We had to wait a while to be noticed so we could order, but after that, service was quite good. A bit too noisy because of little kids, but the food was excellent. Great outdoor space, although was too hot to sit outside this time.
I took my 2 and 4 year old children as well as my mom for brunch. We sat outside and loved the view. There were some flies; a large fan added out there would be fantastic. The kale slaw on the chicken and waffles wasn't very tasty and didn't add much to the dish. There was a flavor in the dressing that i found unpleasant. Service was great and my kids' meals were perfect, albeit large for their age. My mom got the ricotta pancakes and she thought they were good but not mind blowing. We love Scout and typically don't need a reservation but had a tight time frame when we visited so I made the reservation and we were seated immediately. All of the staff were super friendly.
I went here for a nice dinner with family. There was a good atmosphere with live music and a large crowd outside and a few diners inside. The doors were open and the music played into the dining room. The dining room had a relaxed feeling with a clean and contemporary design. Both the food and drink menu were excellent, everyone at the table was extremely happy with their meal (started with deviled eggs and fried cauliflower and entrees of sea scallops which were amazing, salmon burger and two patty burger were great, and the 1/2 chicken was awesome as well). The only issue we had was an inexperienced floor staff. The hostesses were frazzled when we came for our table that we reserved and the dining room was not crowded, a young man who served waters grunted when we said hello, the waitress assigned to our table was not told until we went up to the hostess 20 minutes after being seated, and the server sheepishly apologized but didn't make much of an effort to make up for the long wait for attention. I would go back and recommend this place but would not ever say that the total package was a 5 star experience.
Great food and service!
Love this place! Service, ambience, food, drinks- all excellent. Highly recommended!
Had birthday dinner with family. Service was very good. Outside table was nice, fans helped as it was a hot evening. Too noisy *for me* to sit inside - most 'modern' establishments are for this old-timer who enjoys a relaxed dinner conversation.
Slightly overpriced. Glass of lukewarm white wine would have been more palatable at $8 than $10. They seem to have a competent Chef. Overall it was a great meal. I recommend it!
Loved those crab & avocado deviled eggs to start - two in our group really enjoyed great grilled trout while two more of us savored a spicy summer vegetarian pasta dish. Cocktails and beer selection is always superb. The shady deck overlooking the center of Oakhurst is the perfect place for little ones along with the cornhole boards in the yard - a very pleasant place to be outdoors at the end of a day!
Normally we love his place! Something was off this last go round. The food was not as good as it has been in the past.
Wonderful food. Great Service. Always enjoy the experience.
we were looking for a nice place for a Saturday night dinner and decided to try Scout. From the outside, the restaurant looks nice and casual. Inside, the restaurant is open but it is VERY loud.
The service at the restaurant was horrible. Even though we had a reservation (and there were MULTIPLE empty tables) it still took 20 minutes for them to seat us. Once we finally got seated, it took another 20 minutes for the waitress to come. When she did come to the table, there was no hello, no 'my name is..', no 'sorry for the delay and welcome to scout'; none of that. Instead she said was ' you ready?'. Not a great start.
We started with the pretzel bites which were decent but the sauce and the bites did not mix well. The appetizer came out quickly but the rest of the food took a while. In between, the server never came to check on us, never came to see the food its on its way, never came to see how the appetizer was, nothing.
The food finally came and we had ordered a burger with brussel sprouts and a salad with goat cheese. The brussel sprouts had good flavor and while the salad was decent, there was barely any goat cheese at all.
Overall, the service was extremely poor, the ambiance very loud and the food alright
This is a favorite restaurant but service tonight was awful. They don’t seem to have enough staff.
This place is discussing and the manager is inexperienced and foul. Our food was nasty and undercooked ... the manager slammed our plates down on the table after we complained about waiting for 1.5 hours for our food. The hostess was rude and didn’t acknowledge us when we walked in. The server was great ... so that was the one saving grace. Don’t waste your time here. The menu is unimaginative and bland ... and the noise level is insane. Total dump.
Try the wings! Some of the best smoked wings I’ve had in Atlanta. I think I would have rated at 5 stars if we’d had a better salad. Ordered the kale slaw and it was grainy. Server and manager were very apologetic and responded by removing from our bill but... we weren’t offered any replacement green so it left a hole in our meal. I would go back tho and def try more from the menu.
