I was expecting mimosa and Bloody Mary bars and an omelette station, all of which I read about online. The waiter said the menu changes the previous week!!! I was a little disappointed about that, but the food was great.
Good was average at best. Service was below average. Was very disappointed in the selections in the "buffets" which equated to very limited pre made store bought options and not really a buffet at all. Tons of staff moving 2-3 glasses from one side of the restaurant to the other but no one available to fill my 2oz water glass? Won't be back.
Great Fathers Day!
Good drinks and great service. However my friends and I decided to come for brunch for a friend’s birthday. Three people in the group are vegan and there were absolutely no vegan options for brunch. We had to eat at the Overeasy instead. It’s time for them to get with the times and have at least one or two vegan or vegetarian options. We like to eat also!
The service is very slow, especially when there is a band or parties going on.
There was a wait for my drink and there was another wait for the ticket but overall the experience was amazing and our waitress was SUPERB...
Fun atmosphere, good food, great happy hour prices, but loud when they have live music. Also, their lanes were down while we were there which was a disappointment to our group.
Super fun atmosphere, slow service & kind of confusing because it seemed like we had two servers. And then sometimes they would both disappear. But overall still a good experience because of the drinks and food.
I've tried this place twice now. The first time was bumpy, but they were new so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. It's been a year or two since my last visit and the experience was generally poor all around again. Unfortunately, there won't be a third time.
I didn’t realize that Sunday’s it’s buffet brunch only until 3pm. My mom who has food allergies basically paid $25 for a salad and fruit. Some of the food was dry, especially the chicken. I was a little disappointed and didn’t feel like it was worth the price, and the taste left a lot to be desired. Love the Statler, but I probably wouldn’t go back to Scout.
Nice place, unique atmosphere, reasonable-ish brunch for a special occasion.
Worst experience we have had in a LONG time. Service was non existent. We had about 3 separate waiters because we would place an order and then nothing happened. The food, when it did come, was awful. We ordered appetizers and dinner and nobody was happy with their food in a party of 5. Thought this would be a fun family night out with college age kids because of the bowling, pool tables, etc. and it was a total bust. Everyone wanted to leave. Including me. Do not waste your money or time. Very sad because we really wanted to like it.
The food was outstanding. My only complaint was our waiter was not good. Had to keep asking for the same things multiple times or we couldn’t find him. I don’t know if he was new or what. He only had to get drinks and clear dirty dishes as far as I could tell, and there wasn’t many tables he had to do that for. The brunch was wonderful I would give it another chance and just hope the waiter is having a better day.
great local cider and beer, food was okay but a bit pricey for the portions. I know we are in downtown dallas though, so that's to be expected. overall a really fun place to grab a bite and play some pool.
Love Salsa Sundays! It's wonderful to have a place to get together and to dance.
Service was SLOW and it wasn’t busy. We waited about 15 minutes before anyone came and got our drink order and that was even after asking. Order queso for an appetizer and it came out cold. Gumbo was ok and the fried chicken bucket was just ok as well.
It is a great place to let your hair down. I really enjoyed the experience.
Food was very good. However, the service was incredibly disappointing. Food was being brought to the wrong tables, it took forever to get water or even a waiter to come to chat with you. There were multiple bartenders huddled up talking to each other and ignoring customers and failing to ask customers if they wanted another round or even clearing the used dishes. The roof shook violently because of a party happening right above the restaurant, which was incredibly scary. Bathroom facilities were dirty and messy with paper all over the floor and no paper in the stalls. This definitely should not be part of the Statler experience.
We had a group of 10 to celebrate a birthday. Our server, Rachel, was amazing! She was friendly, charismatic and able to handle everything with ease. She made our visit even better by being so helpful and essentially "hosting" the party we were having. We ended up staying for more than 3 hours and loved every minute of it. We'll definitely be back. PS: Order that queso, you won't regret it! DELICIOUS!
Always great food and service! Love the band you had Thursday night, The Last Bandoleros!
Everything was really except we ordered four dishes and they were all kind of cold. They still tasted good just wish they were hotter. Other than that loved the place.
My birthday brunch!
First visit and what a surprise, there is a bowling alley in the restaurant. Cant wait to return.
Great for groups! Fun and bright atmosphere - good for mingling.
This was our second visit and, most likely, our last. Just as the case last time, the place wasn’t but half full, tops, and the staff seemed oddly overwhelmed. (We waited 30 minutes for a margarita.) NOBODY had a clue about the bowling. When I made the reservation I was told it’s “first come, first serve.” When we arrived, we were told there’s a list. She put us on the list and said it’d be our turn in an hour. An hour later she said 45 minutes to an hour, lmao!! The food is so-so, not much effort put there. It’s a cool place; they just need to figure out what the hell they're doing!
The Statler advertises as a retro cool property. Scout is nothing more than a typical run of the mill sports bar. The atmosphere is commercial and seems to cater to the ball-cap and cargo shorts crowd. The menu is uninspired and more or less an after thought. The streaming music was given no thought for what was playing; a horrible mix of rock and bad 80s pop. This property definitely feels like a franchise and not a Hilton managed hotel.
The restaurant was not at capacity yet it took a very long time for our food to be brought out.
We are staying at The Statler and saw on FB that LeFreak were performing. We decided to book a table. The drinks were good, the food was good and the music and energy was great!
The 80s band was great. Food was delicious. Drinks were well made. But service was forgetful and very, very slow. Go for the overall experience that just happens to also include good food. Don't go with dinner as your priority.
Great food, great service. Only negative was when we got there it was super loud, but still fun and at a level that you could hear the people at your table, but then they cranked it up to an 11 and conversation was not happening. Still a great place though!!!!!
We had a great time there with a group would definitely come back.
Great food in an atmosphere that is fun and energetic. The pool tables and bowling lanes make the place that much more fun.
The hostess was very accommodating and was able to switch our table based on our request to a high top. Drinks and food were delicious and the service was attentive and quick. We had a large table and she was able to split our tab with zero problems. Fun casual environment.
The food was terrific, it was noisy but the staff was very accomodating.
We had a great time on our night out at Scout! We went for dinner and to see a band that was performing on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was fun, but not too crowded. The food was good and reasonably priced for the area. I loved my cocktail!
Food was excellent though a little overpriced. Server was nice, but had more than he could handle and was a little slow. The band was great. Will return for sure.
Cool place, yummy food and exceptional
Place has a cool vibe but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Food was ok. Drink selection was adequate.
Scout is a great place for a night out, especially when live music is featured. On the night we visited, our server, Darrin, was very attentive and nice, even though he had several tables to take care of. He even continued to check in on us when we moved to the bar for a better view of the band. We had the fajitas for two, which were very good. It was more food than my wife and I could eat, and reasonably priced at $35. Scout has a great selection of wine and draft beer, and serves solid cocktails. And of course, it's a great place for people watching because it draws a very diverse crowd. We'll be regulars at Scout.
Loved the design, the menu, the quality of the food. Highly recommend the white bean hummus and bucket of chicken. Overall it was super loud and hard to have a conversation. They take your card at the beginning to start a tab, so immediately it felt like we were at a bar and not out for a diner date. Think the combo of activities/dining wasn’t as fun as we thought it would be, made it kind of too busy to completely enjoy our time.
