The Sea Crab House is a welcome addition to Bend as a seafood-specific offering. The prices for the boils are quite high, very likely beyond what most people want to spend for a very casual restaurant. Although we are used to spending a lot on restaurant dining, we opted for dishes which were better value, and were not disappointed. The margaritas were not nearly as good as we would have liked. The server was very good. I would recommend the restaurant only for the non-boils. It could be that we someday try the boils, but given that we vacation in Maine and do our own boils for about 20% of this cost, it's not highly likely.

disappointing. the shrimp stuffed avocado was tasteless and I had to ask for dressing on the salad. the gumbo was kinda dry and bland. clams were few in the clam chowder which was very buttery and heavy. we ordered the fish and chips with the cajun fries, but they were delivered plain, the solution was to give us a cup of cajun seasoning to apply to the fries... not great customer service. the breading on the fish was light and i liked it, but my partner felt queasy after eating, or maybe it was the price for such lame food, it's quite expensive. we'd much rather take a trip to the coast... now we know.

Thursday night reservation for 3. Only party there initially, and service was bad. Had to keep getting up to ask for refills on drinks which was weird because we were legitimately the only table for a bit. Shortly after one other couple came In promptly ate and left. The food was honestly really good. Price was a little high for portion size. I wouldn’t attach my name to a recommendation.

Ok overall, we had crab, shrimp boils with potatoes and corn. the potatoes had no flavor. Some of the shrimp after shelling did not feel very fresh, same for the crab. Prices are kind of outrageous. Also they added a 20% tip because our party consisted of 5 adults and 3 kids... Service was not bad but 15% would have been more like it. I would have been ok with 15% and if the service, along with the food , would have been better I would have happily paid the 20%. Should be my choice not theirs. Not doing it again...

The food was good. The butter garlic needs to be more potent. It was a little weak. They nickel and dime you for the sides, even though we bought a full lobster, $75. You would think two or three potatoes and a couple of pieces of corn, on the cob, should be included with the cost. We expected it to be expensive, so the experience, overall, was a good one. Great service!

We had the crab artichoke dip and a 2lb crab/1lb shrimp boil w corn and potatoes. Plenty of food for 2! Not sure if the guy in the Skipper hat was the owner or not- but if so keep up the playlist we loved it hahahaha

We had a great time dining here! We built our own boil and the food was amazing! We felt like we were at the Oregon coast. We definitely plan on coming back soon and ordering other things off the menu we wanted, but were too full to try. We’re so glad we have a charming place like this in town!

The food is really really great! We had a variety of items, with the crab boil being our main focus. The crab cakes we got were really yummy: only crab, not fillers, and the coating was light & crunchy. The fish & chips - cod - were big & chunky and the tartar sauce was perfect. The fish tacos got a big thumbs up, as well. The corn and potatoes that came with the boils were perfectly tender, and we ordered the SEA Special sauce which is so good we could drink it! Highly recommend and worth every penny!

My wife really wanted to try out the SEA Crab House in Bend ever since they opened, so I decided to surprise her by taking there on her birthday. My wife does not do spicy, so when we were ordering the boil, we specifically told the waitress no spice. She recommended the SEA Crab seasoning and stated she can just tell the kitchen no spice. We recapped the order with the waitress and I had asked again, "the Sea Crab seasoning is not spicy, correct?". She believably assured me, it will not be spicy. When we received the boil, it looked very well seasoned (which I am all for), but the first bite was insanely spicy. My wife tried it and ended up not being able to eat it was so spicy. Now I love spicy things, but it was even hot to me... The waitress came by to ask us how the food was, I let her know that it was extremely spicy. She apologized and went on her way. Not even 5 minutes later, my wife wanted to go because she couldn't eat it. She wanted to take it home and try to rinse it off, hoping that would help. I then called the waitress over and asked for our bill. She proceeded to say she's sorry and said she had told the kitchen it was spicy. We got our bill, boxed up the boil and left. This was one of the worst experiences ever. They messed up the food so bad, my wife couldn't eat it and did nothing to suffice the situation. We paid nearly $250.00 and were sent home extremely disappointed. We did order some other food items there for our daughter, but they were over-cooked and inedible. My wife broke dowm in tears during our ride home because her birthday was ruined. I could have spent less than $200.00 at one of the best places to eat in downtown Bend and would have left happy, full and eager to go back again. Instead we tried the SEA Crab House and left hungry, wasted $250.00 and ruined the day of the most important person in my life. I would love my money back so I can take my wife to a place where will have a world-class experience.

I was highly disappointed in the SEA Crab House. We had looked forward to going there. They were out of oysters. The fish and chips were the worst I had ever had. Burnt batter and soggy fries. I am not sure what they are trying to accomplish, but it's not working, and I think this place ( unless they figure out what is going on in the kitchen) will be gone soon. A shame.

I had high hopes for this place even though the reviews haven't been that good. I really wanted to have a good meal. The waitress was great. Very friendly and explained how the menu worked. They had a big tank with fresh crabs running around in it. I figured that the crab was going to be really good because it would be so fresh. Quite the contrary. We ordered the Dungeness crab and shrimp platter. 2 lbs of crab. When it arrived the crab on the plate was very small. They included the top of the crab with had nothing in it but left over guts. I tried a shrimp first because they looked appetizing. I was disappointed. It had no flavor and was mushy (over cooked) Then I went in for a leg of crab. I opened it up as to my dismay there was no meat in it.! Nothing! Going thru the rest of the crab I found the same and the legs that did have a small bit the meat i was stringy and grey in color. There were a few shrimp that were good but it was hit and miss. We told the waitress about the crab and she had the manager come over. She was nice and she did reduce our bill by 15 percent. Our bill was still 95.00. We had 2 drinks which were fine and some garlic bread. I didn't taste any garlic on it but at least it filled me up. Unless they make some big changes to the food at this place I think it will be closed within the next 6 months. That's my prediction. People in Bend like good food so I don't think they will make it. So sad

Very enjoyable dinner. I had heard some negative comments, but this is a very new restaurant which opened during a labor crisis. Whatever problem others had did not exist last night, food and service were both very good. As far as ambiance and food, it reminds of a mid-Atlantic crab house, and, in my opinion, the only good thing about the mid-Atlantic region IS the seafood. I will definitely return, and that is the real test!

The picture on Open Table is not what the food looks like at all. Presentation of food was very poor. We ordered drinks and calamari appetizer, and clam chowder to start. The clam chowder was good. There were four of us and they forgot my clam chowder. When it came they overfilled the cup and it was dripping off the side of the cup and all over the plate. The calamari was over fried and they just threw it on top of wilted lettuce. You got two tablespoons of cocktail sauce. The drinks were okay but not good. I ordered a Bloody Mary and decided to have another and it came with no straw and no garnish and was worse than the first. My other guest got the wrong drink. We ordered a boil with shrimp and king crab which was very expensive but crab was good and shrimp huge. What really bothered me is they charge you $2 for each HALF corn on cob and $1 for each SMALL yellow potato. For the price of the seafood you would think the side dishes would not be separate. Very expensive, no ambiance and not worth the price. We will not be going back. Too bad we were so excited for the restaurant to open.
