Scuzzi's Italian Restaurant - Leon Springs

high priced without the service to go with the price. Bathrooms were not clean.
The food was just average. I had shrimp Suzzi and it was over cooked and dark on the bottom. The Tiramisu for dessert was very much not a quality that a good restaurant would be proud of. Over all was disappointing and was over priced for what we got.
Food was really good as always. Service was a little spotty as it was a slow dining room night (there was a large party in the private room). Was not offered a Restaurant Week menu.
Very nice evening with family members.
Great food! This is our go to place to eat with friends and family. Lunch menu is reasonable. The service is great.
Really consistent delicious food
We’ve been to Scuzzies before at a different location. This is a new location and we decided to try it. We loved it. Our server, Blue, was great, and the food excellent. I had linguine with clams. One of the best I’ve ever had. Wine , a good selection, was reasonably priced as well. Just an all around wonderful experience. We will definitely go back.
We were celebrating Father's Day and could talk as the noise level was moderate to low. The food was delicious and the service was very good. The food seems a bit high priced but the quality was excellent.
My husband was the only one who liked his food. My daughter's alfredo had a strange taste to it so she only ate the chicken. My trout was overly charred. My son ordered a pizza and it was just tomato sauce on a nondescript crust with mozzarella cheese. He took only one bite. The cheese was the only part of it that was good. My other son's chicken parmesan was okay. Our server was very good and attentive. The place was relatively empty but they seated another family right behind us so the noise level was a bit higher than we would have liked. On the back of the menu there were lunch specials that it said were seven days a week but after we were seated we were told that since it was Father's Day we had to order off the dinner menu. We have been to both locations of Scuzzi's before and in the past it has been a favorite restaurant. This is the last time we will go. We spent almost $130 for our meal (including tip) and only one of us was happy. Overpriced and below average experience.
The sea bass Scuzzi is delicious and the shrimp Scuzzi are always delicious as well!
Scuzzi's is my absolute FAVORITE Italian restaurant in San Antonio! The service, food and atmosphere are always on point. We have never left disappointed. The dishes are incredible and leave you wanting more.
Very loud. Waitress was sweet, responsive and courteous. Salad was dull and tasted old.
We walked in on a Friday evening at 6:45 and easily got a table. The calamari appetizer was excellent as was the side Caesar salad. The main entrees were okay (tenderloin special and eggplant Parmesan), perhaps because we were already stuffed. Service was great and the staff very friendly. Our waiter was excellent. An overall good experience for a place close to home.
Food was excellent. Service was as well. We wil be back!
The food and service are outstanding!
Excellent Mother's Day dinner for our whole family! Great service, great food, wonderful atmosphere! Couldn't have been a more pleasurable dining experience!
Always ask for Russell
My family and I had a great late lunch/early dinner on Easter. The veal Florentina was delicious and the service exceptional. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Food was great. Waiter was horrible. He was not customer focused. Every time we needed a refill he acted like we were bothering him. He was very rude. Not the service we expected from Scuzzis.
Probably my favorite restaurant in the area! Never fails to be a dining pleasure!
Well love Scuzzi’s. We always ask for our guy Russ. He makes the experience perfect every time. From the dinner selection to the wine, Russ knows. We always start with the a eggplant parmigiana, which is off before neither my husband or myself are fans of eggplant. It’s scrumptious. The fish specials are always great. We drive from downtown San Antonio to the Leon Valley Location, but only if Russ is there. Cheers! Enjoy.
My linguini pescatore was great, but my wife's salmon was not that good. Definitely worth another try.
The overall experience from reservation confirmation to exiting at the end of the evening was superb. Our waiter Russell, was the best waiter I’ve had in years, great job!!
We will return.
Dinner before Daddy Daughter dance .
Great food and service! Highly recommend clam soup and Veal Scallopini!
Service was very friendly and efficient.
