The whole package is compelling, hence Screaming Eagle was voted best restaurant in the Caribbean by ‘Caribbean Journal’ in 2015! Repeating to make a mark on the Top 50 list for 2016, Chef Erwin Hüsken excelled to ‘Caribbean Chef of the Year Award’ for 2017. And striving.
Welcome to deliciousness!
The pretentiousness at this place can be cut with a knife. This place puts on the airs of being the best but does not deliver. Food was overpriced and mediocre, at best. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant, there are a number of other places that serve better food.
Dear Brittany Cavanagh, we regret to learn that we weren't able to fully satisfy your expectations during your recent visit. This is our 7th visit to Screaming Eagle and the consistency of the food and service is notable. The quality and variety of menu items is large but not overwhelming. The wine list is probably the best in Aruba and better than many US restaurants. I highly recommend this restaurant.
It was a horrible experience! Seafood tasted like it was frozen and not fresh from the ocean! Prices are very high for the quality of service and food! Will never go back!
The restaurant is so lovely and the service so gracious.......love the meal preparation and freshness of all the ingredients. Wine list is extensive ...pricey....and menu choices extensive. Lovely evening.
Disappointed. Appetizer was blahhh. I make a better capprese at home. Place was not busy yet we were rushed to order and appetizer was there in 60 seconds before the wine. That’s faster then Burger King. Not my idea of fine dinning. But some people might like it. Not for me.
We chose Screaming Eagle for my birthday dinner and were so glad that we did.
From the cocktails to the dessert, everything tasted incredible.
Our server, Arminda, was absolutely wonderful. She had an infectious spirit with great energy. We mentioned that it was my birthday and she brought out a flaming birthday treat for me and sang quietly to me. Sometimes restaurants make a huge (or embarrassing) spectacle out of birthdays, but this was not the case. It just made me feel appreciated as a guest and like they wanted to give us a special treat.
My boyfriend had the braised bone-in pork shank and said it was “goo!od!!!” (His request that I spell it that way 😆) and the portion was perfect. I had the King fish. The truffled risotto it was paired with was so incredibly delicious that I’m pretty sure I’ll dream about it.
For dessert we ordered the warm Swedish apple pie and vanilla ice cream. The apples were the perfect mix of sweet and tart.
If you’re visiting the island, Screaming Eagle is a must for dinner one night!!
Beautiful restaurant, excellent food and service. One of the best restaurants in Aruba.
Celebrated 20th anniversary with wife and kids. Had a delightful dinner with excellent service. They even recognized our anniversary with a special treat at desert. It was a very fun evening.
Fun experience eating in bed !
Only reason for 4 stars on food was because my husband didn't love his rack of lamb
The food and staff were both impressive! We wanted someplace special for our 20th anniversary and we picked the right restaurant.
We chose to sit outside on the porch which fronts on the main road, so there can be some traffic noise. The interior is lovely with lots of hanging drapes. The menu is inventive and the presentation is very nice. Our server was quite professional and all the wait staff is very attentive. On Monday nights they offer a 44% discount on any bottle of wine, which allows one to obtain a nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price.
The food was delicious but my wife ordered the duck leg special and instead the waitress in training brought duck Creme Boulez Rather than complain she didn’t eat her enteee.
We visit everytime while in Aruba
Food is very good and the atmosphere inside and outside is really nice
Service is wonderful!
Zoals altijd voortreffelijk gegeten. De specials waren heel goed. Bediening heel vriendelijk. Heerlijke avond gehad. Mede dankzij de immer attente chef Erwin.
Loved the food, atmosphere, service we came back for a second time on our trip. Food and atmosphere were outstanding as first experienced, however, our second service experience was abysmal. The server didn't respond to our needs and the attitude was so offensive we just wanted to leave. If you go - ask to be seated in John's area.
We very much enjoyed our dining experience at Screaming Eagle, in March. The service was a bit slow, but the only real complaint was the ambience. We ate at a table for four on the patio, and it was very dark, with only a small dim lantern on the table. We had to use our phones to read the menu and much of the beautiful presentation was lost in the dim light. We did mention this and did get a second lantern but it really did not help much. The manager came to our table and we mentioned this as the only complaint all evening. He told us they are working to improve the terrace lighting. The food was delicious, with everyone in our party very pleased. The special was a black grouper and I had truffle risotto, to die for!
Great waitress. Food is good.
Very nice atmosphere with great food and service. I will go there again for dinner.
What a Great spot. Nice Ambiance Great food. Especially the Seafood. The King Clip was to die for !
