Sea Pearl Ratings and Reviews
We arrived several minutes before our reservation time and were seated right away. The service was excellent - fast and attentive. The food was outstanding. It was a bit pricey for a family meal - probably more suited for a date night. We will definitely visit again.
We enjoyed our meal and also enjoyed the attention of an excellent server: Eddie.
We started with the spicy and fresh tuna tartare. Shared a kale and beet salad, again very fresh and tasty. The scallop entree was a hit for 2 folks, the filet tender and moist and the sushi a la carte fresh and delicious. We shared a reasonably priced Malbec. A delightful evening for all.
Li, the owner always checks in to make sure our meal is going well and as expected. Thank you.
Our servers were awesome, and the food was amazing. However, I've never been somewhere where they would not let you get happy hour prices on drinks and appetizers with your dinner. About half of my group wound up sitting separately because of this weird policy. I booked a table ahead of time, and nobody thought to mention it to me. This kind of ruined my experience, and I will never come back with a large group again.
Sea Pearl is very good but I wish there were some more affordable options in the entrees. I just can't spend over $30 for an entree or over $20 for ramen when it is $8 up the road.
But most places in Mosaic District are stupidly priced, pretentious, and not as good as Sea Pearl.
Food was good — but not so remarkable that we would recall after a week. Service was so-so especially considering the price point. Eclectic fusion menu.
One complaint: tuna tartar on a large scoop of rice. Really? Small quantity of tuna and ridiculously huge portion of rice. Utter bummer.
Our server was BEYOND amazing. She really went above and beyond to make sure my mom's birthday was special. I cannot recall her name, but she had glasses and long hair. And also has a talent in making non alcoholic beverages that arent on the menu to appease my mom's random cravings. She was also attentive, polite and made sure she communicated with us throughout the evening about our courses. Thank you for a one-of-a-kind experience.
The hostess, on the other hand, clearly was upset about something and we could feel it from the moment we walked in and saw her cold demeanor.
Dropped in for a quick bite. I definitely loved the Hong Kong Clay Pot, it just hit the spot. I added an extra egg to mine. I also had Mussels for an appetizer and the sauce it was in was delicious. I ended up ordering the Brule Banana Split which was delicious. Whatever you decide to try, you can't go wrong. Their Sea Bass dish is also one of my favorites.
Yikes. Terrible night. Calamari included 10 pieces of squid dipped in mounds of fried tempura. Clay hot pot was terrible. Some kind of strange cinnamon spice and overly salty shrimp. Waitress understood how bad our experience was (and seemed to know exactly what we were talking about). When issue was raised with manager, manager was very apologetic and said she would comp our meal, but I haven't seen any credit. Just can't imagine going back sadly.
our main course arrived while we were still enjoying our starter. The salmon and scallops were "dried out" perhaps by being kept under a warming lamp or such! Being a special occasion with my wife I was terribly disappointed.
Being a very busy Saturday night the serving staff seemed overwhelmed and inadequately trained.
Sea Pearl makes very good dining but the entrees are so expensive other than the ramen bowl type dishes. We were there with quite wealthy friends and even they blanched at the prices - $37 for sea bass?
Sadly we can't make this our regular because of the cost, otherwise we'd eat there often.
Food and ambiance is excellent - every dish was flavorful, interesting, and well-prepared. Service was very friendly but somewhat forgetful and inefficient. Management was very good, and filled all the gaps, even comping 2 additional dishes when the waitstaff failed to submit an order. The winelist is a little pricey, lacking much choice below $50, but we will certainly return and recommend to our friends.
The food was tasty, especially my kale salad (delicious). Friends enjoyed their tuna, shrimp and scallops. The feeling of the dining room was a bit spare and empty, not helped by our humorless, seemingly smug waiter. We had no special or difficult requests except wanted to know what a few unfamiliar items on the menu mean. His responses were really irritating and condescending. This was our third visit and the least enjoyable, through no fault of the chef. The seafood is still fresh and nicely prepared.
We'd visited on a Tuesday night. I was eager to follow up on this great service everyone has been talking about in the reviews, and the good food. The food portions are tastefully large, with good aromatics, and appropriately potent flavor. I'm not an Asian food expert, but can easily appreciate what was offered. The vibe can apply to the business crowd, upscale friend hangout, to a date night as well. I'm curious to try coming back at a peak hour to see how they handle the rush.
Bloodied Turkey Carcass Greeting at the Buffet !!?? Thanksgiving and no gravy? $45 per meal and a $65 bottle of wine I would have liked a little Turkey that was safe to consume! No turkey for us! Honestly this meal was a nightmare. There was the odd to non- existent service and the two Pekinese dogs at the table next to us! These dogs were treated with more respect than my daughter and me. I complained and the only compensation from the management was "Thank you for your feedback" and "you/we are in between times"... What? It's a Thanksgiving buffet scheduled from 12 -8pm so what time is a bad time for them to provide appropriately cooked turkey for consumption and gravy? I scheduled two weeks ago on Open Table and 2:45 was the only time remaining. Anyone feeling sick tomorrow? Here is your reason! How can people put up with this? It's a "Carving Station". Did the people before me not see the blood oozing and dripping from the knife as it was being carved? Did they just passively watch as the bloodied turkey was plopped on their plates? Lemmings all of you!! Shame, shame shame....speak up ! Butt Happy Thanksgiving to all anyway! My daughter is with me and that's all that matters:)
