Sparkling Wine$26.00
Vintage - Non-Vintage, Varietal - 100% French Colombard, Appellation - California, Acid - 0.60 g/100 ml, PH - 3.50, Residual Sugar - 0.25 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 11.00%, Wine Style - Sparkling, Volume - 750 ml. Sculpterra Winery is proud to introduce our first ever sparkling wine! What a lovely wine it is; concentrated with bouquets of toasted hazelnut, even bread crust and a hint of classic stone fruits. The fruit comes from the coastal regions of Central California and consist of 100% French Colombard. The fruit is grown for sparkling wine production and the grapes are picked at precisely the right time with proper sugar and acid balance in the berries. This wine's bright palate brings forth flavors of nectarine zest and ripe apple fill the sense as the bubbles protrude to the top of the glass. A lively lovely light taste and fresh acidity provide balance on the finish. Overall, it's fresh and silky, the palate shows cherry and a subtle note of nectarine drop. It's an incredible value and perfect for your celebration! The wine is tank aged for just a few months, therefore creating very fresh flavors and resolved acidity. This sparkling is produced by Méthod Charmat, in which secondary fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks and subsequently is bottled under proper pressure. The resulting wine is ready to drink upon bottling. Chill to 50 degrees for the best tasting experience!
2019 Sauvignon Blanc$26.00
Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Balakian Vineyard, Acid - 0.66 g/100 ml, PH - 3.58, Residual Sugar - 0.15 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 13.50%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 02/16/2020, Cases Produced - 392. Sculpterra's Sauvignon Blanc is always a super enjoyable wine; layered with high-tone tropical fruits like lemon and grapefruit, all highlighted by a clean and crisp finish. 2019 was the first vintage of Sauvignon Blanc from Sam Balakian's estate grown vineyard right next to SVP winery just outside of Shandon, CA. This new vineyard was planted in 2015 and is now in production with low yields and ripe flavors. 2019 was a stellar growing season; in fact, many Paso Robles growers and winemakers have already touted that 2019 will be the best vintage of the decade! The growing season was extended by a cooler than usual summer, creating matured phenolics in the berries and a heightened sense of ripeness. We harvested the fruit at optimum ripeness, thus capturing the grapes at the best time for good natural acidity and the sweetest taste possible. It has a garden-fresh quality that is very vibrant from start to finish. Overall, it's light-bodied and well balanced with classic aromas of key-lime, tart-apple and honeydew. The mouthfeel guarantees green apples and fresh chopped herbs, while citrus flavors move into juicy tangy pear and grapefruit on the palate. This wine has the most enticing nose of tropical aromas and tart passion fruit with juicy peach, lemon and orange citrus. The rounded palate combines fruity richness with poised, bright freshness that again sings of lime and lemon. This wine is lovely now; it is certain to evolve over the next few years. Unquestionably, it is made to drink upon release as it is now at the height of its freshest taste. Also, I taste a slight nutty smoke that evolves into hazelnut on the nose. Overall this is a great wine for a hot summer day and it pairs great with spicy Pad Thai Chicken or Shrimp. The grapes were immediately taken to the winery for processing following the overnight handpicking of the fruit. The young vines required that handpicking be accomplished to prevent any damage to the vines' young trunks and cordon wood. The fruit was whole-berry pressed and tank fermented for just less than one month. The juice was fermented without the presence of the skins, giving the wine a perfectly golden-yellow color. The wine aged in stainless tanks; no oak barrels were used in the making of this wine! Therefore, the wine is a true expression of the vineyard's fresh and young character. The wine did not undergo Malo-Lactic fermentation, resulting in a highly crisp and refreshing taste.
2019 Chardonnay$30.00
Appellation - Paso Robles, Acid - 0.68 g/100 ml, PH - 3.65, Residual Sugar - 0.25 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 13.50%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 03/19/2020, Cases Produced - 392. Sculpterra's 2019 Chardonnay shows off wonderfully clean, bright, and fresh vineyard aromas of apple, pear and nectarine, all framed with a streak of lively acidity. It's a light to medium bodied wine which is just perfect to compliment seafood dishes like lobster bisque or a slightly heavy food course like black-pepper turkey sausage and vegetable soup. 2019 was a tremendous vintage in the Paso Robles AVA, especially for cooler climate white varieties, like this delicious Chardonnay. We experienced cooler temperatures in spring and summer, perfect for Chardonnay to slowly and steadily develop sugars while keeping its natural acidity nice and elevated. The vineyard, located on Paso Roble's east side, is hilly and sees strong afternoon winds that aid in the BIG diurnal temperature swings of the summer. The fruit was harvested at a textbook 24.0 degrees BRIX and taken immediately to the winery for pressing. The fruit was hand harvested, and picked as was one cohesive and uniform lot. I was amazed at the consistency of each cluster's berries and at the great sweet taste of the grapes! Sculpterra's 2019 Chardonnay shows plenty of juicy qualities, like ripe apricot, upfront nectarine, perfumed pear, and a pleasing and long finish. A little buttery creaminess, not coming from barrels but from natural ageing, appears to give the wine a broad mouthfeel, and the wine finishes with a enjoyable lingering sensation. Overall, the wine's palate is dominated by classic Chardonnay qualities of apple, pear, some melon and subtle hints of oregano and black pepper. This wine is certainly lovely now, and I am confident it will evolve well with proper ageing. The newly harvested fruit was transported from the vineyard and taken directedly to the winery in less than just 2 hours after harvest. From there, the grapes went straight into the horizontal juice press. The clusters were whole-berry cluster pressed, separating the juice from the skins and stems. Following, the juice cold settled at 45 degrees F for 2 days before racking clean into a new stainless-steel tank and then finally introduced to yeast for alcoholic fermentation to begin. The juice fermented slowly dropping around 1-2 BRIX per day and taking a full month to reach complete dryness. Once dry, the wine was racked clean again and then underwent Malo-Lactic fermentation (secondary wine fermentation) which gives the wine an elegant, soft and almost creamy finish. In total, 392 cases were bottled in mid-March 2020.
2018 Viognier$30.00
Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - 55% Frankel Family Estate, 45% Sukhy Home Ranch, Acid - 0.69 g/100 ml, PH - 3.58, Residual Sugar - 0.72 g/100ml, Alcohol - 16.30%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 03/06/2019, Cases Produced - 1.500. 2018 marks the tenth vintage for our Viognier vineyard and the vines are surely in their best years. The vines match perfectly with the soil and climate of east side Paso Robles. Most notably flavors of melon, cantaloupe and white flowers abound in this wonderful vineyard. We also sourced Viognier fruit for this wine from another notable vineyard, Suky Suran's home ranch. This vineyard topography is extremely steep, with terraced rows and dangerous terrain. The vines are high-density planted in rows that are only four feet wide. This method of planting limits the vine's crop load and ensures balanced uniformity throughout the block. The 2018 growing season saw a cool start of summer followed by an extreme heat at the end and a hotter than average fall season, allowing the Viognier to easily reach peak ripeness. Our 2018 vintage Viognier is a standout wine; well-balanced and very strongly fruit driven. The aromas are substantial, with notes of melon, white flower, and subtle notes of pear. The super ripe fruit is coupled with perfect acidity with hints of minerality playing throughout the pallet. The apricot and peach flavors are full bodied and easy drinking, with developed flavors that are rounded with a warm finish. The grapes were one hundred percent hand-picked in the early hours of the morning and taken straight to the winery for pressing and cold settling of the juice. The fruit was whole berry pressed upon coming to the winery and cold soaked for 48 hours before racking clean to ferment. The wine fermented without the presence of the skins giving the hue a wonderfully classic, clear and golden tinge. Yeast BA-11 was selected for its inherit nature in expressing increased aromas of fruit, while yeast ICV-D254 was chosen for its enhanced structure and elegant finish in the completed wine. The juice from each vineyard fermented in separate tanks over the course of one and a half months before racking together and bottling in early March 2019. Sculpterra's 2018 Viognier is one of the very best Viognier Paso Robles has to offer! It's full-bodied, fruity, and lush, containing pleasant acidity and guaranteed to please all senses. It delivers a lot of appeal to a broad audience. Drink this wine upon release but it is worth noting that is can age for years to come.
