Sea Glass Bistro & Lounge
The food was really good but the waiter ruined the vibe.
Great place to eat outside, behind the glass on the patio. Limited menu, but good food.
The food was amazing! Definitely coming back on my next trip.
Nice restaurant with a great view of the beach, although located in a rather uninspiring hotel. One odd thing, the menu which appears on OpenTable is NOTHING like what it was once we arrived at the restaurant? Luckily, we found a great dish, but the selection was not very big.
Great service, gorgeous view and excellent food. Diamond in the rough.
Loved the location - great view, small crowds so noise level was low. Great food and service!! Thank you!!
The Mac and cheese was so watery it was actually cheese-like soup with noodles, and almost completely flavorless. The crab in it seemed to have come from a can. Considering the prices and that we could see the ocean from our table (that part of the evening was great), canned seafood wasn’t our expectation. The Caesar salad also had what was called smoked salmon but looked suspiciously like salmon from a can.
Our waters weren’t refilled once and the other drinks we ordered were completely forgotten and never delivered. This truly was a dining experience so bad that we had to laugh.
We had many different choices of dishes from appetizers to salads to entres. We had very good food: crab/mango/cheese quesadilla and halibut and chips. The wine choices leave a lot to be desired, however. We also ate breakfast there and were very happy with the choices and quality and service for those two breakfast experiences.
Socially distant, indoor dining with cocktails, What a treat! Since this place is right across the road from us, I can see us eating here regularly.
Well, remember this is a hotel restaurant. The parking is great. The service was great. The food was 3.1 stars. The drinks are a bit over priced. At least it's a full bar. The view is excellent. You're overlooking the beach at sunset. Outside there are tables with fire pits for warmth. Wheel chair bound people will not be able to get down those stairs.
The atmosphere was beautiful, and the waitress was very kind. The only issue I had was my mashed potatoes were very cold and bland. I had the flourless chocolate torte for dessert and it was delicious! Otherwise we had a wonderful evening!
The front desk staff was the best part of the night. The room was literally just a room with two small tables and 6 chairs thrown in. There was no tablecloth, water glasses or anything else to set any kind if ambiance. We were there for valentine's dinner, so it would have been nice to at least have a table cloth on the tables. The room was $16 plus a $30 service fee PLUS a $30 automatic gratuity...so $76 just to be there. You order your food using the room phone, it took an hour for the food to arrive, we had ordered cocktails and they came with the food, that was the only service, one person delivering the food on a cart wheeled to the door, then we had to take it from there to the table and serve ourselves.....I understand that the whole thing is to be covid safe but I dont feel the $76 of extra fees is warranted.
Covid has too many restrictions on these restaurants and Oregon just lifted their's to 25% capacity -- otherwise, we believe service would have been outstanding.
Valentine’s dinner outing. Went very well. Food was great and decent price.
Birthday celebration with friends was excellent.
I had fish and chips, and it was excellent. The service was also very good.
Don’t suggest with the menu being so limited.
Had a fantastic dinner out!
Good food, private room with outstanding view,
Definitely doing this again.
Online menu is not the same as the in-house menu and is VERY limited. Good idea but need to do something about the menu and the appetizers not impressed with the dip was very runny and the tomatoes where warm..
What a creative idea! We loved being able to "dine out" on NYE when all of the restaurants were still take-out only. The service was friendly and the food great. Thank you.
Maybe it was my expectation level, but... I saw a menu on line but apparently they don't serve most if any of those dishes after Covid hit. 4 Entrees and mac & cheese and fish and chips are 2 of the 4. This is a dinner menu? You could get a burger or basic salad...no chef's salad even! The front desk seemed unprepared for us and scrambled for menus (xerox copies of mostly bar items with a few food dishes). We checked ourselves into our room and poured some wine (which you can bring in). Good view, no glass glasses or place settings or table set-up. I was told that's it for food (paper menu). We had a shot from the bar and left. Sooooo disappointed. My wife's birthday and a big bust.
btw...take the menu off the website if you don't serve the food anymore! duh...
