The Screamers concept was conceived by Kevin Witcher, a long-time veteran of the music and entertainment industry. Both the name and the concept is a tribute to The Scarlet and Cream Singers (University of Nebraska’s show choir, of which Kevin was a member) and its founding musical director Ray Miller. Ray created the group in 1972 to be the “ambassadors” of the university’s alumni association. The Scarlet and Cream Singers would go on for the next 35 years performing across the U.S. and abroad before disbanding in 2008. Although Ray Miller had retired from directing the group, he continued to be a mentor until his death in 2012. Scarlet and Cream will honor Ray’s legacy and the lives he touched throughout his career by continuing his work of cultivating local talent, giving them a place to learn and grow.

    Screamers is absolutely delightful. The staff are wonderful! Managing tables and talent takes a lot of energy and awareness! The food is less than you would hope for but the entertainment is top notch.

    First of all, when we got there, we had to wait for a while for someone to say that we had a reservation. When we get to the table, they just started cleaning the table!! The food quality was not that good as I expected from a 4.7 restaurant!! And lastly, When reserving the table, I put in the box that I want it to make a surprise birthday for my husband and asked for a piece of cake with a candle on it! However, they song a happy birthday song for 3 other people and I was expecting a cake till the last moment that we left!! But, guess what? We left without any cake or even happy birthday wishes from the team!! That was definitely my worst experience!!

We take pride in the quality of the food we serve, I'm sorry if you did not enjoy your dinner.     We had a wonderful time at Screamers - it was the perfect start to seeing Hamilton at the Lied. Our server, Ellie, was friendly and fun! The food was excellent. Looking forward to stopping in again the next time we are in Lincoln.

    Food is a bit overpriced, but understand since there is entertainment. Steaks are consistently overcooked. Perhaps I am just used to east coast where medium-rare is actually medium-rare and not medium-well.

    Lincoln’s only Cabernet! Love this place! We go often and have never been disappointed. They have an expanded menu that is better than ever! The entertainment is high quality and lots of fun!

    We love the entertainment factor but the food was less than impressive this visit. Meatballs were inedible (burned and rock hard), requests for preparation on other items incorrect. Portion sizes were small. Singing servers were great and we had a good time!

    The food overall was really good. However, the meat loaf was not very good at all. Don’t think it was made with hamburger. Didn’t care for it at all. It’s a fun place to go. The service was great.

    Went there on my wife's Birthday, the waitresses belted out Broadway tunes and 80's love songs (and they were good at it!). What a great experience. Food was excellent too. We'll be back again!

    I took my boyfriend there on his birthday. I asked the waitress to sing happy birthday she said she kept asking them to but it didn't happen. Then she asked if we needed anything else I askedu boyfriend if he wanted another drink she said I will go get your ticket. I was very upset it felt like we weren't welcome ready to get us out there. Bad experience

    Screamers is a great restaurant!! The food is good. The entertainment is spectacular.!! It is Terrific for children on Tuesday nights kids eat free, and Disney songs are fabulous.

    The singing was great. The drink orders took much longer than expected. It took over 50 mins to get food we ordered (I ordered the salad bar and had to ask for a plate 50 mins after ordering because our waiter could never be found to request so asked the waitress that brought out our food). Many people were seated but left because they didn’t get service. We had tickets at PBA and were late because of how long food took. (Reservation at 5:45 and performance at 7, we ordered at 5:55 and got food at 6:45).

    Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts, To be clear 2 parties with 2 guests each, with no reservations, were allowed to sit in the bar area and was warned that service would be delayed due to the large amount of guests all at once due to PBA event They opted not to wait. When your entrée is the salad bar we tend to drop off the plate when the other food is served so all eat together. Sorry food was delayed, we hope to have a chance to do better for you under more favorable conditions.

    Food was hit and miss, our server was amazing but kitchen messed up somehow so two people waited closer to 10 minutes to get their food after everyone else. Performances were fun—you’re overpaying for food to listen to karaoke essentially. I’m not sure I’d go back but am glad I went once to experience.