2019 Héroe Viognier$25.00
Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Frankel Family Vineyard, Harvest Date - 10/09/2019, Acid - 0.69 g/100 ml, PH - 3.60, Aging - drinkable now, Residual Sugar - 0.75 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 15.40%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 03/18/2020, Cases Produced - 480. 2019 Héroe Viognier is our best vintage of Viognier yet! Strong flavors of white peach, orange zest, and fragrant flowers dominate the palate. The taste is unmatched. Easy-to-drink textures meld wonderfully with fruity aromas and lingering bouquets. 2019 was a tremendous growing season for our vineyards. We received over 20 inches of rain, which greatly added in the cleansing of our soils and replenished the ground water basin in our area. The vines are hand manicured from pruning, leaf-pulling, shoot thinning and even cluster dropping. Only the best fruit makes the cut! Harvest was later than usual in 2019, making more complex and dense flavors in the resulting wine. This 2019 Héroe Viognier is layered with stone fruits, wrapped in puckering acidity and ending with a brilliant and lingering finish. A wine dedicated to the Sculpterra vineyard team and winery workers, this vintage shows particularly strong notes of white peach, ripe cantaloupe, and an underlying taste of guava and tangerine. It also offers a unique taste of crisp honeydew along with floral accents. The palate is also firm with notes of minerality. Aromas show off white melon and key lime as well as pear nectar and honey. I even taste a subtle note of almond heightened by the wine's rich textures. This wine will only get better with proper aeration and a few years of ageing. Best when enjoyed upon release and through 2022. The grapes were harvested in 2 lots, and picked overnight, hand sorted in the vineyard and transported with minimal movement. The fresh hand-picked grapes were brought to the winery in the early hours of the morning for immediate processing, keeping the grapes cold and fresh during the entire process. The fruit was whole berry bladder pressed at a low psi, pressing the fresh flavors of the clear juice. The juice cold settled for 2 days before eventually racking off lees and inculcation of yeast for fermentation to begin. The wine fermented in two portions: Frankel vineyards in one tank and Sukhy Suran vineyards in the other. This way the individuality of the vineyards shines through the wine, only improved when the wines were blended together post fermentation. The wine was blended in December 2019 and bottled in March 2020. Héroe wines have been produced commercially at Sculpterra Winery and Sculpture Garden since 2012. Héroe celebrates the vineyard and winery workers; more specifically, the vineyard workers who are responsible for every operation at Sculpterra! Lugardo "Uga" Zatarian, featured on the front label of this bottle, is that man. Uga worked eight years at Frankel Family Vineyards doing all sorts of jobs in the vineyard. His tireless efforts and dedication to farming excellence, like all the others who work in our vineyard, are the reason our wine taste so wonderful. Uga retired in 2011 and this label honors the memory of his dedication to Sculpterra as he set a high standard!
2019 Paso Pink Rosé$30.00
Varietal Composition - 55% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre, 20% Syrah, Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Frankel Family Estate, Gene Alonso, and San Miguel Vineyards, Acid - 0.71 g/100ml, PH - 3.42, Residual Sugar - 0.98 g/100ml, Alcohol - 14.50%, Wine Style - Rosé, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 02/20/2020, Cases Produced - 775. Our 2019 Paso Pink Rosé wine is our biggest bottling of Rosé to date, totaling 750 cases! The crop was heavy while fruit quality was at an all-time high! We yielded more juice per ton and therefore we made more Rosé wine than previous vintages. This wine is a combination of three unique Rhone varieties, but even more so, a blend of four unique vineyards. Grenache was harvested in two lots from two vineyards; Sculpterra's own "El Libro Block," and Rafael Jimenez San Miguel Vineyard, "Sol Para Todo." Mourvédre came from Sculpterra's Estate in the coveted "Lago De Los Patos" block. Rounding out the finish is Syrah from Eugene Alonso's "Penman Springs" vineyard. 2019 was the best vintage we have witnessed in years; therefore, the juice used in making this Rosé wine was of the best quality we have ever seen! The Grenache, light in color, packs the strawberry flavors and rich acidity. Mourèvdre is the tropical fruit provider in the blend and gives darker pink hues as well as a deeper finish. Syrah, adding darker pink color also lends more cola-berry, floral lavender, and rose petal notes. This beautiful Rosé is very refreshing for a hot summer day, with or without food, but pairs wonderfully with a seasonal salad. Wow, this Rosé touches every sense and leaves you wanting more. 2019 was the best vintage we have witnessed in years; therefore, the juice used in making this Rosé wine was of the best quality we have ever seen! All three varietals - Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah - were hand-harvested at peak ripeness, followed by a 30% bleed after a 24-hour cold-soak of the must. The extracted juice showed brilliance in color and strong acid, a wonderful combination for Rosé wines! "The Bleed" or "Saignée" was fermented in small 5-gallon stainless drums and kept between 55- and 75-degrees Fahrenheit. A slow and steady fermentation retained bright fruity aromas while the unique yeast selections created diverse mouthfeel and bouquets for each of these three varieties. We bottled the wine at a "young stage," just 3 months of total age, capturing the freshest and most vibrant taste imaginable.

2016 Grenache$50.00
Varietal Composition - 92% Grenache, 8% Petite Siran, Appellation - Paso Robles AVA, Vineyard - Frankel Family & San Miguel Vineyards, Acid - 0.71 g/ml, PH - 3.62, Residual Sugar - 0.05 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 14.00%, Wine Style - Rhone, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 05/24/2017, Cases Produced - 604. 2016 was a solid growing season and the wines produced are balanced and approachable. We did not have early season frost, nor extensive summer heat. Overall, this growing season was temperate leading to good harvest with healthy clean clusters. This wine is a blend of two Grenache vineyards; our estate grown Grenache in the "El Libro" block, and Rafael Jimenez vineyard in the hills of west side San Miguel. Both vineyard climates are different therefore creating unique tasting grapes. Sculpterra's Grenache vineyard is planted in a steep terraced hill on the ridgeline and produces fruity/ fragrant wines with ample acidity. Rafael's Grenache vineyard is planted on a east side slope and sees extensive afternoon sunlight resulting in wines with tropical fruits and higher alcohol. Library Wine - Limited Availability. 93 Points + Editor's Choice by Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Sculpterra's 2016 Grenache is complex with sparkling fruit and layered textures throughout the palate. Packed with tastes of raspberry and boysenberry fruit, along with floral notes of purple flowers, vanilla, clove, cream and Christmas spice fragrant on the nose. Aged in used French barrels, mostly 500L size, this wine shows touches of toast and cedar alongside tart, fruit notes with tropical punch qualities. It's medium-bodied and lightly tannic, with crisp acid that lingers to the finish. The fruit is hand-picked and processed at our on-site winery. The berries are destemmed and the fruit ferments as whole berries. We believe in minimal winemaking interaction, which lets the wine be as expressive as it can possibly be. We ferment the wine exclusively in half-ton bins, which is very crucial to control the fermentation temperature. Fermentation for each lot took approximately 12 days, followed by extraction of the free run juice and pressing of the skins. The wine was aged in neutral barrels for a total of 7 months. We blended eight percent Petite Sirah into the wine at bottling, giving the wine enhanced color, and dense texture. 605 cases were bottled. Grenache is a fantastic wine produced by Sculpterra Winery each year. It's a great light to medium bodied red wine with fruity taste combined with a rich finish.

