Sea Level Restaurant - Shade Hotel Redondo Beach Ratings and Reviews
Food was delish and service was awesome! We enjoyed their specialty cocktails, and ate Filet Mignon and Lobster MAC N Cheese! Definitely recommend!
Great outdoor ambiance on patio by gas firepit which is great for special occasion or cocktails with friends. We thoroughly enjoyed it!
This has become one of my favorite places to bring visitors to the South Bay or to just stop by for a drink and a small plate or for just about any meal. The location and parking are convenient, the views are wonderful, the menu is interesting and tasty, the service is friendly and efficient, and the happy hour prices are fantastic. Well done!
This restaurant has such a lovely outdoor seating area by the water. We were pleasantly greeted by friendly hostesses and seated at the pit-fire dining table. It was so nice and romantic. The weather on Thanksgiving night was so nice that the pit-fire was on low and kept us very comfortable. The Thanksgiving Prix Fix Meal was delicious. Yummy squash soup to start. We also ordered the calamari which was good. The turkey was flavorful and moist on mashed potatoes with asparagus, slices of carrot, and cranberry sauce. The dessert was delicious too, the chocolate cake topped with ice cream were both so good (not too sweet). I definitely recommend requesting to be seated at the pit fire table for a romantic experience. Our servers were excellent as well. All very professional and friendly.
I went to Sea Level for a birthday brunch with my girlfriends and we had a great time. Not only was it scenic and was the food great (highly recommend the Lobster Mac & Cheese), but our server Irving took made it a 5 star experience with his big personality, making us feel very welcome! If you go, please ask to sit in his section for a memorable meal :)
We had a terrific experience from the valet, to the cocktail server to dinner. While enjoyed the outdoor firepits while waiting for our table. When seated, we asked for a few suggestions from our server about some gluten-free dishes she suggested the pizza and we were not disappointed, it was delicious, full of flavor and the crust was just right, not too crispy as some can be! Reiley one of the many servers went above and beyond to be sure we were comfortable with additional heaters and blankets! We loved our entire experience and we will be back! :)
The portions were copious, the food better than expected, with interesting twists on standard fare. The service adequate, the noise level far too high. Restaurants that blare two or three sports channels plus music always strike me as trying to sell something other than the food.
We had a very disappointing dining experience at Sea Level. Though the service was quite good, the food was mediocre at best and poor at worst. We are experienced diners and will happily drive over an hour for a great meal. We live in the South Bay and were excited to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, Merrill Schindler's reviews continue to be inaccurate. I feel that if you read one of his reviews, you should believe the opposite. The prices are expensive, the dishes, while beautifully presented, are unimaginative overall with several being inedible. All three of our entrees were greatly overcooked, including a chicken dish. They have a $25 corkage and a wine list that is overpriced and lacking in gems. The cocktails were badly executed too. Despite the attentive, lovely service, we have no intention of giving Sea Breeze a second chance.
Really great experience. Much better than I had hoped, considering it was the South Bay. Felt like I was somewhere else. Food was excellent. Great, friendly and attentive service and wonderful seating and view outside on the patio. Would recommend it highly!
I feel like we made quite a find with Sea Level. It was our first time, so keeping our expectations in check. The location is beautiful, looking out over the Marina. I absolutely do not think this very often -- every bite of food was mind-blowing - absolutely delicious. I cannot wait to go again.
Everything and everyone, with the exception of the hostess, as explained below was great - waiters, runners, and Brunch food that was delicious, fresh and tasty. Cocktails were unbelievably good and refreshing; just the right mixture of alcohol and mixer. Price wise, it was a bit expensive, but that's me as I am not a fan of paying more for farm to table in general. My only complaint is the lack of communication between the hostess and the wait staff, i.e., telling them that there were customers at their station. It was a good ten minutes before we got plate ware and napkins. The waiter was very apologetic though and after the mishap was very attentive. He also comp'd our cocktails, which was above and beyond the call of duty. I would definitely come here again, but make sure, gently, the host communicates with the wait staff. Highly recommended.
We stayed at Shade for two nights, and we ate at Sea Level four times during our stay! We had two breakfasts, one lunch and one dinner. The food is remarkably delicious, beautifully plated and served by impressively courteous and friendly staff. The view and ambience is lovely. We can't say enough about our experience ... exceeded expectations! Thank you...such a breath of fresh air in LA where attitudes can ruin good food!
This was our first visit to Sea Level Restaurant. We enjoyed the marina view, the outdoor dining (with heater), our great server and our meal. It's casual and lovely. The menu includes fresh seafood, meat and some veggie dishes. There was a nice selection of wines and an extensive list of beer. We enjoyed our experience there and recommend Sea Level highly.
We were looking for a new restaurant in the South Bay, and my wife honed in on Sea Level at the Shade Hotel in RB. Arriving at sunset, the view was relaxing and stunning. There is indoor and outdoor seating with a few fire pits. Our table was indoors with the best of both worlds and a splendid view. If you're not into football, simply face the ocean.
Connor was our excellent server, explaining the fresh oysters of the day which were very good. Cocktails were well served with a nice big cube of ice for my old fashion. There were many creative seafood dishes on the menu, along with turf fare.
The hamachi crudo was decent, the beet salad tasty. Our cousin had their Snake River pork chop which he really enjoyed. Two of us had the pistachio crusted cod with an interesting melange of corn, chorizo and beans. The cod was prepared perfectly ~ juicy and tender with large medallions of cod. The lobster mac was generous with nice flavor, an ample amount of lobster with a nice bread crumb crust.
The pot de crime chocolate dessert was very enjoyable. There are other items we would like to return to try such as the shrimp curry ramen and macadamia dusted sea bass. We can't wait.
I love this place and have been many times. My only recommendation would be for them to lower their corkage fee from $25/bottle to $15/bottle to keep in line with all of the other restaurants in the South Bay. Otherwise I highly recommend the food and vibe.
From the moment we arrived for the birthday celebration, we were made to feel welcome. Ashley, the manager, and her staff were attentive & friendly. The food was so fresh and each dish was the perfect temperature. The happy hour selection and prices are exceptional, we'll be back soon!
Our server, Bruno was excellent! He was attentive and took excellent care of my guests. It was my daughters 18th Bday brunch and she is very particular and she whispered to me, "mom, make sure you take care of our server, he is doing such a great job"
I was disappointed in my meal selection, braised ribs breakfast burrito, the meat was incredibly dry. One of my guests ordered the same thing and was also displeased. We informed the Manager and she graciously removed it from our bill.
Overall, I believe it was a pleasant dining experience for my guests.
Loved the trendy, fun atmosphere. Got there 30 mins early & our table was ready. We were also able to catch the last few minutes of happy hour. Food was fantastic! It was a little loud, as there was a party going on next to us, but it wasn't loud where we couldn't have a conversation. Good place for a birthday celebration!
