We really enjoyed the food at Scout! The prices were very reasonable, and we had wonderful service!
Great waiter. Great food and drink. Only complaint was it took a little while to get the food. Overall good dining experience with a large group.
A fantastic meal at the bar. New to us, it is now one of our favorite places!
This restaurant has a great ambiance and we sat outside which was very nice for the evening.
They have limited entree offerings and of the maybe 6 offers, they were sold out of three. The server failed to inform us when we were given menus and of course all but one of us had settled on the unavailable options. A big downer. I opted, only because I was really hungry for the salad with pears and pecans. Big mistake. It tasted like grass with sugar on it and a couple of pear slices. The fries with my husbands steak were cold. Anniversary choice was a Bad one.
I was very impressed with the food and the restaurant in general. The outdoor area that is apparently dog friendly looked very nice - not too crowded at all. I would definitely go back!
Scout is one of my top two favorite places in Atlanta and is 1/3 the price of the other so in most cases, Scout end's up being my #1 referral. Let me start by saying that their bar tends are the best you'll every find! They're not bartenders at all, they're true mixologist! The food is always fantastic and the service is there to match. I've been here dozens of times and have never been let down.
The server was very nice but we had to wait almost an hour for our food. The manager came over unprompted to apologize for the wait. There had to be something wrong going on in the kitchen. The worst part was that I ate half of my Tasso Carbonara and noticed something blue on the meat. The server took it back immediately and offered something else. The manager came over and apologized again but then explained the blue was off of a glove in the kitchen. It was not something I really wanted to know. They definitely need to work on the issues in the kitchen.
I had been there before and had a great experience. Hope they get it back to the way it was!
On my he d close. Perfect!
A very nice selection. Nice taste, had a fantastic meal. So the more unusual selections were really quite good
Beautiful space - had to wait a good bit at the hostess station - seemed confused and unorganized. Waitress was super helpful making sure my food was gluten free - would be even more helpful if gluten free foods were marked in the menu. Delicious food; mussels were amazing and our entrees were fabulous as well. We had a lovely evening.
One of our favorite restaurants. The food never disappoints.
Absolutely loved it. Patio was relaxing after a long week of work. A peaceful atmosphere. Will definitely book again
This was my first time at Scout, after hearing so many great things about it! The appetizers are delicious, and the drink specials were fun & tasty. It did not disappoint. The food, drinks, and service were spectacular. We sat on the outside deck and enjoyed the sunny weather and seeing people walk around Oakhurst. Can't wait to go back.
The food is creative and very good, but the service is very spotty - the emptier/later it got, the slower the service got. I'd like to return to see if this was an isolated incident, since we really enjoyed our appetizer and entrees. The only low note for the food was dessert - the bananas foster bread pudding reminded us of a banana bran muffin. The drinks, however, were outstanding - they might be good enough to warrant a trip to Scout just for the bar.
Unfortunately, we had a run in with someone from the restaurant that brought the first course. One of us had ordered the Ceasar salad with a vinaigrette instead of the Ceasar dressing and the person delivered it with serious attitude...We asked that he not come back to our table. If substitutions are now accepted, it should be more clear. But, our waiter was awesome, which is why I gave the service such a high rating. I know that the restaurant serves fish, which is awesome, but the smell in the restaurant was overpoweringly fish smelly. Wish we could have sat outside.
Took my mother and my daughter for an early Mother's Day. Was able to make a reservation, even for Saturday brunch which was nice (maybe not necessary, but nice). We sat on the deck in the sun, had a cocktail and delicious food. Will definitely go back!
Weather was nice, so we sat outside which is a great place for a relaxing Friday dinner. Wait staff was very friendly although out waiter did the drop the ball when he forgot to place our appetizer order. He quickly apologized and assured us it would not show up on our bill, which it didn’t. Two in our party had burgers which were very good. One had the mussels, which easily serves as entry even though shown as app. Will certainly order the mussels again on our next visit. A great addition to the variety of places in Oakhurst.
Wonderful, friendly, attentive service for brunch. Excellent recommendations and delicious food! We will be back for dinner!
Wow, everything about this place is fun. Great location in Oakhurst, has a bocce ball court, free pinball and table shuffleboard. The cocktails were very good. I loved our waiter. But the food was so bleh. The meat was dry and slightly overcooked, also not very hot. The place had enough redeeming qualities that I would go back, but I was bummed about the food.
Connor is the coolest waiter and the food is ridiculous! So excited that this gem of a restaurant is in Oakhurst. What a treat! Do yourself a favor and get the fish or steak on the menu and then the banana bread pudding. You will thank me later.
We went for brunch and it was fabulous! They have an awesome porch! Great food and great service!