2018 Pinot Noir$36.00
Vintage - 2017, Varietal - 100% Pinot Noir, Varietal Composition - 64% Clone 777, 36% Clone 115, Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Frankel Family Estate Vineyard, Acid - 0.66 g/100 ml, PH - 3.75, Residual Sugar - 0.65 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 14.20%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 12/12/2018, Cases Produced - 575. Sculpterra's estate grown 2018 Pinot Noir is a fascinating wine that will prove to be a fan favorite for years to come. Our Frankel Vineyard has demonstrated once again that Paso Robles can grow outstanding and award-winning Pinot Noir! This vintage stands out for its wonderful balance in fully ripe flavors, rich textures and lingering smooth finish. 2018 was a never perfect year for our valley vineyard Pinot Noir blocks. Both clonal vineyards, 115 & 777, show unique "terroir" notes, highlighted by differences in soil, drainage and slope. Clone 777 is featured on a relatively flat plateau setting, where lush clay soils create good growth and healthy fruit. Clone 115 is planted on the incline heading west, and the vines doing much less water and therefore produce tiny berries with concentrated color and aroma. Our vineyard team was extra careful in 2018 in the handling of the fruit during harvest, and we were immensely pleased with the quality of the grapes. This wine is a blend of two Pinot Noir Clones: clones 115 and 777 come together in perfect balance and harmony. I love the enticing aromas of ripe red cherry and freshly picked strawberries. The nose is elegant and lifted by touches of rose petal and hibiscus flower. My favorite part of this wine is on the palate where a strong offering of pure fruit flavors like boysenberry and red plum match easily alongside touched of sandalwood and nutmeg. The wine finishes with a pinch of ground black pepper. Overall, this wine shows layered complexity and round, all-encompassing mouthfeel. It ends vividly fresh and is certainly a wine to be enjoyed during its youth. The fruit was processed at Sculpterra Winery starting at 4:00 in the morning! Harvesting early in the day ensures the best quality imaginable. The fruit has to arrive at the winery cold, long before the hot sun beats down on the delicate berries. We cold-soaked the crushed must for 3 days before adding yeast for fermentation to begin. The wine fermented very slowly, enhancing the complexity on the palate and the uniqueness in its finish. No new oak was used in the aging of this wine, consequently, the wine showcases the vineyard at its best! You can really taste all aspects of the vineyard and the delightful blend of these two exceptional clones. Clone 115 brings forth rich color, heavy textures and chalky mineralogy. Clone 777 is all about fresh, vibrant, up front fruit, with notes of pomegranate dominating the overall flavor. The perfect union of these clones is unmatched for its style, beauty and strength. This Pinot Noir changes quickly in the glass, so give it a good swirl and note the intoxicating bouquet.
2019 Héroe Pinot Noir$25.00
Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Frankel Family Estate, Harvest Date - 09/18/2019, Acid - 0.64, PH - 3.71, Residual Sugar - 0.75, Alcohol - 13.90%, Volume - 750 ml. Héroe wines pay homage to our Sculpterra and Frankel Estate Vineyard workers. In fact, a portion of the proceeds goes directly to support the Flying Samaritans Medical group, who offer free medical care in the poorest places in Baja California. This Pinot Noir is truly remarkable; it's easy to drink, shows off gorgeous lighter style fruits, contains clean and bright acidity, and is ready to drink upon release. 2019 was the best growing season we have ever experienced! Large off-season rains helped to rejuvenate our soils, and moderate spring and summer weather helped ripen the crop with ease and finesse. Amazingly, 2019 was our biggest crop on record! I personally feel vintage 2019 will be remembered as the best year of the decade, as the quality of fruit was simply perfect. The nose showcases roasted dark cherry, smoked herb, and savory earth tones, which is surprising for a wine aged in neutral oak. The palate has a slight toasted taste followed by a menagerie of ripe fruit flavors. Overall the wine has a lovely savory quality, while flavors of dried cranberry and rose-petal offer crisp taste and a fresh finish. The grapes were immediately processed at Sculpterra Winery following the night time harvest. Harvesting at night ensured that the grapes were cool and fresh, paving the way for the best possible fruit flavors to shine through in the wine! The fruit was processed separately by clone; 115 and 777. We tank fermented both lots and cold soaked the fruit at 45 degrees for 2 days before inculcation of cultured yeast strains, #3001 and BM45. The wine fermented at a temperature range of 55-70 degrees, insuring a long, steady and healthy alcoholic fermentation. The wine aged for 7 months in small 228L Burgundy style barrels. Clone 777 shows great raspberry fruit taste and subtle textures, while Clone 115 showed darker cherry notes with deeper textures and a dry tannic finish. These barrels were tasted and topped every six weeks before blending and bottling in May 2020.
2017 Grenache$36.00
Varietal Composition - 89% Grenache, 11% Petite Sirah, Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Frankel Family Estate Vineyards & San Miguel Vineyards, Acid - 0.72 g/100 ml, PH - 3.66, Residual Sugar - 0.05 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 14.20%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 05/25/2018, Cases Produced - 430. I love this wine! It is particularly vibrant and complex, offering ripe, pungent black-fruit flavors accented by herbs and subdued spice. Overall it's a highly fruit-driven creation, with just a touch of pepper, and clean acidity giving it a fresh finish. Fine-grained approachable tannins mark the finish. The main feature is the outpouring of strawberry aromas with blackberry jam too. Violets, vanilla, and caramel show on the nose, and the palate brings further unity to those components. Drink upon release, but never fear it will age very nicely. Drink before 2025 for best flavors.
