Amazing! So sooooo happy you are there! Food was fab! Service great!! Will be back!
Great food and location. Sit on back deck overlooking water.
We have eaten at Sea Level often since it opened. Last Saturday Night the food preparation was below par. I had the baked scallops which were good, but the side of mashed potatoes was boring and the green beans gray and over cooked. The whole dish looked monochromatic and unappetizing. Another person had the baja fish tacos. In the past the fish in this dish was lightly breaded and fried to perfection, Saturday it was an over breaded, over cooked chunk of fish. The good dish of the night was the ahi tuna, though the rice cake was uninspiring. We are so sorry to see the quality of your food slipping.
We had an absolutely wonderful time at SeaLevel. Food was excellent. Server was amazing, even though she was still training! She had the menu down, a smile on her face, and was very timely with everything.
Great food and helpful wait staff in making decisions. Better attention could have been paid to spreading out the toppings on the Clam Chowder Pizza. Overall, our party of 4 was very pleased with their meals.
My wife and I always like going to sea level. Never had a bad experience and we probably frequent this restaurant the most of any other since we moved here two years ago. The fish is consistently cooked just right and they are constantly changing their specials, which keeps the menu fresh.
This restaurant was quite a surprise. While we visited in the beginning of the “Summer Season”, the service was excellent. Our server, Damon, was attentive to our needs and very personable. The food was delicious, from the stuffed lobster to the special of stripped bass. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant if visiting the North Shore for the first time or spending a day out in Newburyport
Will not be one of my go to places. You would think a chef in NE, that serves seafood, would know how to cook it properly. Noise level to high and it wasn't full. Oysters were good, but lets face it, that's hard to mess up.
We ate on the street side patio, there is a waterside patio as well. Food and ambiance were great, though the warm lobster roll left a bit to be desired. Servers mixed up our order a bit and was a little slow even though it was not very busy. Not too big of a deal and possibly a fluke, but something no less.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant and return even though an hour ride.
Food was absolutely delicious, a lot pricey but great quality fresh seafood.
Service was fast and the food was excellent I would recommend to my friends
One of my favorite restaurants in Newburyport. Beautiful scenery whether you are seated in the front or back of the restaurant. Outdoor dining in summer is fun. Light and airy feel at the back of the restaurant. Waiters are fun with really cute shirts with various sayings, "Check out my mussels." Food is always excellent...great fried clams, probably the best I've ever had. Delicious burgers and fries. My husband loves their Island Chicken, a sweet sauce with tender chicken. I always order shrimp cocktail. You can choose how many shrimp you want and they are big and crisp. The Caesar salad is crisp and not over loaded with dressing. Really excellent drinks. Love this place.
We loved everything we got from appetizers, meals, drinks, and desserts. So delicious and unique.
Group of 8. Sat outside. Was awesome!
The peel and eat shrimp were good but you could take them down a size and provide more (it's the experience that's the fun)
The mussels in curry sauce were only OK - I would not get them again, also very small.
The fish tacos were very good but basic.
The atmosphere is too bright for me, the prices don't say "seafood cafe with bar"
I would like to see these dishes on your menu:
Whole fish ((it's the experience that's the fun))
Fish en Papillote
"Mushy peas" for the fish and chips
Various flat fish
Large fillets of Cod or Sea Bass
Very loud, service was slow but food was on point. Delicious & price was fair for amazing seafood
A unique restaurant which has two outside table seating accommodations, Market Street and Ocean View. Inside it is festive but loud. Food selection is very good and my wife is GF. Our meals came out on time, hot and delicious. The server was good but lacked enthusiasm that night.
Food was awesome
As usual the food was reliable and the seafood fresh. The staff is very nice. A great option in Newburyport.
Oysters were fresh & tasty, Tuna was nicely done. Service was efficient, nice everyday eatery
The black ink linguine w/shrimp was delicious.
Monday night dinner, the restaurant was pretty slow. Had a dozen oysters, plus the seafood pie and baked scallops. All were delicious.
