Scott's Seafood - Oakland Ratings and Reviews
Had the seafood saute'. What there was was excellent but the serving portion was sparse. Two bites each of shrimp, scallops, and crab. Six bites at over $30 per plate. Hardly an ample meal. Waitress was marginal. Brought the wrong dressing and was slow at getting us the deserts. But the waterfront view was as usual...spectacular.
We have dined here for years -- but not in quite some time. The new menu items are very good (we had the bourbon glazed salmon and the salmon stuffed with crab). The staff is friendly and the atmosphere casual and relaxing. It's a great place to visit with old friends!
This is the second Thanksgiving that my family has spent at Scott's. We like the okd school festive atmosphere around the holidays.
The fish is fresh. This time I had the NY steak- which was excellent. The pumpkin pie was delish! We also tried the sole- which was fresh and perfectly cooked.
The wait staff is lovely,
We decided not to cook for Thanksgiving and went here instead. I'm glad we did! The valet was convenient, the ambiance was quite nice, and the service was terrific. It was a bit of a madhouse given the holiday, but our servers were pleasant despite working their tails off.
The Thanksgiving meal was good, but not exceptional. The price was outrageous considering how little was spent on such simple and common ingredients. The service was quite good. The staff was friendly. The restaurant was cold and drafty - the ventilation needed to be turned down. The music, as usual, was inappropriate for the occasion and the diners. Silence would have been preferable.
Went for Thanksgiving dinner. Everything was delicious. Wish there was an another option besides mashed potatoes— maybe sweet potatoes😊. The service was awesome. Servers were walking around offering extra servings turkey and dressing for those who ordered the Thanksgiving entree.
WE GO FOR THE ATMOSPHERE ON THE WATER, BUT OUR LATEST LUNCH WAS BETTER THAN USUAL FOR SCOTT'S....VERY NICE PORTION OF PERFECTLY EXECUTED AHI, AND A VERY NICE CHOPPINO...EXCEPTIONAL CHARM WITH WAITER SCUBA STEVE....NICE THANKSGIVING FOR A COUPLE WITH NO FAMILY...WISH THEY COULD HAVE DELAYED THE XMAS DECOR HOWEVER.
The service was great. We came her for thanksgiving expecting a buffet, but wasn’t. Bummer. Anyway, the food was okay, oyster is not as fresh as I would’ve like, they had a turkey dinner but didn’t say all you can eat on the menu, as I saw the server walking around refilling other guests who have ordered the turkey meal.
The price is definitely not worth the food. 4 people for 500, would’ve chosen a nice steak house at Harris Resturant in the City for the same price.
My friend wanted to leave bc we came for one thing the crab ravioli but they were serving brunch ! OMG! Just let me say we are both very glad we stayed! Everything was to die for from the succulent slices of prime rib to the desserts like creme brûlée , chocolate mousse top with fruit ! The only thing I didn’t care for was the crab which tasted like it had been boiled in plain salted water ( butter or obay ) otherwise can’t wait to return!
I always enjoy dining at Scott's Seafood! I love their food and friendly service; and of course, their beautiful restaurant! It's consistently satisfying. Everyone I take there, walks away saying that they are going to bring a spouse and/or friends back to enjoy the restaurant. I don't live in the area, but when I visit, it is my go-to restaurant!
We have dined here often in the evening and for lunch. This was our first time for Sunday brunch. It was mediocre food at outrageous prices. While we recommend it for lunch and dinner avoid it for brunch? The Walnut Creek location is superior to Oakland if you have a choice?
We are regular customers and brought in a table of 8 out of town guests for a very special occasion. The food and music were great as always. We were recognized and welcomed back by several staff members. Our server however did not recognize us. She was largely absent and seemed put out when we asked for simple things. It was pretty embarrassing to have talked it up so much and have a lackluster experience.
We tried the trio of appetizers. The crab cake and shrimp popcorns are quite good but the calamari was tough. We had the Clam Linguini as our entree. It has only about 6 clams. Kind of steep for $33. The taste was fine. Overall, the food was only adequate for the price.
Menu is very very pricey. Swordfish was $35, and a 16 oz. NY Steak was $47.
That's a bunch!
Service: took a long time, close to 1/2 an hour, for our appetizers to arrive, and then, about 5 minutes later, the main courses were brought. That's inexcusable.
Then, dessert took almost 1/2 and hour to arrive.
At one point, my dining companion had to ask for more water, since the busboy had been very inattentive.
I won't go back there.
