We are very excited to see Chef Don Gonzalez at Sea Change. He brings a lot of creativity and experience, and we'll be anxious to see what he comes up with.
Very limited menu. Waiter pushed his choices for poultry & bacon marinated seafood despite 1 diner being vegetarian. Unfamiliar with some item ingredients & went back to kitchen twice for details. Kitchen server put down wrong meals. Dishes were not served hot. Do not think either of our fish dishes were properly cooked. Overall an unpleasant dining experience. Had to get bill corrected due to addition of a salad that was not part of order. Will not return.
Lovely, so very lovely, in every way.
We came for brunch before a Sunday matinee at the Guthrie. Our server, Matthew, was friendly and attentive and allowed us to take our time ordering. We shared the omelette of the day -- with brussels sprouts and bacon. It came with a mixed green salad with a terrific light dressing. Absolutely delicious. We then shared the crab cake benedict, which was just ok. Not bad but nothing exceptional. Finally, we ordered the only dessert they offer at brunch, vanilla ice cream topped with hot espresso and two chocolate chip cookies. Delicious. We concluded our brunch with a cappuccino, and we were on our way. We enjoyed a leisurely, tasty meal for under $30 each. Of course, we had no alcohol, but it really was a perfect pre-theatre experience.
We made later reservations to celebrate our anniversary knowing it would be busy before a show at the Guthrie. We were warmly greeted and immediately given a table. They knew it was our anniversary so they brought us each a glass of the bubbly. Our server was friendly and attentive. Only problem was half the entree items were sold out due to the busy dinner crowd earlier.
So while we enjoyed our meals, they weren’t our first choices. I would suggest not going after the theatre crowd true to this. It would be a great place to have a drink anytime. Wonderful atmosphere and service.
Food is always excellent, and our server (Joanne) is always outstanding. My wife has numerous food allergies, and the the kitchen is always very careful to check allergies and dishes.
I would not suggest Sea Change to a friend.
The service was slow.
We arrived early for our reservation and had little time before the Guthrie event.
The portions were unbelievable small. Dessert was nothing more then a taste. Never again!
Pour tuna carpaccio and beet salad were excellent. The steelhead was good but the additional fixings were cold. Don’t know if that was intended. The pasta was tough and dry. We felt it had been forgotten as service seemed slow. This meal was not up to Sea Change usual standard.
Service was excellent. Food was superb - the octopus was outstanding.
Great option before a show!
Nice variety to choose from and a good wine list too!
Service was exceptional!!!
Will always be on the rotation.
The food was excellent! Our favorites: the tofu and the tuna carpaccio!
Visited Sea Change for Easter Sunday brunch. I would have liked more seafood selections, but the crabcakes were wonderful and the waitstaff very thoughtful without intrusion.
One of my all time favorites and in the neighborhood
The week-end brunch before the Sunday matinee is wonderful. Have done it a number of times and will do it again for our next show.
This was my first visit there. I had tickets for the Guthrie. Good choice and good recommendations by my server, Joanne.
Sea Change never disappoints. It is the perfect place for a delicious dinner with impeccable service. Perfect place for pre-theater dining. The service is efficient and unobtrusive. This is one of the few restaurants where it is possible to have a quiet conversation. The tables are placed so that one doesn't feel crowded. We love to dine at Sea Change.
Great service, nice menu selection, perfect location to dine prior to theater event, comfortably intimate, reasonable pricing.
Great service. Food is excellent and presented beautifully. Relaxing place to dine before a show at the Guthrie.
Perfect for pre-theater dinner for The Guthrie!
Great food and great service. We will definitely return.
We were wowed by our meals. Tagliatelle with smoked sturgeon is light and feels like a cross over to spring dining. A few tweaks and it will make a great dish for the spring menu. The cod was an interesting surprise. Cod with potatoes is pretty standard but add in cabbage and a sauce with a hint of caraway and maybe some mustard and it takes the dish to another level. It was fantastic - a great start to our evening and the weekend. Thanks!
This is a great place for pre-performance dinner enroute to the Guthrie. Service, menu, food—wonderful!
