despite asking to move and being willing to wait. So we ate our outstanding sushi and yelled at each other for 90 minutes. One group left after 30 min, the other never did and just got louder.
So, go as a couple or 4some but eat in the front. If you are not a big group of loud drunk women and get put in the back room, you may be better off getting take out and going to the punk shows at the Underground Lounge as it will be a bit more peaceful and relaxing.
