Food was amazing ! Our server, Dave or David I believe that was his name was phenomenal and the food was on point!! Thank you for everything
Love this place! Always have the best service, a great selection of beers and beverages and the perfect casual friendly atmosphere. Nothing better than coming to brunch or lunch or dinner or cocktails and knowing the experience will be consistently wonderful.
Love the coziness
Very good restaurant.
Delicious food and excellent service!
We enjoyed our meal a lot! Get the fried dough dessert - it’s amazing!!!
Outstanding! Delicious food and creative cocktails. We’ll definitely be back!
Amazing waiter, delicious food. Perfect
Good place to eat away from the tourist areas
yes i would!!! i would recommend the fries with the homemade chower on top as an app, it was fantastic! The waiter was so nice, especially with my husband who wanted to try some different beers, staff knew all the items on the menu and everything was FRESH!!!! Great place. Also, super wheelchair accessible, my husband is wheelchair bound and we were taken via elevator to the second floor. So happy we chose this place as our first restaurant on vacation! Highly recommend!!
Best dining in Salem! Try the lobster roll it is fantastic!!!
Delicious food, great atmosphere and wonderful service!
Fabulous food n drinks...excellent service. Waiters were 👍 great
We were visiting Salem for a birthday celebration and enjoyed our meal. The oysters and flounder tacos with mango relish were delicious! Making reservations is highly recommended.
Amazing food (fresh and delicious), cool location (right on the water), service was great. Would definitely recommend!
We had a great meal & enjoyed sitting on the patio. We’d eat here again if our ventures bring us back to Salem!
Any time we're in Salem, this is where we go! This time we were able to sit upstairs outside in the patio area. Even though it was cloudy, it was still great. Beer options and sangria were good. We ordered some oysters and their awesome fried pickles to start...delicious! Both our meals were plentiful, fried scallops and also seafood pie. Both terrific! We'll be back.
Server could have had more enthusiasm on waiting on us
It wasn’t the greatest experience. I’ve been wanting to go here for a while ever since I discovered them on Instagram. Their food and drinks looked amazing from what they have posted. My friends and I finally made it here this past Saturday (September 28). We ordered the calamari and clam chowder fries which were pretty good then we ordered the Spanish octopus which wasn’t cooked well at all and it was one small piece and a mound of mixed veggies... didn’t realize we would be getting more veggies than octopus... For dinner a friend of mine ordered the fish n chips... everyone one of us are New England natives and have had fish n chips too many times to count hat have been enormous and sometimes can’t even finish. Sea Levels take on a normal fish n chip entree is a kids meal. It came with two very small pieces of fish that looked like fish sticks that come from the frozen section of the grocery store. And the fries tasted and felt like they were sitting out for a while or even maybe left over from someone’s else’s meal from earlier in the day. We complained about the total experience to the waiter...the manager came over, apologized and gave our friend a second fish n chip dinner but didn’t comp the meal which any other restaurant would have done. I don’t ever ever complain but this was just absurd.
Arrived early, everything was exceptional, excellent until the guests seated next to us on the deck started playing music on his cell phone. Then requested to have flaps on deck closed, due to being drastically underdressed, killing the ambiance and view for those guests that were prepared for the surroundings
Excellent food, great service! A beautiful day on the upper deck. Highly recommended.
We do enjoy this place but the oysters were not as good tonight (small, very small and limited to two choices). We pointed this out to the server who shrugged his shoulders...the right thing to do would have been to bring some additional oysters (the larger ones). Nothing. The cod was very good and we recommend the chili sauce. Parking is difficult so go during the day which is what we will do. Recommended but with the slight caution about the oysters.
We had a reservation and were seated promptly in our requested area. That was a good thing because the wait for walk-ins was an hour. The food and service were good, as usual. The view from the upper deck is always enjoyable.
Disappointed with the wait time & food. Waited for very long time & appetizers never came until after getting our meals. I ordered fish tacos. They were cold & had about a tablespoon size piece of fish in each small taco. Only got 3 tacos where most restaurants give you four. The other meals of hadddock & tuna were good, not great. At least they were apologetic & did not charge for the apps.
Always love Sea Level! Best view in Salem and food is always great.
Casual. Food was good and service was very pleasant.
Beautiful setting, great cocktails and wonderful food
We had some great food with a view of the water.
The proportions were larger than expected, so it was a good value for the money.
Both of our entrees were wrong. My husband asked for no aioli with his tuna and it came with aioli. My steak tips were suppose to be medium and they came out well done. When the waitress asked for them to be recooked they just reheated the tips I had cut up on my plate making them even more cooked! Our waitress was AWESOME and I felt bad that our experience was ruined due to the cooks. The manager and the hostess made it right by taking off the tips and compensating a drink. Won’t go back but glad we didn’t leave upset.
I have been to Sea Level numerous times and always come back for the mussels. Most of the time they are very good. This particular evening they were HOrriBLE. They were dried up and obviously not fresh. Our waiter was about the nicest guy we have ever had serve us there and we refrained from telling him because it wasn’t his fault. I blame the manager of this restaurant. If the mussels are not fresh, simply let the customer know. Very simple. There are plenty of other things on the menu to order. If the manager is present and on the floor monitoring the floor, he/she would know. There is a lot of completion in Salem. If you want to be competitive, you have to know what is going on.
The quality was a little degraded since the last time we ate here in September 2018. The bread basket wasn't nearly as good, and the bouillabaisse I ordered didn't come with crostini as advertised, although it was decent. The lobster mac n cheese was really good though.
I love the views from there!!! As always the food was amazing! I got the black and white tuna which was so flavorful and my fiancé got the baked stuffed haddock which he raved about. For dessert we got the cookie skillet. Soooo delicious!
The service and food was great! We got lobster mac and cheese and seafood pie and they were excellent.
We were seated in a premium seat with great views even though we arrived early for our reservation on a holiday weekend. The server was attentive, but didn't hurry us. There were a couple new items on the menu since our last visit. I had the black & white tuna and it was excellent. The noise level on the second floor is typically moderately high.
Food was amazing. I had the tuna and it was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was great and the view was spectacular.
The restaurant is well located and with a nice view. Unfortunately the overall experience was not so great I’m not sure if it is due to lack of staff or it’s just the way it is
Once the food was served the waitress just disappeared therefore to add a glass of wine to eat along with the dinner arrived but until my meal was over.. The food was okay nothing out of the ordinary
Very good seafood with awesome service .We had fun and will come back.
Food was average and slow to come out of kitchen ~ 60 minute lead time. Servers were helpful - great wine recommendation and checked in frequently. Noisy - hard to hold a conversation and if not on the deck - no view.
The food was much better this last time than at an earlier dinner. Scallops were baked perfectly, Fisherman's Platter was lightly fried and of all things, the Steak Tips were outstanding. It was a Tuesday night so it wasn't too busy.
We ordered Swordfish and Tuna. Both pieces were market price at $23 and $27 while the plate came out looking nice and elegant, there was barely 4 ounces to each portion, tons of rice or potatoes and very little vegetable. I was appalled at the value we received for our money and will not be returning the Sea Level in Salem. We have never had this issue when we go to the Newburyport Sea Level.