    Thank you for your visit. We pride ourselves on providing delicious quality meal options. As far as the entertainment goes. Yes we use prerecorded music which is where the similarity to Karaoke ends. These are young entertainers, some seasoned and experienced, others growing in their craft. Not drunk people with questionable talent yelling into a microphone. The courage it takes to do what the staff does everyday deserves respect. I fully support your decision not to return.     Amazing staff. Had the boys mesmerized from the start. We were a bit reluctant when we sat down but it was a great happening. We tried a little bit of everything as far as food is concerned; including 3 kinds of dessert!

    We had the best waiter (im sure they were all fabulous!)and the music made us want to stay longer. It was a wonderful experience with great food, the right amount of attention, and the prices were good.

    Very very upset and unhappy… $155 for poor poor food that was not tasty greasy and cold … and the drinks were horrible and we heard 4 performances for the over hour we was there for my daughters 16th birthday

    The singing servers make the experience at Screamers. Without them I would not even be writing this review. Food was very disappointing. My companion had the crab cake appetizer which was plated nicely with a generous salad on the side. But there was no crust on these cakes at all. The $28 Rib Eye I ordered was thin, underseasoned, and a mistake on my part to order it. The roasted potatoes were not roasted at all, just steamed and really uninteresting. We ordered the Red Velvet cake. Just don't. The musical numbers were varied, well timed, and well performed. Thanks to all who work so hard, but we won't be back.

    This is the second time we have tried Screamer’s. The first time wasn’t great but I thought maybe it was because they were slow and there was only four other tables. Last night they had the front room almost full so I was hoping for a better experience. My kids were disappointed that every song they requested was shut down and we were told they couldn’t sing it. The breaks between performances was long. The food tastes great but it seems very expensive for the amount of food you get. My assumption is the added price is for the entertainment. Our waiter seemed annoyed every time he came to the table and didn’t check on us very often. Things that I feel like they could do to improve is have an app that has their song list so you know what songs you can request and be able to request the song in the app. I feel like it would also be more worth the price if they only took 5 minute breaks in between songs. We went to celebrate the kids last day of school and they left disappointed that they didn’t even get to request a song.

    Our waiter was so good and SO fun! He even sang our song request which was amazing. Everyone in our group raved that the food was also extremely good - I had the chef’s mac n cheese and I loved it. I will recommend Screamer’s to anyone who is looking for a place to eat in Lincoln!

    We came before a concert so understandably was busy. We ordered our food with our drink order right when we sat down and it took over an hour to get it. People that got there after us got their food before us. We had to flag our waitress down to ask about our food and it ended up coming out in the next 3-5 minutes after we asked about it making me think they forgot to put our order in. A little overpriced for food but it was good - not amazing. Don’t order the chicken strips - looked like Tyson frozen strips for $17. The entertainment from the singing waiters was great - really the only thing that made the experience enjoyable.

    Thank you for dining with us I am sorry things didn't go well. It sounds as if the ball was dropped as can happen us being human and all. We are always happy to make things better if we can. I'm wondering if any allowances were made ie... we paid for the meal?? It is only fair to include the business's response to the problem not just that there was a problem. No excuses but the concert night brings challenges and we did cover the cost of the food. Oh and our chicken strips are quite popular.

    First time we have eaten here.....and our last. Pretty much a noisy place with average food that is a bit overpriced. Waitstaff were all friendly, so an above average rating for that. Entertainment was meh.....some good, some not so good....but overall just noisy. My wife and I found ourselves pretty much yelling at each other through dinner because of the noise level. If you like loud and noisy....this is your place. If you like to hear your table mates.....not so much. Food/presentation was average. Ordered NY strips and they were thin and had some gristle on both of our steaks. Mashed potatoes were served with an ice cream scoop and were otherwise non-noteworthy for texture and taste. Veggies came in a little bowl. Wife commented that the presentation and taste reminded her of our school cafeteria. Overall? People were nice. Food was average and overpriced. Noisy. Lots of great eateries in this area.....you can do better elsewhere.

    Hey Richard, Sorry you did not enjoy your experience at Screamers. We strive to strike a great balance between the live entertainment, which may be a bit louder than background music, with breaks that allow for conversation at the table. This way our guests enjoy a live show without having to sacrifice conversation as you would at a concert or musical production.     Went on a whim made reservations online and put that it was my husbands birthday. They didn’t say a word when we got there but I knew the host knew. Later the waiter/singer sang happy birthday to him. It was a huge surprise to him. He thoroughly enjoyed himself. Thank you screamers for a birthday he will remember. We may be back before we leave town.