We absolutely love having Scout in the neighborhood. It was especially fun on a Thursday in April since the community has live jazz outside of Scout these nights!
It was my first time eating dinner at this restaurant but I couldn't be any happier. Cocktail service was a slow so we did not opt to order another drink.
We were really disappointed with the food. Out of the three apps and two entrees we ordered, just the fried chicken was at all interesting. The food feels very average to below average. The cocktails are a lot of fun though! We will return and sit outside again (view and outdoor space is one of the best in the ATL) and have drinks and a few small bites.
Overall, the worst meal I've had in awhile. There were 7 of us and we ordered quote a lot of food and drink. Although the server was very pleasant and apologetic, it took her a long time to greet us and it took even longer for us to get our drinks. I'm not exactly sure how long that it took for us to get our drinks, but at a minimum, 15 mins. We ordered a bottle of expensive champagne, but they didn't have any champagne flutes. We also ordered some cocktails and glasses of wine. The wine amount looked to be bit short, seemed to be about 4.5z vs. the standard of 6z, sometimes 5z. After a long wait, we had the deviled eggs, ricotta and collard fritters, catfish fingers, and mussels for appetizers. All were unremarkable, other than the mussels. I would order those again. The entrees included Steak, Fish, Pork, Fried Chicken, Shrimp N Grits, Pappardelle, and Chick Pea Curry. I heard the Pork was over cooked. The Steak and Fish were "o.k", as well as the Fried Chicken. I heard that the mac N Cheese with the chicken was "weird" but the veggies were the best thing on the plate. I didn't hear feedback on the Shrimp N Grits. I ordered the Pesto Pappardelle that was SO dry that it was inedible. I was full by then, so I decided to take it home and doctor it the next day. I added some oil and cheese when I tried eating it for lunch, but it still wasn't good, so I ended up just throwing it away. What was good was the Chick Pea Curry. In fact it was delicious. So of all of the food, the only items worth ordering again were the mussels and the chick pea curry. But with the rest of the food not being restaurant worthy and the service being slow, I won't return. There are too many other good restaurants in Atlanta. Too bad though, I was hoping to like it. On a positive note, 2 of my friends had been there before for Brunch and enjoyed that meal.
Food was sub par. Service was bad—table was never cleared properly the entire meal. Drinks were hardly refilled. Table was sticky when we sat down. I had the pork and could only get through half. The fried chicken was gross. Will not be coming back.
Scout was a vibrant space. Much larger than we anticipated and it was full of guests. We enjoyed the vibe and decor. It felt comfortable and still lively.
The food items were reasonably priced. I had the fried chicken tray. My husband had the Bertie. We were both underwhelmed. The fried chicken was completely flavorless, though it was hot and perfectly crisp. It just didn't taste like anything. The mac and cheese was toddler appropriate. Cheese flavored, but w/o any noticeable cheesy or creamy texture. The creamed turnips were a bit underdone. The fries, however, were delicious and perfectly seasoned.
Service was slow and sub-standard. Very disappointing. It took mare than 45 minutes to get the appetizer and the dinner, which were served at the same time. Other tables seemed to be equally slow. Made a reservation to sit outside and was offered a high top table that you share with others. Two regulars tables opened up within minutes of being seated, but it took three requests to get one. Not sure why when we specifically requested an outdoor table. Guess it goes with the lack of costumer service. We won't be back.
Burger was just ok...nothing special. Seemed to be a little under staffed for a Saturday evening/night.
Fantastic cocktails. Wonderful locally sourced ingredients and great ambiance with a fun patio space. Favorites are the PBR battered cauliflower and the crock of French onion soup.
Pretty good food, but just doesn't call me back. Offensively loud venue.
Good food and service
Went to Easter brunch and enjoyed their wonderful food and cocktails on the porch. I strongly recommend the chicken and waffles although someone else in our group got steak and eggs that looked delicious. Dogs are allowed outside. The staff is friendly and efficient. Truly a hidden gem!
The food was very good and the waitress was attentive without being intrusive.
Great food, drinks and atmosphere! We will definitely be back!
Ate at this restaurant on Sunday for Brunch where the service was excellent. Went back with another friend on Wednesday. Had a different server on Wednesday where we had to ask for drink refills several times. The server seemed disinterested and bored. The food was very good and the restaurant is charming. I will go back but ask for another server.
The food was great, the atmosphere was laid back. We will definitely come back.
Fantastic food! We love this restaurant. My four year old son can’t wait to go back. My wife and I definitely had one of the best meals we have had in Atlanta at Scout. Happy to have finally tried this gem.
This was my first time going for brunch and it was quiet delicious! I was very satisfied with my "Southern" dish and even enjoyed a brunch treat which was homemade doughnut holes and icecream! I also loved their patio - on point with the nice weather!