Go to Scout and order the hanger steak now!! The tenderness and combo of salty with a hint of sweetness is the best I’ve ever had. You will be well taken care of from the moment you walk in the door. Enjoy!
A great place for hanging out and delicious food. Would recommend to anyone local or visiting Atlanta
Great place, I wish the food would be a bit better. Definitely great selection on the menu, but the food falls a bit short of expectations. In particular my short rib was near beef jerky consistency. We will definitely be back as we may have just cought a bad day. The location is beautiful and the service excellent.
Scout is areal find for us. It is a neighbors eatery that has a great bar, excellent liquor selection and good food. It is casual and comfortable with an interesting ambience. We will probably eat st Scout’sweekly.
Enjoyed eating here on a beautiful night in the ATL. Sit outside on the deck, it feels like you are in a tree house. The shrimp Creole, which was more like shrimp and grits was fabulous. My husband for the bacon wrapped pork and he really enjoyed it. The history of the building is also very interesting.
I enjoyed the food and the service. I just notice whenever I come that my food is undercooked and they have to do it again. It comes out fine the 2nd time and they were apologetic. Just not sure why it happened at all. It happened with the fruitata during brunch one time and then the salmon, even though when I placed the order, I asked for it not to be pink and fleshy
Perfect place to meet friends for Sunday brunch. Easy parking options. Food and Service were outstanding.
We were there when they opened. Service was excellent and everything was very prompt, efficient, and well done.
Loved the pan-fried rainbow trout from Andrews. The Workinghorse cocktail in tap (!) is a refreshing take on a Moscow Mule.
The staff was so pleasant and friendly. Our server (Sonya) was exceptional and the food over the top. However, it did get a bit noisy as the evening progressed.
Sonya Kay provided excellent service. Great interpersonal skill set
Fantastic looking restaurant inside and out. Wasn't sure why it was so empty on a Saturday for brunch. But I enjoyed myself and would definitely go back. Loved the neighborhood and the service. Even though my omelette had to be recooked. But it was great.
Went for Sunday brunch and sat outside. Great food, quick service, LOVED the patio and getting to sit outside. Will definitely frequent this spot for a leisurely weekend brunch and want to visit for dinner and drinks.
The cocktails were AMAZING but the service was meh.
The food was delicious and our waiter was top-notch. We had a toddler with us and he did a great job at making sure she got served first, and then got our (really good!) cocktails out quickly too!
Excellent service--friendly and accommodating staff. Cocktails were creative and on point. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and everything was timely and flavorful. We all especially loved the pimento cheddar dip.
Great meal, friendly and inviting atmosphere.
We had a wonderful experience at Scout while visiting the area from Florida. The cauliflower app was amazing...all our meals were excellent. Drinks were on point... the bartender Nate is awesome!
Got a last minute reservation and had an amazing meal, great service and overall wonderful experience. This place is perfect for a quiet date night or for a family birthday or special occasion. It's very kid friendly too.
We've been here several times - always good. Brought the dog and ate on the patio. Would recommend
Great food. Great service. We will definitely return.
Waitperson was great - Keira? - and she was very patient and attentive. Had 94 year old Mother with us & she was also very sweet/ kind to her ( hard of hearing) . Good brunch & everyone enjoyed.
We heard about Scout from a friend and ended up making a last minute reservation after being underwhelmed with the brunch at another establishment. So glad we tried it! The food was the best brunch we've had in ATL so far and I was especially appreciative that it wasn't overrun and loud but still stupid chic and tasty. Admittedly, we there there before the 12:30 alcohol ban lifts, but we had a great time and plan to take my folks next weekend. Thank you for accepting reservations! It's such a pain when places don't.
We really enjoyed the food at Scout! The prices were very reasonable, and we had wonderful service!
Great waiter. Great food and drink. Only complaint was it took a little while to get the food. Overall good dining experience with a large group.
A fantastic meal at the bar. New to us, it is now one of our favorite places!
This restaurant has a great ambiance and we sat outside which was very nice for the evening.
