My daughter took me out for a week later Mother's Day celebration on Sunday Brunch at Scott's at Jack London Square in Oakland. Aside from beautiful waterfront view, I am also amazed by their Sunday's brunch. Lots of foods varieties, excellent service - the server, I didn't get her name - she was very accommodating. She gave me a surprise ice cream with candle for Mother's day celebration and took picture of us. That was awesome. I will definitely come back here again. highly recommended for special event!
Celebrated our engagement. Staff were so friendly and supportive that they gave us a free dessert, champagne, and photo card as a remembrance. Never been treated so well. Thank you all!
Food and drinks were top notch!
Sat at our table for about 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. That person said she wasn’t our server, but would take our drink orders and new server would come in a few minutes. Drinks delivered, waited an additional 20 minutes before new server showed up to take our order, so ordered about 40 minutes after our reservation. Food was good, nothing special
Beautiful table, friendly staff and the food was excellent.
Broken Record on Scotts JLS -- always good, classy & homey!
Service was very slow. Food was good. Took 10 minutes to see a waiter.
Excellent service...lovely view...great salads and dessert.
Oysters were horrible . Not fresh, expensive. Told the waiter they were bad, he brought out 2 more which were also bad. We gave up on trying to get food fresh oysters.
Entree was decent, but the poor day old oysters ruined it.
Will not go back
Went for mother's day with the family. Despite it being a busy day with full tables all around the staff handled the special occasion with attention and the meals were enjoyed by all.
it was mother's day, and crowded, and noisy. Service was slow, and not very good. Long time to take order, and get food. I felt the quality of the food has diminished in the past few years. It used to be great, now just ordinary. Disappointing.
For $80 a person this was quite the experience. Would not do it again. Scotts did not refresh items fast enough. My girlfriend and mom kept saying there were waffles. I went up there 4 times. I told them you all must be mistaken. My gf came back with a waffle for me (one-the last one she said) a half hour later. I never saw the fruit refreshed, so no fruit for me. They had 5 types of eggs Benedict's if memory serves (overkill). Bacon, sausage, 3 types of salmon, omelet when someone was manning the station, eggs with locs, potatoes, gumbo and jambalaya. Nothing that knocked your socks off and most of it was lukewarm to cold (salmon dishes cold as ice). Not worth $80 a piece! Nearly a $300 bill and I was hungry by 4 pm. They could learn from the leading holiday brunch specialist in Berkelely. Which, by the way, was $45 and also sits on the water.
For $79/person for Sunday brunch, this wasn't even worth $50/person. the live jazz was nice and so was the view, but that's where it stops. the food selection was limited - even their omelette station only had a few ingredients. they kept running out of food and it took them a long time to refill. ruins the experience when you have to wait 10 minutes to have something refilled and at times, people had to tell the staff to refill something.
Buffet was good, particularly enjoyed peel and eat shrimp. Price point a little high for what we ate.
Excellent dining for all ages. Not quiet and romantic, but great for a fun special occasion like Mother’s Day.
I went for Mother's Day and it was wonderful. The staff is amazing!! The food was OKAY if this were based on the food alone I would subtract 20-30 dollars from each tab.
Awesome staff, delicious food and drinks!!
We have been to this brunch before on Easter and been blown away by exceptional service. Mother’s Day was a bit of a disappointment in the service department. They felt understaffed. We had to ask for our dirty plates to be bussed. The omelet chef disappeared for awhile and the carving station had one person managing the prime rib, ham, gumbo, and jambalaya. Ice cream unmanned. Had to find someone. Had to ask for more coffee consistently. Scalloped potatoes out until someone asked if there were more coming. Just a different experience for sure. For $80 a plate did not feel like it was worth it this time.
Fantastic brunch as usual! My kids and I have been there the past 3 years for Mother’s Day. Excellent variety including seafood and breakfast items. Bottomless mimosas and Bloody Mary bar were perfect! Keep up the excellent work!
I had a great time with a friend here. The food was well presented. We both had fish options (swordfish, blackened catfish) and they were delicious. The drinks from the bar were great and so was the service. I was so full, I didn't try dessert and that's my only regret.
My mom and I came here on the day before Mother's Day and were seated by the window, with a beautiful view. Service was excellent all around...Bus person was so enthusiastic and helpful. Our waitress was excellent, as was the hostess who greeted us in the beginning. Food and service was classic, and non-pretentious.
Fantastic experience from beginning to end. Enrique was our waiter and we could not have had a nicer and more conscientious guy. Even though the restaurant was busy, Enrique made several stops to check on us to make sure everything was okay. When my wife requested Bleu cheese stuffed olives for her dirty martini, he had some hand stuffed since there were none in stock. She greatly appreciated the effort he made to make this happen.
For dinner my wife started with the Caesar Salad and I had the Shrimp Cocktail. Both were excellent! My wife enjoyed her Petrale Sole Dore Entree. I had the crab encrusted swordfish and loved it! We both agreed we would order them again.
For desert we shared the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding topped with vanilla ice cream. It hit the spot.
After dinner we took a stroll around Jack London to enjoy the views and the ambiance. We are definitely looking forward to another visit soon.
It took someone 15min to ask us for our order and was offered free sodo
One of my favorite places in the Bay area. Service was great, food not quite as good as I remember from previous visits. Location is so wonderful: view, proximity to Yoshis, and the wonderful whole of Jack London Square.
Very disappointed in service. Steak and lobster was very disappointing. The black and tan dessert was not same as what was shown on website.
Our table started with the Crabcakes and Clam Chowder, which were both, hot and tasty! Our meals included Salmon Piccata and the Grilled Petrale Sole Dore. The food was good but not as hot as we would have liked. Our waitress was great, friendly and attentive.
Great setting, beautiful patio, awesome waitstaff. The food was typical seafood fare, but the atmosphere put the experience over the top!
It was my boyfriend’s 60th birthday and it will be forever memorable. The service, food and drinks was excellent. It was a romantic evening for us!
We had the most outstanding service at Scott’s for our anniversary dinner. Champagne, delicious halibut, special dessert and a red rose. Loved the view of boats and water.
Food was very tasty and nicely presented. Service was a little slow, just a little. I asked for a window table with view of the water, and we had an excellent table. I definitely recommend Scott's!
The atmosphere and view were lovely, the service was attentive, the food presentation was note worthy and our meals excellent! We had dined there a few years ago and we were not disappointed by our decision to go again. We will return.
Celebrating birthdays at Scott's is a tradition for me and my friends. With the delicious food, stellar service, and delightful ambience it is the complete package for any special occasion.
This is one of the best places for Sunday brunch. It is especially nice for a birthday celebration.
This was an awesome experience the wait staff was excellent and they even gave our special guest a rose and free dessert!!
Appetizer shrimp cocktail was not what we expected we thought they were the big shrimp but they were the small shrimps
Amazing food with epic views of the water. Will definitely return!
We were treated royally by our waitress Jacqueline. We hope to see her again on our next visit.
Everything was great!
Servers and service are always great!!
Family visit fun