2017 Syrah$38.00
Appellation - Central Coast, Vineyard - 63% Gene's Village Vineyard, 37% Rio Chicho Vineyard, Acid - 0.74 g/100 ml, PH - 3.78, Residual Sugar - 0.15 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 15.00%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 05/23/2018, Cases Produced - 355. We handpicked the fruit and delivered the grapes to Sculpterra Winery for early morning de-stemming. The juice fermented over a ten-day period, followed by pressing and barrel aging. We aged the wine in 100% new 500L oak barrels. The two harvest lots could not be more different. The Syrah from Rio Chicho has brilliant red brick color combined with cranberry and raspberry fruit. Gene's Syrah has a wonderful dark purple color with accentuated flavors of raisin and chocolate. The final blend is a combination of both vineyard lots. 63% Syrah Gene's Vineyard and 37% Syrah from Rio Chicho. Strawberries, blackberried and black pepper balance marvelously in this full-bodied, firm-textured and quite intense wine. The spiciness of pepper and dried herbs is fun to taste and merges well with the vivid bright fruit flavors. It's almost over-the-top with dangerous ripe flavors yet perfumed with floral elements of violets and rose. The palate is thick yet nuanced, energetic with rich black cherry and plum accented by pepper, earth, smoke and a hint of bacon. It drinks gorgeously already but should improve through 2025 and even further. This 2017 Syrah is dynamite! It's full of the ripest fruit conceivable yet steady with coupling acid and firm tannins on the finish. It combines two unique vineyards: Gene Alonso on Penman Springs Road, and a Monterrey AVA vineyard entitles, "Rio Chicho." Both vineyards offer dramatically different climates. Gene's vineyard is a scorching hot vineyard creating fruit with high sugar and elevated dark fruit flavors. Rio Chicho is a cool climate location and lends itself to berries with high levels of acid and tart-berry taste. 2017 was a ideal growing season with summer heat showing up at just the right time. Also 2017 saw the most rainfall in 10 years, making for a very bountiful harvest with balanced yields and uniform ripening.
2018 Héroe Primitivo$25.00
Varietal Composition - 86% Primitivo, 14% Cabernet Franc, Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Frankel Family Estate, Acid - 0.72 g/100 ml, PH - 3.60, Residual Sugar - 0.03 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 15.00%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 08/14/2019, Cases Produced - 375. All the fruit was grown at Frankel Family Estate Vineyards on well established 15 year old vines. 2018 saw consistent agreeable weather. Favorable off-season rains, coupled with a mild spring and hot summer gave way to a long and extended fall harvest. The vines were hand manicured with careful pruning of canes, precise shoot thinning, methodical leaf pulling, and selective cluster thinning, which helped achieve a perfect average yield of 3 tons per acre. The vineyard soils contain lots of limestone outcroppings with a mostly salty loam profile. Harvest began on September 25 and was completed by November 1, 2018. Héroe's Frankel Family Estate grown 2018 Primitivo is certainly one of our most popular wines with its easy drinking and ability to pair well with most foods. It is richly layered in flavors and textures, offering a variety of red summer berries balanced with green vegetables and herbs. The notes of jammy plum and milk chocolate blend effortlessly in the midpalate but finish smoothly making this a very appealing and versatile wine. 2018 was a surprisingly drawn-out year for the vineyard and the winery, making processing the fruit fairly stress-free. This wine is a blend of three unique Primitivo picks, all coming in from the 8 acre Ridgeline plot. Each lot represents a different day of hand picking in our vineyard. The first lot come in slightly underripe, creating tart cherry flavors and vibrant red color. The second lot was just the opposite with super ripe flavors, black color, and a long, rich mouthfeel. Finally, the third lot brought flavors of raisin, cherry-pie and dried herbs. We processed all three lots one half ton at a time, first by de-stemming the berries, then by whole berry fermenting a portion in new 500L barrels, and finally by basket pressing and barrel aging. The finally barrel contains a small amount of Cabernet Franc, adding flavors absent to Primitivo and greatly aiding in the wine's texture, character and finish.
2018 Primitivo$40.00
Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Frankel Family Estate, Acid - 0.70 g/100 ml, PH - 3.55, Residual Sugar - 0.03 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 15.40%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 08/21/2019, Cases Produced - 660. 2018 was an all-star growing season for Sculpterra Winery and Frankel Family Estate Vineyards and our best wines of that vintage were certainly the many tasty lots of Primitivo. Primitivo always comes in super ripe with a few raisins in each cluster. The resulting wine is concentrated in raspberry, cherry, and sweet plum-like flavors. There's plenty of structure throughout the lengthy palate, and the addition of Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah give this bottling a unique profile unseen by any other Sculpterra wine. 2018 was a good rainfall year and proved to greatly aid the vine's ability to produce a healthy canopy for the long growing season. Summer was stretched and steady, and we harvested a full 2 weeks later than average years. The resulting wine was entirely worth the wait, with a terrific balance of sweet fruit and mild acidity. Elaborate smoke and cinnamon spice bouquets give this full-bodied wine a dramatic start. Next the aromas of black cherry and blackberry join in on the nose. It has moderate tannins for good command, but is not an overly tannic wine. Mostly the tannins come from Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah giving the mouthfeel a certain expressive lift and poise. Flavors of blackberry and cherry are concentrated and focused while its acidity brings everything together in this big but balanced wine. Candied cherries and black plums give it a delicious classic profile, while hints of black pepper linger on the finish. The oaky play on this wine gives a perfect sense of vivid flavors and taste. This is no doubt a complex wine and it will continue to improve with cellar aging. As with each year, we experiment in fermentation styles with Primitivo fruit. We whole-cluster berry fermented the fruit in 10 brand new 500L barrels. What a result! The young barrel-fermented wine shows so much promise; big juicy flavors, dressed with meaty barbecue accents and ending with plenty of weight on the palate. This bottling is a blend of three Primitivo lots, all sourced from the same 8-acre Ridgeline vineyard but harvested at different times of the busy picking season. Cabernet Franc was added for its healthy dose of black olive, green pepper and strong tannins. Petite Sirah helps by adding depth of color, tight wood tannins and floral notes of lavender and rose. In total, the wine aged in 26% new American Oak for 10 months and we bottled 660 cases in August 2019.
2016 Merlot$38.00
Appellation - Paso Robles, Acid - 0.68 g/100 ml, PH - 3.70, Residual Sugar - 0.04 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 13.20%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 08/15/2018, Cases Produced - 225. Sculpterra has officially brought back Merlot! We are proud to offer our wonderful 2016 estate grown 100% Merlot varietal wine. The taste is rich and firm, packed with dark fruit elements and plenty of acidity, giving the taster a pleasantly puckering experience. The 8-acre vineyard in which this high-quality fruit comes from is situated atop the Frankel Family Estate. Vines are oriented north-south, soils comprised of clay-loam mixed with limestone and stony outcroppings. We planted the vineyard in 1995 and train the vines on a trellis; vertically positioning the spurs, shoots, and canes. 2016 was a terrific crop and the cluster ripened with amazing uniformity. The berries were impeccably clean at harvest and at complete ripeness, 26.5 BRIX. We harvested October 3rd, 2016 staring at 4:00am! This ensured the fruit came to the winery cold, fresh, and plump, ready for the winemaker to begin. Our 100% estate grown Merlot is soft, supple and dusty, displaying subtle hints of plum, cedar and vanilla. It expresses a nice complexity on the mid-palate too with textured full-bodied ripeness. The tannins are immediate yet polished, let it age for best tasting, drink now through 2025. Overall, I'd call it a crowd-pleasing wine, intense and structured, has allusions of floral components, while still being rich and round ending with freshness on the finish. Fermentation occurred for a little over 2 weeks followed by pressing, settling, racking, and was then finally placed into barrels. The wine aged in once and twice used barrels, yielding to the wine subtle bouquets of toasted wood, caramel, vanilla, chocolate and even campfire qualities. In total the wine aged for 16 months allowing for the tannins to mature and the wine's mouthfeel to soften. The barrels were routinely topped and tasted as we evaluated the wine in terms of flavor, taste, texture and color. This wine really came around after 12 months of oak aging. We bottled in the summer for 2018 and the wine is set to release for Christmas that same year. In total just 8 barrels were bottled equaling just 225 cases.
