We had a very good experience in every way. The staff was friendly and attentive. I had requested a waterfront table because I had out-of-state guests. Not only did we get that, but were also offered a bottle of Scott's white wine gratis in honor of our guests. Food was attractive and delicious! No complaints here.
We had made reservations for Sunday lunch on line; there was no indication brunch was the only option if we wanted to sit away from the too loud to talk music; when we arrived we were told we could have a limited menu and sit in the bar area but the music was too loud for us to have a business discussion and we chose the brunch buffet. It was only ok BUT when we got the bill for $65 per head, we were blown away as no one had told us it would be so ridiculously expensive. Bad experience all around. We won't be back.
Excellent as always
Our favorite dining pkace for any occasion
Went for a dinner to catch up with friends I'd not seen in a while. Was in the mood for seafood.
Great views of the waterfront, with large windows and lots of tables available with good view. Menu was typical of high end seafood and steakhouse restaurant.
Oysters on the half shell were very fresh and tasty, with a nice mignonette sauce accompaniment. Had the surf and turf, and the lobster and steak were both well prepared and tasty. Vegetables were good but pretty standard fare of green beans and carrots. Mash potatoes also good. For dessert, had the creme brulee, and it was also well prepared.
Overall, very solid meal, but would be nice to see a bit more creativity in the menu.
Service was very slow. Our server seemed very “put out” when we had questions about items on the menu. It was evident he is used to having people just pick an item and tell him.
The food was very ordinary. Like recipes that have been updated in 15 years.
Made for a boring food experience. Glad I was with a friend who is very warm and entertaining. She mad the best of the lunch.
Great booth facing the water. Service was fantastic. Disappointed that the salmon was farmed. Food was good, but in years past food was outstanding.
Great food. I had the cream pesto seafood pasta, which was delicious. We also ordered the calamari which had a wonderful sauce on it. However, two of us ordered medium rare steak and it came almost well done unfortunately. The service was also a bit slow, as we had to flag our waiter just to order food.
The food tasted fine but the prices were out of line. $11 for a CUP of clam chowder.
A scenic view and good sea food made for a great dinner with friends and reminiscing. Cioppino is always a favorite, as were the prawn cocktails and crab and avocado salad. Our server, Amber, was extremely attentive and helpful, without being obtrusive. She lifted the experience from good to wonderful.
Service was great and food was wonderful! It was a little louder than normal but we had a large group next to us celebrating a 25th birthday party. It really didn’t bother us as we kind of joined in with them s couple times. We had a very good time.
I thoroughly enjoyed everything about Scott’s! Visiting from San Diego, this restaurant exceeding my expectations! I will definitely return on my next visit!
We come here every especial occasion birthday, anniversary, mothers' day and Valentine's day, Jesus is a great server
Was excited to order the Manhattan clam chowder since hard to find at any restaurant but was not satisfied. Did not hv a lot of taste and way, way, way overpriced. $11 for such a small cup was outrageous.
Service was very good and our 1 entree and two small plates was just right.
The food was good, but not exceptional for the price. Special kudos to the waitress katherin, who knocked herself out for us and still connected with us on a personal level.
My party of 5 celebrated my husband's birthday at Scott's Oakland during Sunday brunch. Options are nice as far as food; our server Jasmine B. (had a funny Johnny Bravo conversation) was AWESOME!! She was very attentive and kept the mimosa's coming, our water glasses filled and the dirty dishes cleared away. I'd choose her again and go out of my way to sit in her section.
Thank you Jasmine.
*Love your server...tip in cash! (if you can help it)*
I've celebrated my 9th & 10 anniversary here & the experience was amazing. I'll see you for my 11th anniversary. 👍
We came to celebrate my spouse's completion of her PHD. It was a lovely day watching sailboats and eating a fabulous brunch. We had early reservations so it was quiet with the Jazz Band playing in the background. The food was amazing with lots of choices for every culinary choices from lox and bagels to omelets and sliced ham.
Was here with my wife for a special night out. I have been to Scott's several times previously and have found it to be a solid establishment, a little pricey for what you get but solid. This last time we received the worst service. We were placed in a corner and were consistently ignored throughout our dining experience. Plus they messed up my special request on my dish. Overall, the food was really good, but for these prices the service was unacceptable. Will think hard about ever going back again, not happy.
Hello my name is Ladonna and I came there on this date for my sister's birthday which was me and her first time there and we was very excited and remind you we always go to very expensive restaurants for example Ruth Chris Steakhouse Thang Long nice hotel restaurants where I am spending hundreds of dollars for the past couple of years on drinks rooms buying everything out the room staying for five nights and we was told on this day As my sister is turning 33 years old and me being 30 and I believe it was the restaurant manager that told us we were not able to get a second drink from her at this moment even though we are grown we are paying for that food we was having such a good time and we ordered another drink and she came over there and told me and my sister that we cannot have another drink at this moment until we finish our food I didn't know that was our mom even though we respect our elders but our mother is all the way in Kentucky and I didn't know we was children so we actually couldn't believe someone was coming up to us in a nice restaurant like this and telling us two grown women that they couldn't buy a second drink like I was at a bar or something and we didn't even stay to hear them even sing Happy Birthday to my sister because that turned us off so fast we got our food and five minutes after we received our food or main course we felt so disrespected but we
wanted to show that we are ladies honey and mothers and people children before anything and paying customers that spent $150 tab in there and still gave our waitress a good tip but that was really mean and ugly I have never been through nothing like that I can see if I was acting a fool and even if that was the case I would think that you guys would ask us to leave since you judged us and made your own decision making it seem like we was doing something that was so bad that you had to come and tell us that we can't have a second drink but we wasn't doing nothing but eating our food.
