Sea Captain's House
Our dedication to quality has been the foundation on which we have preserved our heritage. To preserve old traditions, but also remain competitive in today’s time, we are dedicated to offering local and always “Be Fresh” products.
Whether it is using local farmers for produce or outsourcing our seafood purchases to local fisherman, we strive to do business with natives and locals. We believe the Carolina’s have some of the best products and traditions in the world, which we want to convey to our guests.
Traditions cannot be carried on without a faithful and enthusiastic clientele, and for that we thank you.
Waiter was extremely good. Refilled our drink before it got 1/3 empty. Very friendly. Food was served quickly.
Always have a wonderful meal at The Sea Captains House. Best shrimp in the Carolina’s. Service is always great.
We truly enjoyed the service that we received. Am so glad that Kevin @ Marriott Dunes Spa recommended this place. Our waiter was outstanding.
One of the best fillet mignon’s I have had in years.
Waitress Kailey was great, very personable and friendly will be dining there in the future.
Tiffany was very good. Thanks. No one acknowledged our anniversary though which I put on open table. No big deal. Server was great and food was good.
Second week in a row. Great Sunday specials first, red snapper and scallops and this day sea bass and shrimp. Deviating, I got the shrimp and oyster poor boy. Skimpy for price, tiny hoggy, 2 medium shrimp and two oysyers. Manager said it was by weight and not counts. I do not carry a scale, but do count. Get something else! Chowder had few clams, one piece of potato. Must have dipped from top....
Charming building, great view of water, good service, tasty food. Eat here every time we are in Myrtle Beach.
Outstanding service, delicious food, and I requested via OpenTable a seat with an ocean
view and got one of the very best seats in the house. Sea Captain’s grouper was delightful and we had a great evening!
We celebrated our 40th Anniversary in Myrtle Beach and thoroughly enjoyed the chef’s special sea bass. It was our second visit and we will definitely return.
The place I always take visitors! Great view, wonderful food, good service.
Very enjoyable experience. Hushpuppies were served with sweet butter. Quite tasty. The She Crab soup was rich and delicious. The stuffed flounder was "the best seafood I've had" according to my wife. I enjoyed the broiled scallops, but they were not as firm as I'd like them. Salads and sides we're good also. 2 entrees and 2 cups of soup (no drinks) added up to $100 when you include the tip.
Really good food. Service was not too good. Will definitely come again and hopefully have another waitress.
Unfortunately, there was a very loud party of young "adults" celebrating someone birthday as if they were in a sports bar. A real spoiler for the remaining adults in this fine restaurant.
Very ok. Well oiled machine.
Third trip. Never disappointed. Food fresh. Service great. Hosts courteous and seem genuine in thanking you as you leave. Old style courtesies.
Great food with a nice view of the ocean!
We made reservations for 5:15 and arrived on time. Hostess took us to table in the back of upper room. When we asked if we could sit instead at an empty table by the window she said that table was reserved for someone who made a reservation. When we said we made a reservation, she said no one had told her that! She then moved us downstairs to a table by the window. She was very accommodating and pleasant -- A+. Server was very efficient in the ordering process but to be honest he's a little loud. We asked that our meals not be served until after we finished our salad and soup, but the entrees came while we were only half-finished with the salad/soup. The server did notice this, apologized, and took our entrees back to stay warm until we were ready. Glad he noticed but would have been better if they had timed out correctly originally as requested.. I had the special seafood for the night and loved the presentation of the shrimp but was not overly impressed with the fish. My companion ordered two appetiers and soup. He felt the crab cakes were very good, lots of crab, and the scallops were tender. Once our entrees were served we were able to relax and noise subsided. We enjoyed our view and the rest of our experience. We were very appreciative of the manager (?) who visited our table as we were finishing. He was very pleasant and seemed genuinely interested and concerned to know we had a pleasant dining experience.
The food and service were both great. The crab dip was outstanding, and the ocean view from our window table was really nice.
Wonderful view! She crab soup was the best I have ever had.
The caliber of the food did not match the price, way too expensive.
I've been going to Sea Captain's house every time I visit Myrtle beach for the past six years.. The food is great, bar has a happy hour and the people who work here are the best! Sometimes I'm alone and I still have an enjoyable meal and great drinks. When I have family or friends with me I enjoy introducing them to this restaurant and they also have a great time and LOVE the food and drinks. They also have a Sunday brunch that is to die for! Everything from Eggs Benedict, carved meat, waffles and everything in between. It's all worth the price they charge. If your in the area I highly recommend that visit this restaurant. You won't be disappointed!
We had a wonderful lunch. The food was great & the view of the beach was terrific!
Seafood fresh. Service fine. However, lived up to the moniker---"Captain"----SALTY. Too much. We only ate half of our fried dish. Too much salt.
Very happy that this restaurant is now on Open Table. Service was efficient and friendly. Recommend: calamari, scallops and stuffed flounder. The ginger salad dressing is flavorful and a nice change from the normal offerings. We will return when we visit MB again.
Our dinners were cold when delivered. Server was nice, but did not come around to ask if everything was OK. We ate our fish (lukewarm), but did not eat the cold side dishes.
Great food! I had the stuffed flounder with crabmeat. My husband had the fried shrimp. The hush puppies are really yummy. Great view of the ocean too. Great service as well!
The best hush puppies and She crab soup. Very nice dinner too.
Fantastic food ...fantastic service....fantastic view.
We came here at the suggestion of my fiancé’s mom. She has been coming here since the house was a house.
It was so good! The service was fast. I believe our server was Lauren. She did a great job.
Definitely will come back the next time we are in the area!
Food was all excellent—loved the scallops and really liked the shrimp and grits! Waiter was knowledgeable and helpful in choosing wine as well as food. I had guests from Canada with me and they both want to come back next year!
Delicious meal, excellent service, and an amazing view. Sea Captain’s house continues to update, refine, and improve. They continue to be a “must-do” stop for any trip to MB.
Great service, no waiting for reservation, wonderful flavors and fantastic view on the ocean. Our waiter was exceptional!
We had a great first experience at sea Captain’s! Food was outstanding and fresh.
Food was mediocre at best. Scallops were grilled in some type of seasoning that unfortunately made the entire meal overly salty. Very disappointed for a $30 plus dollar meal. Will never return.
You pay for the view. The food is good but nothing that you can’t get other places all around. It’s a great place to dine while watching the beautiful ocean! If it’s too dark you will miss the view, which, I’m my opinion is main the reason to eat here.
Service and food was top notch and excellent...
Everything was excellent. We went for my Mom's birthday and they treated her like royalty.
Wonderful restaurant to dine at. Only problem was open table incorrectly booked our reservation when the restaurant was not open. We did have to wait 45 minutes for the restaurant to open up but they were gracious enough to let us wait at the bar.
This is one of my mother-in-laws favorite restaurants. My husband and I also visit you as much as possible when we are down at Murrells Inlet. The food is always delicious, the view magnificent, and the staff so warm and professional! I had the opportunity to lunch with my young adult daughter yesterday....just the two of us! What a great memory we will always have of that special moment! As always, thank you!