2017 Cabernet Sauvignon$40.00
Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - 100% Frankel Family Estate, Acid - 0.67 g/100 ml, PH - 3.67, Residual Sugar - 0.02 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 14.50%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 06/15/2019, Cases Produced - 720. 2017 will be remembered as an outstanding year for Frankel Vineyard's Cabernet Sauvignon. The perfect growing season led to a long and balanced harvest, producing Cabernets of exquisite taste, texture and flavor. This vintage combines four Cab blocks from the 265-acre ranch at Frankel Vineyards. Combining fruit from the hilltop and valley floor created complex flavors, silky tannins and a rich, savory finish. The vines were hand pruned, shoot thinned, suckered and limited to only 3-4 tons per acre. The resulting berries were tiny and thick-skinned, releasing dark color to the wine with intense opulent flavors. The vines are root-deficit irrigated, meaning that watering only occurs in the peak of spring and summer. The vineyard soils are a varied mix of limestone, small stone, and rocky areas, with mostly a clay-loam profile. Harvest began in the middle of October and was completed by the first of November. With its dense texture and intense ripe flavors, this 100% Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is an impressively powerful wine that delights from start to finish. Wholly ripe flavors of dark blueberry are concentrated with layers of tannins that are well integrated now but will improve with cellaring time. Characteristics of tart cherry, red currant and ground black pepper combine to create a nuanced palate in this wonderful wine. Chocolaty oak shows first on the palate, with blackberry and spiced plum accenting the finish. Characteristics of tart cherry, red currant and ground black pepper combine to create a nuanced palate in this wonderful wine. Chocolaty oak shows first on the palate, with blackberry and spiced plum accenting the finish. You can enjoy this wine upon release but don't be misled, this wine will age for 10 or more years to come! The harvested Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were picked at night and delivered to the winery at sunrise. Harvesting at night ensures that the fruit is cold, fresh, and the best quality for high end winemaking. The grapes were processed with extreme care and minimal intervention. Each of the four lots were destemmed and fermented on the skins for 2-3 weeks, depending on initial sugar levels and yeast selected. We pressed the skins using our micro basket press, just half a ton at a time. We aged the wine in a combination of new and used barrels. World Cooperage's 'SOLEI' barrels were used for their aggressive oak impact, imparting molasses, vanilla and caramel tastes into the wine. The wine aged for 18 months in barrel before being bottled in May 2019.
2017 Bentley Ironworks Cabernet Sauvignon$74.00
Varietal Composition - 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petite Sirah, Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Frankel Family Estate, Acid - 0.67 g/100 ml, PH - 3.68, Residual Sugar - 0.05 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 14.70%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 05/15/2019, Cases Produced - 310. Bentley Ironworks Cabernet Sauvignon is a small production lot of our highest quality Cabernet on the property. The label depicts the massive entrance gates crafted by master blacksmith, Robert Bentley. The vineyard is located adjacent to Bentley's Custom Ironworks Shop and is only 3.5 acres in size. The vineyard is breathtaking; a natural creek wraps the exterior of the block while the east-west oriented rows soak up equal amounts of sunlight. The soil is comprised of many profiles, including small stone, gravel, clay-loam sections and even sandy surfaces. The vines are' Old-World' cane pruned and trained to a trellis. The berries produced are tiny and packed with juicy flavor, intense tannins, and rich color. Bentley Ironworks Cabernet Sauvignon is our most superb Cabernet that we make at Sculpterra Winery. This big, bold wine tastes of blackberry pie, with a subtle dusting of clove and black pepper, giving it a lush and plush feel. Its thick and dense structure offer elongated tannins and a memorable, spicy finish without overpowering the lush fruitiness abundant in this wine. Loads of cherry, blackberry and blueberry flavors create a luxurious and well-balanced experience. The velvety smooth texture and well-integrated tannins highlight that underlying intense fruit quality and end with lingering notes of dark chocolate. The fruit was harvested overnight in 2 picks and delivered to Sculpterra's onsite winery. The first lot came in at 26.0 Brix (a measurement of sugar content in the berries) and featured good color, strong acidity, and nice herbal flavors. The second pick came in at 27.5 Brix and showed, great dark color, abundant fruity flavors, and smoky notes as well. We fermented a portion of the fruit in new 500L French Oak Puncheon barrels. This open-top barrel fermentation technique imparted dense structure to the wine's aroma and mouthfeel. The wine fermented for a total of 25 days before becoming completely dry. Pressing took place over two days, followed by settling, and eventual racking down into barrels for long-term aging. We aged the wine in 69% new barrels, 35% French and 34% American barrels, for a total of 18 months before bottling it in May of 2019. 2017 was a magnificent year for Sculpterra's Cabernet Sauvignon wines! The climate was favorable during the growing season and the resulting wines show amazing balance of rich character and heightened fruity flavors. This is a wine to decant when drinking, also be sure to cellar a few bottles, with proper storage and care it will taste its best in 2030.

This 1.5-acre vineyard produces superb uniform clusters; it's truly remarkable to see just how alike and perfect each cluster looks. We performed all the necessary vineyard canopy management, with shoot thinning and leaf pulling. We also used guide wires to lift up the morning side of the canopy allowing for optimum light and air flow to the ripening fruit. It shows a complex medley of fresh ground herb, pleasant green pepper, and a moist earthiness ending with mineral and cherry aromas. There's alluring textures and purity to its graceful fruit and savory flavors that carry all the way into the wine's finish. It's a delicious wine that will definitely improve with time in the cellar. The tannins are well polished, carrying cocoa, dried herb and black-cherry flavors mixed with roasted and toasted oaky bouquets. Hold onto to this one for at least 7 years for best drinking results. All fruit was processed immediately following the harvest. The grapes were destemmed directly into small half-ton macro bins enabling time for cold soak followed by yeast inoculation. We selected yeast T-73 to ferment the wine for its ability to capture dark color, enhance the wines mouthfeel, and boost the inherit fruit taste present in the grape. The wine was aged in a combination of 500L and 300L barrels. These larger format barrels are ideal for their longer aging potential while adding subtle oak characteristics to the wine. One barrel of Merlot helpedto smooth out the wine, bringing subtle plum fruit, softer tannins and a slight acidic life in the wine's texture.
