Our dedication to quality has been the foundation on which we have preserved our heritage. To preserve old traditions, but also remain competitive in today’s time, we are dedicated to offering local and always “Be Fresh” products.
Whether it is using local farmers for produce or outsourcing our seafood purchases to local fisherman, we strive to do business with natives and locals. We believe the Carolina’s have some of the best products and traditions in the world, which we want to convey to our guests.
Traditions cannot be carried on without a faithful and enthusiastic clientele, and for that we thank you.
We visited while on early Christmas vacation. Our food and service were AMAZING. Our waitress was very attentive. I wish I had did this review immediately after so I could name drop. I had the salmon, OMG, it was unbelievable. And the hush puppies! WOW! Even if you dont enjoy your food, the view makes it 100% worth it. It was beautiful.
We have been at your Restaurant many times this is the first time the service was bad our waitress abandoned us not sure if she went home or what we had to get a hostess get our bill so we could pay it
We went on a friend’s recommendation. The food was outstanding and the service was great!
A very enjoyable experience; a visit from the manager telling us the history of the house and an extremely efficient server, Melissa. The food was outstanding and well presented; a wonderful lunch.
Everything we had was delicious. Started with she crab soup which we were told was “award winning” and I must say it lived up to our expectations! Hush puppies were perfect, crisp on outside and tender inside. Husband had broiled seafood platter which he loved. I took the recommendation of our waiter and had pecan crusted grouper - fabulous! But no room for dessert.
We have been going to the Sea Captain's House for years and have loved the food and the setting by the ocean. We actually had only been for breakfast and lunch mainly and tried dinner this time. It was absolutely delicious.
Been here numerous times over the last decade or so. Always a good meal. They have more than just seafood if that's not your thing, but I can't speak to that as I come here for seafood...
We took old friends here for dinner. This was their first visit to this area
I had requested a quiet location, but we were seated on the largest of the enclosed terraces.
It was noisy and there was a family with an unhappy toddler nearby.
The waitress was lovely.
The salad was average and was my choice. As a "dinner" salad, I expected
a bit more creativity. There were 3 fish dishes. One was cold and the others lukewarm.
We did not try the desserts. I think we were a bit wary.
It was Sunday and perhaps the weekday chef was not on.
We have eaten here before with good results. We are not sure if it was an off
night or perhaps the lace is resting on its laurels.
Staff was lovely.
This was our second time at Sea Captain’s House. Once again, the food was amazing. The service was great, as well. We will definitely be making a reservation for our next trip to the area.
My seafood was raw & we didn’t have knife/fork & napkin until app came.
We have found a new favorite restaurant. The most fresh & clean Fried Shrimp I have had. And the Moscow Mules are good too.
It was excellent and we are thinking of going back for a second visit before we leave!
Everything that we had at Sea Captain’s House was amazing! We had the crab stuffed flounder and salmon and would highly recommend to others!
Ate here recently on vacation. 2 couples. We all enjoyed our food. Service was great. Hush puppies best we’ve ever eaten. Highly recommend.
Our server Jesse was so personable and friendly. Very efficient. Described the menu and specials really well. Food was delicious!
We've eaten at the Sea Captains' House before and everything was great but this time was lacking. The fish was not done and the waitress seemed to have other things on her mind. She was not very attending.
Very nice, very good seafood. They have been here a long time and know how to deliver the goods.
We couldn’t have asked for a better night out
Great atmosphere, great service, great people, and great food!
'Excellent food and service. Were there for my birthday. Surprised us with a delicious dessert big enough for two to enjoy.
We have dined here before and any time we are in Myrtle Beach we make it a habit of enjoying a great meal at Sea Captains. The meal was excellent and the the service was superb our waitress Danielle made sure that we weren’t rushed.
On the reservation said it was my wife’s 50 and they didn’t acknowledge it. Our server was awesome and made the experience much better than it would have been. Food was average but the prices are to expensive for what you get. I’m surprised at the previous reviews. Makes me think people are just use it overpriced items that are average at best. I won’t be going back for dinner.
Breakfast was on this visit. Service and food were very good.
Quaint restaurant with excellent food and a beautiful view of the ocean. Reserve window seating ahead of time.
Good experience. Only comment is the timing between soup salad and entree came almost all at once.
The food was great. The service was great. Sitting next to a patron with a so-called "emotional support" dog; not so great. Animals don't belong in restaurants.
The service was great. Our server was very attentive and friendly. However, I was so excited to have flounder for dinner once more while visiting Myrtle Beach, unfortunately this time my half portion ( the lighter size) was dry and didn’t taste fresh. My husband’s full size flounder was fresh and delicious. The salads were good and hushpuppies as always were yummy. Overall good, but not excellent.
Wonderful food and service!!
The food is excellent. The noise level was a little loud but there was a birthday celebration going on with a relatively large group. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. And we will be going back.
Another very good experience at the Sea Captain’s House. When we visit MB, we like to have lunch or dinner here. Food is always great. This time however, service, was slow. Waited a long time for entree and manager stopped by table to apologize. He should have offered a dessert but didn’t. Ambiance is excellent with ocean a short distance away. Will be back.
My stirfry was a bit saucy, ie: rice swimming in sauce.
They did accommodate our celebration request to sit oceanfront. That made a great impression. Our waitress was awesome. Very high prices.
Always visit at least once during out stay. Never disappoints. Best she-crab soup ever. Be back soon!
Service was outstanding & food was delicious. Pretty noisy.
Food was fabulous! Our dinner was so good, we returned for brunch on our last day in Myrtle Beach. Will spread the word to friends who visit your area. Thank you for great surroundings, service and best food!
I hear of people saying all the time, "I went there because they had great reviews". I actually know that feeling well myself. I can only speak for me. My wife and I ate there a few years back. I had remembered it to be good, but pricey. So, since I didn't remember it being bad, I tried it again. There's a reason a place has been in business for 57 years and I'd say that reason is, it's good. Our waiter who's name I didn't catch, was probably one of if not the best we've ever had. The food was really good. The only complaint I had was my initial, it's pricey! 2 meals with 1 beer and water was $62 dollars and I left a tip bringing total bill to $80. We have a seafood restaurant here in my hometown that same meal would've saved me at least $20. But then here isn't right on the beach, so maybe that makes up for it. I give it 5 stars though, because OUR experience was flawless.
Had heard great things about this Establishment and was there once many years ago for breakfast.
Went for dinner and had the fried seafood combination. Never saw a piece of flounder that I had which was that THICK. The fried seafood was not crisp at all. Scallops were good m, shrimp very small.
My wife had the filet. Ordered it medium and came medium well to well.
The best part of the meal was the she crab soup which was delicious.
I am a Myrtle Beach resident and not a tourist and I can say that I will not be back. Price v quality just don't match up.