This is a fine seafood restaurant on the North Shore. Dover Sole as a special and pan fried Just right. Good oysters and a lot of variety . Plan ahead and good luck finding parking. On our next trip we will park out of town and Uber in.
Date night with my wife at near by restaurant was nice. Gary the server was energetic and friendly. His customer service skills were excellent. Food was good. Good place for fish on Friday’s for Lent.
Good reservation process, seated quickly, server was attentive, fun atmosphere, lively, food was just as expected. Thank you.
Went for my husband’s 52. Had a reservation but sat at the bar instead. The two women (Shannon is one) are fabulous. Food was delicious. A local gem for us.
Excellent service. Nice view of the water and the park. The Bloody Mary was bland and the beer selection was not the most appealing to me. The chowder was unbelievably delicious- perhaps the best ever ! And my lobster BLT on naan bread was very tasty. I would leave the nachos though. I will definitely return and give it another shot. Cool bar!
Did not care for the table in the front near the kitchen door, very brightly light and noisey. I asked hostess if we could sit elsewhere and she stumbled on words and didn’t try to accommodate. We would have waited. Signature drink (martini) was warm and served with old lemon, different experience than last visit.
We went to Sea Level to celebrate my mother in laws birthday. I noted that we were celebrating her birthday on the reservation. When we walked in, the hostess wished her a happy birthday, and then our server wished her a happy birthday. She felt like a queen. The service, especially from Gary, was excellent - he is a true professional. The food was delicious and was plated beautifully. It was a great experience all around and we look forward to returning. Thank you to the staff for helping to create a memorable evening!
Great service & the food was delicious.
Great food and good amount of it. With older people and it was hard to hear and the place was not that full. Must be lovely in the summer with the glass garage doors open. Good location. I think it is a quintessential New England restaurant in a very historic setting. Nice for a birthday, date, out of town visitor or that kind of thing. Does not focus on fried food. All plates had a good balance of protein, carbs and fat. To me the deserts were an attempt at being artistic (and delicious) but failed. They were good but not culinary masterpieces or up to par with the main meal. I felt it lacked talent on the cook's part and needed to be elevated to be less messy. Large sizes and good for splitting.
Everything was excellent. A bit pricy but not terribly do
Our reservation was at 7:45 and I felt like the waitstaff and the kitchen were a little out of gas by the time we got to entrees. The dining room emptied and we had to find our waitress to get more water and the sauce for the scallops.
The appetizers were amazing - octopus, RI calamari and oysters....These might be the best oysters I ever had - the appetizers were all good. The entrees were less impressive - we all had the steak tip and scallop special. The steak was good but the scallops were overdone, small and rubbery.
Our waitress was sweet but inattentive. It felt like the end of the night...and it felt as if they wanted us to leave.
We were seated within a few minutes. Had a corner table which was perfect. Oysters were fun! Drinks were good. Food was excellent.
The halibut was the fish of the day and done just right. The side of vegetables exceeded what you normally get in both variety and amount. The server was friendly and knowledgable. The atmosphere was perfect, lively but not noisy. And, they had my favorite beer.
We were seated in the front room. The kitchen door does no swing closed apparently so we were treated to a flood of light & the sound of pots & pans banging- totally ruined the evening
Overall a great night. food was excellent. service was a bit off however.
We had a reservation for a party of 6 at 7:30pm tonight, on Saturday night. We were seated and after 10-15 minutes, had to go find the hostess to request that someone wait on us:( Then the swordfish arrived barely at room temperature, but the sides were warm, so I mixed the food together to warm it all. Would not consider sending it back, too much waiting! Disappointing!!!
We waited a long time for anyone to come over. It turned out our waiter didn't know he had our table. When we ordered drinks, it took so long to bring them over that our meals came out before we had gotten our drinks. They did comp us those drinks, and the manager came over to apologize, so that was nice, but still not a great experience. The food itself was good.
It was our first time (recommended by a friend) and we really enjoyed it. The special was great and my husband had the fried clams and he said they were great as well.
