They were out of 3 items I tried to order. The specialty roll we ordered was basically just full of breadcrumbs. Probably won’t be back.
Maki rollls were really good. Tempera was not so good...tasted like deep fried vs traditional tempera.
Totally neglected by the waiter. Seating in front area is cramped and uncomfortable. Edamame was soggy and cold. Sushi was average at best. Will never come back.
Flavorless rolls. The restaurant had a bad odor to begin with. Good customer service but would not ever recommend.
How come I don’t receive dining points?
We have been going to Sea Dog for years as a date night spot and love it. Incredible quality for the price and BYOB. We love the Lovers and Midnight Sundae rolls, pan fried scallops and The Island apps, and always get the fatty salmon sashimi.
Food was alright, but service was horrible. It took over an hour to get 2 rolls of sushi...
Great prices but not worth going unless you want to wait that long for your food.
My guests and I sat at a table for nearly 12 minutes without being acknowledged by a server or manager so we left. It's unfortunate because I heard great things about the food.
Husband date night + the Little Monster is always a swell evening. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The green river, volcano and sea monster rolls were excellent. I would go back again.
They were understaffed. It took more than an hour for us to get our food. We were a party of 6. I will never go back to Seadog Sushi again.
Dined there last Sunday evening. We were impressed by both the food and the service. We do not live too far away from the restaurant and our only disappointment was that we did not go start going there sooner. We will definitely be returning.
Good sushi, byob
I really liked the food here. Cute place. We were seated in the back which is a little cold and not as cute as the front room. The service was friendly and very good. I will definitely go back.
Great experience! Really enjoyed the food!
fish had no flavor but the vegetarian options were good.
Food is always good but the tables are so close together in the front room that the wait staff kept bumping into us. It doesn’t give your customers enough space to relax and your staff enough room to move around.
Loved it, found our new go-to sushi spot! Gorgeous visual menu made us want to eat everything!! Very impressed all around.
Great sushi place in Wicker Park area. The dragon roll is delicious, and their veggie rolls are always on point.
We waited over 2 hours for our food.
Best sushi we’ve ever had
Great quiet neighborhood BYOB spot. Incredibly priced and a lot of options.
I love this restaurant. The backyard is beautiful. The sushi is always fresh and the prices are super reasonable for sushi. FIVE STARS.
Good food, lots of options, reasonably priced. Food took a little longer than anticipated for a rather moderate Friday night, but the staff was very friendly and offered a free appetizer for the wait.
The food was good but took SO long.
Food was good but it was an hour after we ordered before we actually received food. By then we were so hungry it was difficult to actually enjoy the food. At some point serving staff told us the kitchen was backed up, but communication was poor. They didn’t do enough to A) give us something to snack on while we waited and B) tell us how much longer we should expect to wait
Over 2 hour wait for sushi rolls and no attention from service staff
Ambiance is for the outdoor patio.
We have come here probably six times in the past year. My family really likes the sushi and we love sitting out back on their patio. We like that it's BYOB and the service is always good. I'm not much of a sushi fan so I'm always looking for more of the cooked dishes, such as scallops. The last three times we've come, they've been out of several of the cooked options. It's disappointing to not find something I enjoy eating. I think we need to find a different place that has options for non-sushi eaters.
The outdoor patio was lovely and the service was ok but the food was wretched. Really awful.
I’ve booked many Open Table reservations, but this is the first time I have submitted a review. I don’t normally complain but the food is truly inedible. Take a pass.
We were a little disappointed that we had noted it was a birthday being celebrated, yet there was no mention of it while at the restaurant.
Great service, and food came very quickly, which was probably due to the restaurant being pretty empty.
Great food, but they’re a little short on staff currently.
This used to be the low-key place to go for good, fish-forward sushi. However, my last experience was hot (A/C broken?), cramped (tables are packed), and there was just sauce on everything. I'm all for sauce, when you can taste the different components of a roll. This was too much. Presentation was thoughtless (I feel like it used to be better?).
Great food. . Waitress were great but it took too long for the food and the place wasn’t busy. We received a plate at a time and over an Hour to get served
Enjoyed the food, ambiance and it’s BYOB! Great service!
Service was exceptionally slow, which would be forgiving on a busy weekend night; however, we dined on a Tuesday, and was the only table in the restaurant (besides a couple carryout orders). Also we were really disappointed by the fish quality. The spicy salmon had a weird mayo and the salmon was slimy. The namasake sushi was stringy looking and fell apart as I picked each piece up. Also it was very odd that each namasake was covered with sesame like seeds - I never had sushi before which was sprinkled with seeds. Not sure if it was trying to mask something but it was a texture and taste turnoff when you are just looking for clean, fresh tasting fish.
This is a terrific place, although no parking: good public transportation nearby.....small or large groups accommodated.....terrific food....will definitely go back....
Excellent food but very slow. We arrived very hungry. Other tables also seemed to be waiting for food.