Was very quiet enjoyed the cremates Bru le
We called a day in advance to request accommodations for a party of 19. They called me the morning of to confirm and said we would be in the party room. The room was very elegant and nicely set with an additional cake table. Our server, Ross (Russ? I'm so sorry) was excellent. He tended to the party as we arrived and the service was perfect. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We WILL be back soon
The restaurant was probably having a bad night, but they sure had trouble getting our order right. The mistakes began when a white sangria arrived, instead of the red one that was ordered, the salad delivered was also incorrect. After we had been there for an hour, three out of six of our meals were cold, and the pasta was mushy. The server was kind, and attentative, but as mentioned, made too many mistakes. At the end, we filled up on bread (which was the best part of the meal), and took home the rest of our meals home.
Our waiter was awesome! The atmosphere and the food were great!
At dinner this evening, there were three of us. We were there for my birthday. I booked reservations via open table, and were seated right away upon entering the restaurant.
Our server, Russell, was amazing! Throughout our entire experience at Scuzzi’s, none of us wanted for anything. Our glasses were filled without having to hunt anyone down to ask, he was very observant and well spoken... anticipating our next possible desires.
We ordered a Sampler Seafood Platter to start, which contained two scallops, a nice-size portion of calamari and two pieces of Scuzzi’s Famous, “Shrimp Scuzzi”. It was prepared fresh and it was hot when delivered, tasty and all spices were right on! Although this item is not on the current menu, it is available.
For main courses, one of my guests had spaghetti bolognese. She said the flavor was great, but was a little spicy. She also had a house salad which was served on a nice cold salad plate. The salad comes with a flavorful Italian vinegarette that she said was delicious. Another of my guests ordered the chicken picatta. It was his first time trying this dish ever, and I was a little concerned because he is a picky eater, but he hobbled his chicken down and practically licked the plate. He said the flavor was refreshing with the lemon, but not overpowering. The capers added just the right balance of salt to the sourness of the lemon. For my main course, I ordered angel hair pasta with a basil pesto cream sauce. OMG! I thought I died and went to heaven! Wonderful fresh basil turned into a heavenly sauce that I couldn’t get enough of... even though the portions sizes were more than adequate. The homemade bread that was brought to the table repeatedly, was crisp on the outside, moist and soft on the inside, and the oil and herbs that are served with it are unbelievable!
Requested high table none available ok not a problem. Was sat and 15 minutes later first drink of water finally rested upon my lip. Ordered drinks to set the mood since it is Valentine's day. Took a sip no bueno. Was horrible. Waitress says the bar tender is just a fill in for today, he usually a waiter or something. I ordered the seafood pasta. Food came it was flavorless to me. My wife enjoyed her pasta. Now granted I been to Italy a couple of times for a total of 75 days together so I might be biased. Well I don't think I will visit the one off 410 anymore will try a reshoot with the one off 1604 to see if it taste better. P.S. Waitress need to have better knowledge of menu, bare minimum offer water while we (the customer) glances at menu, service makes up for just bland and ok food and vice versa. This one the first open table booking I almost regret.
Eat there frequently. Super service and great food... though sometimes too much garlic. Good wine list.
restaurant wasn’t crowded but they sat 3 parties all in a row which made it almost impossible to hear the person sitting next to me. We were a party of 7 sandwiched between a party of 20 and 7.
They had an empty separate room that could of held the party of 20 or my group of 7.
Food was good and service was good but the fact that I had to listen to all the antics of the birthday party behind me complete with kids running around the restaurant was not pleasant. I am a mom of 3 and I get it but it was irresponsible of the restaurant to place that many guests on top of each other and not have the party of 20 have a separate for the birthday party.
Ruined the evening for me.
Excellent attentive service. Cocktails inconsistent. Too much pasta with chicken dishes
Very good food, enjoyed very much. Will definatley eat there again.
Love this restaurant! Best kept secret since they opened, with good food, great value and even when crowded it's a nice quiet romantic place for lunch or dinner.
The service seemed a little bit slow. We also had a dirty fork as well as a glass with crusty old food on it. Food was okay but overpriced.
Our meals were very good. Everyone shared the Italian Wedding Cake, really chosen for a birthday treat and the birthday song was sung in Italian. Unique!
Very slow service.
Appetizer was not large. The oyster appetizer was eaten in one bite. The waiter was very good and catered to our every need.