Food was mediocre at best. Tuna and octopus were the worst dishes and the beets with smoked trout was the best. Brussels sprouts disappointing and soft/soggy. I would have definitely preferred to spend the money elsewhere but it was convenient to get to the theater. Service was nice.
Sea Change is always good, but this was better than usual. The lovely Olivia escorted me to my table, where I met the equally charming Jubilee, who served me a Work in Progress cocktail and six sweet, fresh oysters. So far, so good, or I should say great. How I had failed to try the biscuits, gravy, and poached eggs until now I don't know, but it was a perfect dish, with a glass of California pinot noir. A cup of cappuccino finished the meal and sent me to the theater to see "Indecent", a wonderfully moving play at the Guthrie.
Everyone should try Sea Change, oysters, biscuits and gravy, and a play at the Guthrie.
Wonderful weekend brunch before matinee at the Guthrie. Unlimited mamosi, even one to take to the show.
Food was a little salty. And nothing was memorable, just ok. And for the price it would have been to have memorable item or two. We had two apps to share and own entrees.
We were celebrating my partners birthday.
Reliably great food, attentive service, attractive atmosphere. Though we try other restaurants, Sea Change always draws us back.
delicious, artistically presented entree. Quiet environs and attentive wait staff.
This restaurant has TERRIFIC food and friendly, fun and professional service...just the right combo of informality and excellence. The environment is classy, creative and artful, of course. It attracts and interesting group of people that adds to the ambiance.
We made reservations to lunch during break from an event. They changed the menu to only 6 items but did not tell us ahead of time. Choices were not very interesting. Salad was heavily dressed. Soup had limited taste. Fried fish sandwich lacked seasoning and flavor. I was really looking forward to a special lunch from the interesting regular menu. Big let down.
The menu was very limited. As the event I attended was scheduled with a know number of attendees, the Sea Change was not really ready to handle the crowd. The wait staff were very nice though.
Awesome! Food, people atmosphere......delightful.
Excellent meal, service, and ambience.
Joann is AMAZING!!! Knowledgeable and personable... made the evening a complete experience!! The octopus is a MUST!!
We were expecting a lot more. Service was amateur, for example, when clearing dishes, he stopped by with his hands full with other’s dishes and asked us to stack ours on top. Bread was not warm and crust was not crispy. When a second container was brought out, is was warm and crispy. The butter was delicious. The shrimp cocktail had a very plain presentation and the shrimp were rather small. The cocktail sauce was more of a chutney and not memorable. Beet salad was ok. Smoked salmon didn’t have much of a smoked flavor, and portion was small. So nothing bad but quite disappointing.
Our evening at Sea Change was a completely terrific experience. Started with great cocktails in the bar and moved to the raw bar for dinner. We were treated like royalty and had nice interaction with the staff preparing our meal. Our questions were answered in great detail and tastes of items that we were curious about were offered. We ate a delicious and very well prepared selection of East coast oysters. The langoustines were a highpoint as well at the smoked sturgeon tagliatelle. We will definitely be dining there again, and again...
There was nothing bad about my experience. We were celebrating a birthday, which was acknowledged by the hostess, and we were seated promptly. The server was very approachable and friendly, and checked on us enough that didn't feel overbearing. Now: the food was not bad by any means. We started with the octupus which was mindblowing - texture was like butter, they were seared to perfection and the flavors lingered for the rest of the night. Honestly my favorite meal. I had the artic char for the main, which was served well in its broth but fell short of groundbreaking. My partner had the beef ribeye which looked great, but cooked a little too far past medium rare. As mentioned before, we didn't dislike anything so we said nothing. Sea Change was a good ambient experience, but didn't shine in anything we had but the octupus and my thyme bourbon cocktail.
We had a spectacular time with Lindsy! Thanks to the kitchen team for a delicious meal!
Have to start with oysters for the table.
Tuna carpaccio- always a favorite! My date was unsure about the Langoustines, but I think he’ll be back just for those!
Scallops and a rib eye for entrees. Perfectly prepared! Easily swapped bites between each other. Both so tasty.
We turned down dessert at first, but after more wine, the chocolate and peanut butter was calling our names. Yum!