2017 Héroe Cabernet Sauvignon$25.00
Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - 100% Frankel Family Estate, Acid - 0.65 g/100ml, PH - 3.74, Residual Sugar - 0.65 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 14.50%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 08/22/2018, Cases Produced - 1500. The fruit is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and sourced from the 10 acre vineyard block 'Puerta Electrica'. 2017 was one of our best growing seasons ever! The gradual transition of spring to summer with hot days in the fall made for a uniform and balanced crop. 2017 Héroe Cabernet Sauvignon is a picture-perfect wine to be enjoyed on its own or paired with a variety of cuisines. This vintage displays a heightened sense of fruit; featuring raspberry, chocolate covered strawberry, and even pomegranate aromas! The mouthfeel is very generous offering complex tannins, slight tart flavors, and a lengthy finish. The winery processed the fruit immediately upon arrival. The grapes came in at perfect ripeness right at 26.5 BRIX. The fruit was picked and brought to the winery in one lot. The first process was to separate the grapes from the stems, followed by fermentation in a stainless steel up-right fermenter tank. We selected yeast ICV-D254 for its innate capacity to enhance the wine's mouthfeel, increase the presence of dark fruit, and finally, its ability to stabilize the natural grape tannin inherit in the berries. The wine aged for a total for 10 months in a mixture of 225L and 240L oak barrels. Topping was conducted each month keeping the wine at the healthiest state possible. Bottling took place in late August 2018 and the wine has been bottled aged for a full year before officially being released to the public. Héroe pays tribute to the Brand's winemaking and grape growing team of laborers. The workers run the show, working tireless and doing whatever needs to be done. Héroe is now in its 7th vintage and truthfully, the wine keeps getting better and better each year.
J. Jagger Primitivo Port$36.00
Vintage - NV, Varietal - Primitivo, Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Frankel Family Estate, Acid - 0.67 g/100 ml, PH - 3.65, Residual Sugar - 9.28 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 20.04%, Wine Style - Port, Volume - 500 ml. This Port style wine was made with Primitivo wine grapes from the eight-acre ridgeline block at Sculpterra. The grapes were left on the vine post-harvest to increase the amount of sweetness in the berries. The fruit was hand sorted in the vineyard and in the winery to increase the overall quality of these extremely over ripe grapes. The vineyard is the steepest block on the Sculpterra estate, lending itself to windy conditions and rocky terrain. The vines are complemented by long hours of increased sunlight in the late afternoon. These Primitivo vines were initially grafted onto Cabernet Sauvignon rootstock in 2006. The grapes matured with ease and gaining increased ripeness in the berries was achieved with ease. The vines were hand pruned, limited to two buds per spur, and irrigation was implemented on a limited basis in order to increase levels of stress towards the end of the growing season. Only one and a half tons of Primitivo fruit were saved for the creation of a Port style wine. This fruit driven Primitivo Port displays aromas of ripe fig and caramel with chocolate undertones. A non-vintage blend, contacting 5 years of Primitivo Port. This Port Style wine has everything you look for in dessert wine. It's packed with aromas of ripe fig, rich chocolate, raspberry truffle, and toasted jam. This wine's bouquet displays caramel apple and nuts, with a tender sweet and balanced finish. The wine can be enjoyed now, but will further evolve over the next 8 to 15 years. Sold in a 500ml bottle. These Primitivo grapes matured with ease, gaining increased ripeness in the berries. A total of one and a half tons of Primitivo grapes were delivered to the winery. The grapes were de-stemmed and crushed that very same day. The crushed grapes must cold soak for five days before the native yeast began to ferment the grapes. The initial sugar reading (Brix) was 30 and the goal was to press of the wine at 18 Brix. It took three days from the beginning of fermentation to reach 18 Brix. The wine was then pressed off into a stainless tank to be settled over time. Wine Spirits High Proof Alcohol was added to the juice. At that point, the yeast died and the sugar in the wine was diluted to 9.28 RS. Our Port wine was racked off into neutral American Oak barrels, which increases the overall fruit forwardness. These barrels are blended with the previous vintages creating our non-vintage.

2016 Winemaker Signature
This Syrah is complex displaying notes of black currant and dark cherry with flavors of grilled meat sprinkled with black pepper spice a characteristic of classic Paso Syrah.
2017 Winemaker Signature
Varietal Composition - 50% Cabernet Franc 33% Syrah 17% Petite Sirah, Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Frankel Family Estate, Designation - Winemaker's Signature, Acid - 0.66, PH - 3.75, Residual Sugar - 0.05, Alcohol - 15.80%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 06/18/2018, Cases Produced - Only 88 Bottles. 2016's Winemaker Signature was truly amazing and thus I decided to keep the blend with the same varieties; Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah. The biggest difference being the two years is that this new 2017 bottling is primarily Cabernet Franc, followed by Syrah and Petite Sirah. 2017 Cabernet Franc was truly the standout from all my wines produced during the harvest. It's the ripest Cabernet Franc I have ever produced! It demonstrates immense levels of tannins, adding to the structure and durability of the wine. I added Syrah because it too displayed amazing ripe flavors of plum and strawberry with the darkest color imaginable. Petite Sirah rounds out the finish and was taken from a new American Oak barrel, adding huge notes of sweet caramel candies, smoked wood and a lingering taste of chocolate cherries. Overall I feel this that the wine's pallet is dominated by ripe dark fruit aromas and accented by woody bouquets. The structure is amazing with puckering acidity making it a candidate for long-term aging. It's leans dark and tannic, ending with a plethora of fruity taste. It's heavy bodied and this wine is intended to age for 15 or more years!
2018 Winemaker Signature$200.00
Varietal Composition - 42% Cabernet Franc 33% Syrah 25% Petite Sirah, Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Frankel Family Estate, Designation - Winemaker's Signature, Acid - 0.65 g/100 ml, PH - 3.70, Residual Sugar - 0.02 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 14.70%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 06/01/2019, Cases Produced Only - 139 Bottles. This wine was created to be the heaviest, boldest, and richest bend imaginable! I selected the" best of the best" barrel lots from 2018's incredible vintage. Cabernet Franc leads the charge with its dark-berry fruits, dusty tannins, and dense structure. Syrah adds the Hungarian oak taste of pencil wood, smoke and cedar. Followed by aromas of chocolate covered plums and lavender. Petite Sirah aged in 100% New American Oak, enhances the wine's flavors with unbelievable notes of pink peppercorn, barbecued meats, and a coffee-like finish. The bouquets are extensive and juicy, its elegant structure expresses cherry, blackberry, ground pepper and even a mineral note framed in firm fine-grained tannins. A plethora of toasted hazelnut, vanilla and roasted almonds mark the finish. The three varieties blend perfectly together and make for a delicious package. 2018 was our third bottling and we only bottled 139 bottles. We are limiting purchases to 2 bottles per customer. This bottle was the most challenging bottle I have ever worked with due to its unique shape and design. The etching shows off John Jagger's Original sculpture entitled "Eternal Flame." Don Landy, a local wine bottle etcher spent 45 minutes per bottle to mask, etch, and paint each bottle. Then we hand filled each bottle, corked them, waxed them, and added a label to the one flat side of the bottle. My last touch was to sign and hand number each one. Theses bottles are only available at the tasting room. We've done it for a third time! We etched, labeled and bottled the most challenging wine bottle in the world! It took 5 years of hard work and experimentation, but we finally made it happen. This unique self-decanting bottle is made in Italy and was the winner of Bruni Glass's annual bottle competition. The bottle style is known as 'Due Fondos,' but I call it 'The Winemaker Signature' and I plan on hand bottling a limited amount each year. This is a big, bold wine that shows finesse and class. This is the most age-able wine that Sculpterra offers. It can age a minimum of 15 years before peaking out in structure and aroma. It is best to buy 2 bottles - open one in 2025 and the other in 2035. Be sure to decant this wine for the best possible wine experience!