The food was some of the best on the island. Unfortunely all that was ruined by the worst service I have experienced in ARUBA. After diner was finished we sat for over 15 minutes with no one attending our table. After summoning the manager it did not get any better. We got the check after declining desert but once again it took over 10 minutes for the check to be handled. All this in spite of the fact that the restaurant was not full.
Really tough to rate
While the food was exciting and excellent the service was just the opposite.
Waited 30 minutes for bread. We had too many waiters and waitresses (5)
John was very nice but got nothing done
That kept asking us but nothing getting done. Finally we get served but needed knives and bread plates. Then the dinner came and we had no forks or knives.
Now as far as the food goes. I had the roasted chickens which was superb and tasty, which came with an array of vegetables.kathy had the special grouper
It was wonderful with broccoli which was quite good. Judy had the same
Frank had the chicken he said it was ok. Roe has the coconut shrimp was good.
Paulie loved the lobster thermador or as he called it lobster terminator
We had a good time and found it very interesting
That behind where we sat was a upstairs rooms where you can eat in bed.
A real bed and people do with laying back shoes off and so on.
Seven beds for 2 and 2 beds for four people. Very interesting.
Just the poor, poor service ruined it for us. The 6 of us all felt exasperated at trying to order anything
Always eat here when we're in town....so good!
Just perfect. Great food and atmosphere.
Food was average. Lobster bisque was too watery and such a small portion. The scallops were under cooked and lacked flavor. Their wine list was nice but pricey. The rolls were great. The service and ambience were very nice
Great food with outstanding service. Our whole group had seafood and it was very good.
This was the most expensive (about US$140 for two) and out of the way venues ( US$10 by taxi from downtown) on our trip to Aruba yet the food was incredibly disappointing. If you have ever arrived at a restaurant and within minutes thought about leaving then you know how we felt.
It was especially disappointing as it appeared to be highly recommended in the online reviews. We asked about a number of items in an effort to find something a bit more mainstream (best we could find was pork-bellies). Quite frankly, we wished there had been a kids menu to order from. Hopefully the two families with two children each actually in the restaurant did get to order from it - if so we are envious. A burger and fries would have been a major improvement. The most edible of what we were served was the garnish.
We passed on the overpriced wine selections and ordered local beers. A heads up the beer glasses are the smallest we have ever seen - 7 ounces tops...maybe less.
If you are looking at the map and thinking this is ocean-side be aware it is across the divided highway and there is a row of tress mostly blocking any view of the sunset from their outdoor patio.
Somewhere along the way I heard that if you want to know the quality of the restaurant check out their bathrooms first. A sign above the toilet asks that you place nothing into the toilet due to septic problems. Judge for yourself.
We felt very safe in Aruba in general. The restaurant side street however immediately goes into a poorly lighted street with a LaQuinta hotel that looks semi deserted and gets worse from there. A couple stray dogs seemed to follow us...
Fabulous food, fabulous service, fabulous drinks! Can't wait to go back! Thank You!
I know this a popular Aruban restaurant, but I think it is way overpriced!!! Salad was good; seafood pasta also good. None of it outstanding. And very pricey. We've had way better meals at wonderful restaurants in Aruba for less than these pricey prices.
We have been here several times over the past several years during our annual trips to Aruba. This was the first year we were disappointed in the service. They had a great special on wine by the bottle so we ordered a nice Cabernet. The person opening and serving the wine needed some practice with wine spilled each time she poured. We ordered appetizers and dinner. Our appetizers came to the table. I was surprised we did not get any bread since other tables had bread baskets. I asked about bread and was told they would bring some. Come to find out they also forgot to bring our Amuse Bouche - a shot glass of gazpacho. They asked if we wanted that - sure since we were supposed to get it. Sorry, but this is a place that calls itself “fine dining.” It usually is, but our experience is telling us it is not living up ti its reputation.
Great food and wine list
I visited Screaming Eagle during a birthday trip Aruba. Perfect for special occasions and anniversaries. The food was absolutely delicious as well!
It was fine. A couple big and loud groups overwhelmed the wait staff.
The manager email me back immediately I told him my concerns he showed a lot of interest in addressing my concerns that shows character I will come back again thanks
Yuck...what else can I say.
Overdone steak..terrible tuna and dried out chicken.
Dinner was obviously bad.
One our "must does" each time we come to Aruba. Never disappointed. The daily catch was absolutely delicious! Great atmosphere outside directly across from the beach. Will be back next year for sure!
Although many people recommended this restaurant we were disappointed. We were seated outside, at the edge of the restaurant and there was a constant stream of people walking by and cars passing on the adjacent roadway. The restaurant was updating their cocktail menu so there was no menu available and thus we could not order cocktails. The felafel app we started with was very good but the grouper and mahi mahi entrees were disappointing.
