The menu was too limited; nothing I really wanted. Not a lot of choice. Martini was sent back because something was bad about it. Mostly, it was the menu that was unimpressive and just too limited. The food itself was just so-so; seemed rushed or like it had been sitting around a while. Service was good. Space is always nice. Not as good as the first couple of times I have been there. This was 4th visit.
Very good across the board and a good value. Beautiful use of a space that was waiting for a restaurant like Scout. 1 word, solid.
Hands down, this is one of the best restaurants in Atlanta. We love the food and the personable staff. I cannot say enough great things about this establishment and the experience we have every time. Invest the time and enjoy a nice laid back environment that will appease the most critical "foodies". The city of Decatur is blessed to have this restaurant in Oakhurst. I know that Scout will continue it's excellence at the highest level which makes this gem such a rewarding dining experience.
This is one of our go to favorites for celebrating special times with people we love. This last visit was great - a milestone birthday brunch for the family. I love that we can eat great food in a beautiful space, that isn't too crowded and the kids are welcome too.
Premade microwaves pancakes were scalding hot - burned my mouth out. Mimosa made with powdered orange drink instead of real orange juice. Not worth the hype.
I’m in the hospitality industry and typically don’t leave reviews; however, we were so delighted by our experience at Scout I felt it was well deserved. Cocktails were on point, the menu was well executed and had just enough variety to make us want to come back and try more. Thanks Scout team, see y’all again soon.
We didn't have a great experience at dinner. The pork belly was so fatty, it was inedible and off-putting. My husband's hanger steak arrived cold and the fries were a salt bomb. My salmon patty was fine. The brussle sprouts were swimming in oil. They were soggy. The service was soooooo slow. It was clear the were short staffed. I was really disappointed.
The service was remarkably slow and unattentive. This was a highly disappointing experience for us. Typically, this is one of our favorite places to dine out. I hope they can sort out some of the service issues, as we hope to keep this as a neighborhood go-to spot.
They were extremely accommodating to our large party with three toddlers. Craft cocktails were very good too. Wonderful place.
Everything was great except for the multiple tables of screaming kids. We have kids but leave them with sitters when possible when we dine out at nice places like Scout. Maybe consider having a separate or closed out area for families with little children. It’s disrespectful to the guests that are there spending $50+ PP to have to listen to constant yelling and screaming. One of the parties child would scream ‘mommy mommy mommy’ and it happened about 50 times
We were late to our reservation, and the kitchen closed in less than ten minutes. They were very accommodating and the food was great! Our server was patient and kind, we will definitely be back!!
This was a discovery - I can’t believe I’ve been in Atlanta this long and not known about Scout. The menu, food, drinks, service and ambiance combined to create an unforgettable evening
I was in a party of 7 and we waited 45 minutes to get our food and the food was cold!!
Definitely a hidden gen!!!! The menu is fantastic and those chefs in the kitchen know what they're doing. Service snd atmosphere awesome as well
Food was great, service was great. Ok to have little kids at brunch. Inside and outside seating. Nice atmosphere.
Brunch was wonderful! We had a reservation and got in and out in a timely manner.
Scout is fantastic, we love the ambiance, our waitress Virginia was excellent. We want to go back for a date night and sit at the bar.
A nice variety of options on the menu and our table of 5 enjoyed each of our meals. Food did not take long to come out despite being Saturday night. Only snag was they tried to give us food from another table but otherwise strong service. Highly recommend for an enjoyable evening out with family or friends.
really good crab cakes. I will return. We got there at 2:15 and the kitchen closed at 2:30. they were very nice and accommodating.
We enjoyed our visit and although our server was very nice it took over an hour to get food for 4 without much explanation. Once it came we were very pleased with the portions and tastes. We will be back to try again when we have time to wait.
What a great find tucked away from all of the noise of the Beltline.
The food was great, and the staff was just the right amount of attentive.
I will be back.
Overall, our experience at Scout was positive. Our entrees (grouper however, they were both very cold and we sent them back to the kitchen to be warmed. Ironically, the glass of bubbles I ordered at the bar before dinner was not cold; fortunately, the bartender exchanged it for a delightful glass of wine.
We asked that the loud heavy metal music be changed and they accommodated our request to a station much more conducive to a nice meal. Our server was fantastic and the atmosphere was lively.
Excellent. A neigjborhood gem! Worth the visit.
The Stronganoff was a nice warm dish with some contrast and noted freshness as well as decent balance to the rich Short rib. Good presentation and amount. The Georgia trout dish was quite bland and the fish was cooked just ok. Typically trout should appear less steamed and should have a nice crust and crispiness to the skin.
Delicious brunch in a great location! Love the pinball, the shuffle board and the outdoor seating! Great cocktails as well
Scallops were good, but the couscous tasted like lucky charms marshmallows. The salad had way too much mayonnaise based dressing. We've had better food their before and we love the overall experience. Would like to see a better beer selection.
Overall experience was great. Took a minute for water refill and 2nd cocktail to get to me, but that’s was okay since it was valentine’s night
Take a chance on Scout. You won’t be disappointed. The ambiance is fantastic. The service is great. The food is fresh and new.
I booked Scout for 7 people the night before the Super Bowl. While they were, understandably, very busy, the staff took great care of our group from the bartender and hostess to our server, we had a great experience. The food was terrific (I got kudos from my visiting friends). Highly recommend!
The food and service was great. It is a bit loud though. Definitely will return.
Overall a great meal with friends. The space is not as loud as so many others. Service was very pleasant but felt a little rushed at the beginning. Two of us got the special (beef stroganoff), which was excellent. One dish was served less warm than we would have liked. Overall--great value and fun place.
I was there with 9 other family friends for my husband’s birthday. We were given a nice area to fellowship and enjoy brunch. Virginia was our waitress; and she was pleasant, relatable and welcoming. I’d definitely recommend her! It was everyone’s first time. The food was great! We ordered mussels, salmon and avocado toast, avocado deviled eggs, the crab cake and eggs dish, French toast, and chicken and waffles, pancakes and the breakfast potatoes. The pancakes have a different consistency, almost grainy but we’re good. No one had complaints. Even the fruit was fresh and sweet!
We enjoyed our date night at Scout. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Noise was elevated- not the place for quiet conversation. Fun ambience. Enjoyed our meals. Think the redfish would be better without the skin atop the chowder. Avocado deviled eggs were awesome! Would definitely go back!
The food is a wonderful contemporary twist on comfort food. Delicious!!!
I've been to Scout twice before, usually sitting outside, which is a different experience. Sitting inside (it was very cold out!), the noise, even though they placed us in a corner, was so deafening that we could barely hear each other. There were no gluten free seafood or fish options, but they did make a substitution so that I could order a seafood dish. Our server was brusque and efficient, but not particularly warm or friendly. She did not check back with us after we were served to see how the food was. For what I ordered, I thought it was a bit pricey. I did enjoy the wine selection (a daily special), but $15 for a glass of wine was also a bit over the top, even if it was very good.
Amazing cocktails. Food was good.
I love Scout! The outdoor patio is amazing, they have corn hole in the grass courtyard, and the interior is a beautifully restored old building with wood rafters and walls of windows. Food is great with a seasonally changing menu. Lots of fun drinks and draft beer.
Delicious food (split a catfish fingers appetizer and then had a trout dinner/salmon burger) and great cocktails (an Old Fashioned and a Gibson).
Great food, service and atmosphere.
Great chicken and waffles. Nice and sunny inside with all the windows. Good for groups.