- Special Deal 2 for$350.00
2016 Mega Focus$44.00
Varietal Composition - 59% Grenache, 26% Mourvèdre, & 15% Syrah, Appellation - Central Coast, Vineyard - San Miguel, Indian Valley, Eugene Alfonso & Frankel Vineyard, Acid - 0.68 g/100 ml, PH - 3.62, Residual Sugar - 0.03 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 14.00%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 12/13/2017, Cases Produced - 840. Sculpterra' s" GMS, "Mega Focus, is a wonderfully crafted blend with a plethora of fruit driven aromas and a delightful collection of peppery bouquets. The wine is a blend of 3 varieties, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvédre. Four vineyards were harvested in the conception of this balanced and stimulating wine. Grenache was grown in 2 vineyards; The Frankel's own "El Libro" block and Rafael's San Miguel Vineyard called, "Sol Para Todos. "The Syrah was also harvested in 2 vineyards; Gene's Village located on Penman Springs Road and Rio Chicho out in Indian Valley Vineyards. Finally, the Mourvédre was grown on-site at the Frankel Family Estate Ranch and is a true standout on the property. The hot summer of 2016 was great for our Rhone varietals, ripening the fruit early, and with ease. The crop loads were balanced and the grapes natural acidity was made evident in the resulting wine. Aged in mostly 500L Puncheon, it displays mesmerizingly pure aromas of raspberry, dried herbs and calls for a pot roast pairing. This complex "GMS" Rhone blend offers subdued aromas of rosemary, cherry, cigar box and peppery spices. The palate shows exquisite freshness and cleanliness, flavors are refined and elegant, evenly textured and detailed, demonstrating a deliberate sense of balance and a lengthy finish. Let it breathe for a good 2 hours before partaking in this masterful creation! It will age for 5 plus years, improving in texture and tannin development. All fruit was destemmed, fermented, pressed and barrel aged at Sculpterra Winery, aging for a total of 14 months before bottling. This wine is a combination of 4 unique lots with 2 lots of Grenache, 2 lots of Syrah and 1 lot of Mourvédre. Starting with Grenache, Rafael's bring the strawberry and layers of pomegranate notes, while El Libro Grenache brings some root beer notes with candied cherry, but pale in color. The Syrah lots are drastically different from each other! Rio Chicho Syrah is light to medium bodied with classic plum and violet. However, the Gene's Village Syrah is a totally different animal! It's super dark, tannic to the core with mouth drying tart berry aromas. Mourvédre is tropical, lush and evenly structured making it the perfect partner in the finishing of this wine.
2016 Figurine$44.00
Varietal Composition - 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Primitivo, 18% Merlot, Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Frankel Family Estate, Acid - 0.67 g/100 ml, PH - 3.80, Residual Sugar - 0.10 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 14.50%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 02/21/2018, Cases Produced - 695. The 2016 growing season was superb in many aspects. The climate was very favorable with off-season rains, a cold winter, moderate spring, and the usual blazing hot summer that Paso Robles is well known for. We had no frost damage in the vineyard and we were able to hang the perfect amount of fruit from each vine. All three vineyards are found on the Frankel Family Estate. The Cabernet is sourced from two blocks, Chivos and Hillside which are both cane-pruned, leaf pulled and shoot thinned, creating a perfect environment for the fruit to mature. Primitivo, located on the cliffs of the 8-acre ridgeline block, is limited to two clusters per shoot and we do extensive canopy work to allow light air flow. The Merlot is also found on the hilltop with its unique sandy-loam and gravel soils which helps produce fruit with balanced acidity and ripeness. Figurine is the best of both worlds; fruity with pleasant attraction, then rich with bold dark fruit flavors and an oaky finish. The estate blend hits hard in spicy raspberry, cherry and even cinnamon, adding in a touch of mint. Robust oak and a ripe body give it power and weight. Fresh and broad aromas of strawberry and red currant meet crushed oregano. I'd say it's medium to full bodied on the palate, with the best bright red plums, crushed pepper and a good helping of herb flavors. It's ready to drink upon release but will age for years to come. Our production team made the wines, from grape to bottle, at our on-site winery located in the middle of the amazing vineyard. From fermentation to pressing we did minimal actions in order to preserve the best aromas possible. Cabernet Sauvignon, Primitivo, and Merlot were all aged in independent lots, in their respective oak barrels for fourteen months. I loved how the Primitivo tasted right from the press! It bursts forward with cherry fruit. The Cabernet started off tight and tannic, but after nine months in barrel it developed finesse and it's character started to show. Figurine, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Primitivo, and Merlot is by far our most unique and appealing blend we produce each year. The combination of red-fruits, palatable tannins and a lingering finish makes this wine a truly memorable experience.
2018 Repoussé$46.00
Varietal - Rhone blend, Varietal Composition - 43% Mourvedre 28% Grenache 17% Syrah 12% Petite Sirah, Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Frankel Family Estate & Gene Alonso Vineyard, Acid - 0.70 g/100 ml, PH - 3.58, Residual Sugar - 0.04 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 14.20%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 12/11/2019, Cases Produced - 375. The fruit is from both the Frankel Family Estate & the Gene Alonso Vineyard. These vineyards are located less than 2 miles apart, giving the wine a consistency in taste and finish. 2018 was an outstanding growing season with all climate activity being what we needed at the right time. We did get a late season spring freeze but we did not see much damage on these Rhone varieties. Our vineyard team continued on tradition of shoot thinning, leaf pulling around all clusters, and fruit dropping when necessary. Harvest began with our estate grown Syrah on September 25th 2019 and was wrapped up with Petite Sirah being harvested in October 23rd . (43% Mourvedre, 28% Grenache, 17% Syrah, 12% Petite Sirah) The wine is coated with gorgeous red fruit tones and sprinkled with floral accents. There's a lot of herbal enhancement too, with rosemary and thyme blending nicely with fruit flavors of red cherry and strawberry. The palate snaps with generous acidy, which makes it easy to pair with many foods. The wine is lifted by the small addition of Petite Sirah, greatly aiding in the wine's perfect garnet red color and slightly tannic and dry finish. Overall, it's a beautiful creation showcasing a remarkable feel of balance and tantalizing textures. Sculpterra's Repoussé Red Rhone blend is an incredible feat of magnificently layered fruit and subtle baking spice notes with a wonderful crisp and puckering finish. All fruit was hand-picked and made at Sculpterra's on-site winery located in the valley of the 265-acre estate ranch. Whole berry fermentation was implemented across all four varieties, followed by a soft pressing and settling of the young wine, which eventually was racked into barrels for aging to begin. Mourvèdre's unique character shines as the dominant player and is pleasantly enhanced with smaller additions of Grenache, Syrah and Petite Sirah. The blend was created just one week prior to bottling, therefore all four varieties were aged in independent barrels which allowed their unique characteristics to espress themselves. The Mourvedre, aged in once used 240L American Oak, adds subtle notes of caramel, tobacco, and earthy spice. Our Grenache was made and aged in large format barrels, 500L in size, creating fruit driven flavors with little oak influence. The Syrah, aged in neutral barrels has HUGE notes of chocolate plum and even grapefruit! Finally, our Petite Sirah was aged in a new American Oak 475L barrels which adds roasted coffee, grilled meat, and smoked cedar qualities to the wine. In total, just 365 cases were bottled and this wine is sold only through Sculpterra. Repoussé ia a metal working term refers to the shaping or molding of metal art work by hammering from the underside. Essentially, Repoussé is the opposite of embossing, which hammers down, and it a classic method of art and iron work that dates back centuries. This stunning label is a silkscreen of a large sculputre, titled" Grand Tarpon" by John Jagger, located in Sculpterra's beautiful sculpture garden.