Brilliant idea to turn oceanfront hotel room into a private dining room via room service. Food was wonderful, view was gorgeous, so grateful for this creative way to dine out safely.
Love the idea. Limited menu which is understanding, but was a great night out.
The staff were great. It was so nice to get out for dinner. Check in was easy and once we got to the room picking out dinner and ordering was easy. The wait staff was helpful and appreciated. The food was excellent. My entire family enjoyed it. I know they're just starting this and hope to expand, I hope when they do they expand the menu beyond room service and add breakfast. I'll definitely go again. Thank you for adapting to the situation.
It was very nice having a private room with the view and hearing the ocean while we ate. The food was delicious. Everyone was friendly.
Great place to enjoy a tasty meal, with an incredible view to boot!
Great view and food. Service was also top notch. We had the albacore tuna wrap and it was delish.
It was a short menu and the selections seemed somewhat ordinary. Wrong. The style and execution were beyond the menus description. The chef knows what he is doing and you can expect a wonderful meal.
Great food very nice attmosphere........great view...and good service....I will go back next time in town .......
Menu was different than was available only and not at all worth the money.
I had the small plate calamari. It was crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Cooked perfectly, but very little flavor. My husband had the halibut fish and chips, and it was excellent. Both were served in very generous portions. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the chef came around asking how our meal tasted. Even though I had noted on our reservation that this was a “birthday” dinner, there was no special recognition of that. I was disappointed.
The pasta with chicken was delicious. The marionberry crisp was fabulous for dessert. For a hotel restaurant I’d give it an A.
Food is the quality you would expect from Applebees or similar chain restaurant. Ambiance is pleasant enough. It is definitely a "hotel restaurant" not a good option for a night out.
The view, the food and our charming Italian waiter made dinner just about perfect. The next morning, breakfast was equally pleasant with a lovely waitress making it feel like home. The convenience of just taking the elevator to dinner made this all the better.
We ate at this restaurant because we did not want to drive any more that day. It was a pleasant experience with a great view of the ocean. The menu and wine list were both very limited. On a recommendation from front desk staff my husband and I both ordered the Thai steak sandwich which was delicious. The sandwich and fries were both served hot. We shared a side salad which was just average. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and would eat there again.
We ate at the Sea Glass Bistro three times during our stay at the Best Western Agate Beach. I read the reviews and they said the menu was different than the menu on Open Table so we were prepared for a different selection. The first night we both had the sirloin steak and it was excellent. We also at breakfast the next morning and it was so large we saved half for the following morning. That evening we had the burger and the Louie Salad. Both again were delicious. Later we went back and ordered a dessert for our room, the chocolate espresso brownie with vanilla ice cream. It too was delicious. We had the same waitress as we had two years ago so it was like coming back home to eat at a familiar place. Afterwards we went and sat by the fire ring which was lit in the sand pit be the patio. We had a wonderful time and the smoke had cleared out so we could enjoy ourselves.
This is fourth or fifth time I/we have eaten here in the past two months. Still terrific burgers, flavorful and juicy! Last evening, two of us ordered the ribeyes and they came out cooked to perfection. Nancy, our server, is sweet, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Wanted to sit outside but due to fires, the air quality kept us inside. Pacing of our meals is always spot on.
First of all, do not rely on the menu posted on Open Table. In reality it is a fraction of that. It consists mostly of what I would consider bar food. The fish and chips were heavily breaded. So were the asparagus spears from the appetizer menu. So much breading that the items doubled in size. The service was slow, but the server was very nice and attentive. There was no wine menu, so I had to guess at ordering a glass of wine, which was a decent glass of wine.
Food is very good, service is great. Of course, odd during the covid shutdown. Probably best to reserve a table.
Great views, food okay but given the supply chain. Service was great! I’d certainly go back again!