The fruit grown on the Frankel Family Estate is meticulously hand manicured; from pruning, shoot thinning, removing excess clusters and hand picking. Our terroir is most notably extreme, with great swings in temperature along with a plethora of soil compositions and structure. We harvested the grapes in five unique lots, enhancing the wine's pronounced complexity. (60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc, 19% Merlot, & 2% Petit Verdot) Exceptionally tasty fruit flavors and a broad welcoming mouthfeel make this full-bodied estate-grown wine hard to resist. It has classic Bordeaux essences, like blackberry and black cherry and a whole lot of tannin with spicy tones that come out with proper aeration. The juicy palate delivers licorice, bing-cherry and a touch of tangerine zest. The four varieties come together effortlessly and are well integrated, with fresh focused acidity. Black currant, cherry and dark chocolate play along across the palate, dusted in cocoa powder and smoked oak. Enjoyable to taste right now but with out a doubt a cellar worthy wine. Hide away and bring back for peak taste in 2025. Exceptionally tasty fruit flavors and a broad welcoming mouthfeel make this full-bodied estate-grown wine hard to resist. The fruit came in in four lots, starting on September 20th and ending October 26th. We aged the wine in a assortment of oak barrels, for a total of 18 months. We used some new French Oak giving forth additional tannins to the wine with roasted and nutty bouquets. 2016 Maquette shows off our first production of Petit Verdot from a tiny 300 vine planting located in the vineyard block known as "Kathy's Forest." Just 2% of Petit Verdot adds just a smidge of dark fruit nuances complemented with a trace of dry tannins.
2017 Statuesque$48.00
Varietal Composition - 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Petite Sirah & 29% Syrah, Appellation - Paso Robles, Vineyard - Frankel Family Estate & Eugene Alonso Vineyard, Acid - 0.69 g/100 ml, PH - 3.70, Residual Sugar - 0.05 g/100 ml, Alcohol - 15.60%, Volume - 750 ml, Bottling Date - 02/20/2019, Cases Produced - 685. Sculpterra's 2017 Statuesque showcases three unique varieties that taste tremendously well when blended together, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and Syrah. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah are grown on the Frankel Family Estate Vineyard, located just east of downtown Paso Robles and part of the newly formed" Geneseo" Sub-AVA. The Cabernet is grown on the hilltop block where extremes in temperatures make for fruit forward wines with fantastic color and tannin. The Petite Sirah is grown in the property's valley vineyard where cooler temperatures produces floral and gentle aromas that showcase themselves wonderfully in the wine. Finally, the Syrah is grown on the neighboring Eugene Alonso Vineyard. This vineyard yields less than a half a ton per acre. Thus, the resulting wine is super concentrated, dark in color and rich with lush tasting dark berry and plum flavors. 2017 was a terrific growing year for high quality Paso Robles wine as we were blessed with great weather all year. (39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Petite Sirah & 29% Syrah) This wine expresses lots of oaky taste, yet remains focused on its red-fruit backbone and ends with restrained tannins that finish soft in the mouth. Black plum, dark chocolate, spice cake and even mineral aromas show on the nose of this blend. It's rich and thick on the palate, with strong black-currant and licorice flavors that are prominently expressed with power and grace. I get a smattering of candied boysenberry, white pepper and hints of thyme-crusted pot roast aromas. Very complex wood notes are woven throughout the wine's long finish. Overall this wine is very expressive and floral, with flavors of violet, rose petal and black-plum skins. The fruit for this unique blend was whole clustered destemmed at our small on-site winery. Each variety fermented separately from one another and we fermented a portion of the wine in new 500L puncheon barrels. Specific yeast strains were selected to ferment each variety, giving the lots unique taste and mouthfeel. The wine fermented to dryness in 2 weeks, followed by pressing, settling, and barreling down for long-term aging. We aged the wine is many new barrels including French, Hungarian and American Oak. The woody flavors are very much in the foreground of the wine and express a lot of smoke, BBQ aromas, and roasted qualities. In total the wine aged in 56% new oak barrels and was bottled after a total of fourteen months. We bottled 685 cases. Sculpterra's 2017 Statuesque showcases three unique varieties that taste tremendously well when blended together; Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and Syrah. What an amazing wine from start to finish, I am sincerely proud and delighted with how well this wine is showing right now! Drink it upon release but also don't be shy to cellar this one for a good ten years or more because it's built to age.
Héroe

Great place, outstanding wine and open-air museum of sculptures was fantastic. The wine was good, as was the band and food. We spent 3.5 hours at the winery enjoying a bottle of their pinot noir while listening to the band. Highly recommended for an afternoon of great wine, good music, and fantastic art.

We went knowing nothing about their wines or winery. Pleasantly surprised it was great wine and a unique and beautiful setting. It was busy and it took time to get the attention of the hostess. I had reserved bar setting; however, they put us outside with a large group. It was a beautiful day but it was a standing tasting. The guy pouring the wine was knowledgeable and the price was same or below the cost of other Paso Robles wineries. We were there on a a Friday afternoon. If we can swing another visit, we will try for Saturday or Sunday when they have live music and we can relax with a glass of wine.

I brought my son and his girlfriend for their first wine tasting experience, and they had a wonderful time! Iddy was an amazing host and shared the amazing history of Sculpterra with us. We brought our lunch, which we enjoyed at one of the tables in the impeccable gardens! What a beautiful and peaceful place to spend an afternoon! Oh, and the wine - I ordered another case to be shipped to me in Florida - can’t wait for it to arrive! My son and his girlfriend both liked the Vingonier, so i bought a bottle for them, and she bought two bottles to send to her mom! We had a wonderful time!

The hostess was very rude. She told us that we weee late for our 3:00 reservation but the recess at 3:30 and we were, in fact, 10 minutes early. She argued with me that she has it right there on her iPad for 3:00 and when I tried to show her the 3:30 reservation on my phone and email she wouldn’t even look at it. Other than that Bruce was extremely nice for our wine tasting.

Love going to Sculpterra Winery for their wine and especially listening to Joy Bonner and Adam Levine. Patio Kitchen is always good too.

We had an amazing time. Our tasting host, sadly I didn't get his name, was fantastic and answered all of our questions about wine, he was very knowledgeable. The wine was great! So much so we decided to extend our stay there to enjoy a chilled bottle outside and enjoy the great band and fabulous grounds. We could've stayed even longer but had another winery appointment to make. Next time, and there definitely will be a next time, we will plan to stay even longer. This was our favorite of 3 places we visited that day.

They didn’t let us walk around during the tasting, and if we wanted to sit at a table to listen to live music, that would have been a separate experience of ordering wine and food apart from the tasting. We bought a bottle from the tasting, but it just wasn’t what we expected.

Our server was very knowledgeable and fun to interact with and the wine was very good. The pre-packaged food was good but not great. The property is amazing with many sculptures displayed inside and out. We will be back.

Beautiful grounds and wonderful sculpture garden to explore. There’s also an amazing gift store to peruse. Our server was very friendly and professional and inspired me to join the wine club. The wine is good and reasonably priced.