We thought the food was overpriced for the quality offered. We needed to use the womens restroom upon our departure and it was in such disarray. No toilet tissue or hand towels were available. We made our complaint to the Matrade and her response to us was "I'm not surprised". Overall we were disappointed with our experience.
What a fantastic view of the bay! The service was also excellent and the food is delicious. We had the crispy crab cakes for an appetizer. For dessert, we shared the New York cheesecake. They drizzled chocolate on the bottom of the plate which was absolutely delicious! I would recommend this place for a special occasion or just to have a relaxing, delicious dinner.
We had a good night, atmosphere was very loud, service was attentive but not intrusive, right on the water at Jack London Square.
Delicious and Excellent as always! Look for underground parking, in place of expensive outside parking lot.
Food was good and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the waterfront view. The quiet atmosphere allowed us to have a good conversation.
Great water view. Tasty salad which turned out to be the best part of the meal. Terrible fish and chips and so so ravioli. Certainly not worth the hefty price tag.
The overall experience was very good, the delay in receiving our check was the only short fall but for future visits we will notify our server of time limits.
It’s always a great experience at Scotts’s. The view is awesome, service great, and the Sunday brunch is the best around. It’s always a treat!
A disappointment. Bland, overpriced food. With better options on the waterfront in Jack London Square I won't return.
Quiet and professional
A disappointment! After noting in the Open Table reservation that it was a significant anniversary with a request for a window table, when we arrived that was not acknowledged by the restaurant. After waiting 15 minutes in the bar for a window table, it was apparent that the hostess had forgotten us or didn’t know where we were, so we went back to the front to check in again. After that, we were seated at a good table with a view. The food was fine, but the service continued to be slow, waited 20 minutes for our salad, and another 15 for dessert. While the food was decent, between the wait for the table and various courses, and the fact that they didn’t let us put our drinks on the main tab, the overall experience certainly wasn’t worth the money. It feels like Scott’s is coasting on its location and longevity, and not providing the appropriate attention to service or detail that you’d expect from its price point and attitude (not to mention the level of competition now available in Oakland).
Had the lobster ravioli, it was good, wife had mahi-mahi, she liked it too. We got seated by the window which was a real treat.
The service was great.
I had a great experience at Scott’s. I celebrated my 25th Birthday.
The service was excellent
Food was tasty
Wine was amazing
View was beautiful
Ernesto I believe was our servers name he was very knowledgeable
Thank you again
I definitely will be back
Your White table cloths are terrible. They shed little white balls all over your clothes. Had to spend hours cleaning off our clothes. After we complained to the waiter She said' oh do you want our non white table clothes that don't shed. Really
Filet overdone and not tasty. Lobster was great. Green beans not cooked all the way.
Service was Sup par. Other dishes were good. They serve catfish for fish and chips FYI instead of cod or red snapper. Not a pleaser.
Wine selection was garbage. I’m a huge Cab drinker and the premier cab was not good.
Overall the venue got a 3/5 stars. Nothing fancy about it. Bums in the bathroom making a mess and taking a shower.
It looks fancy and great but our experience was equivalent to a Denny’s dinner.
Scott's has long been our "go to" place for fresh, well prepared seafoood. We have lots of favorites but on this visit I had the rare ahi tuna and my friend had the cioppino. We both licked our plates. My friend was visiting from an inland state and she really appreciated being able to look out at the water and the boats. The food isn't fancy, unusual or unexpected but it is good and consistent and that's nothing to sneeze at.
This was a birthday occasion and wait staff was very kind and attentive. The meal was fine but a little slow. Seating was cozy near the window and the nearby piano music was perfect.
Calamari appetizer..... the best..... doesn't taste like a mass produced deep-fried kids item.
It tasted like each piece was hand made and carefully hand cooked....it was that good!
I'm 65, with just an average amount of restaurant experience, and usually am dissapointed with either the 6 oz filet or the 6 oz lobster tail. Was not dissapointed with either. I asked for medium rare and that's what I got and it was tender and tasty. The tail was not over cooked which is what usually disappoints me and it wasn't under cooked; it was amazing, it was substantial probably pushing the upper boundary of 6 oz. I wasn't left feeling 'wish it was bigger'.
The chocolate cake was too saturated in strawberry jelly like liquid; way too saturated. They should have reduced it (made it thicker) and poured it around the outsides after the cake was
placed. I asked for coffee but did not get it.
We spent three hours there celebrating daughter's birthday with seven of her friends. The lighting was perfect, down low and they brought a dessert lit with a candle and toof a few pics
of their own and fashioned it into a birthday card which was very nice. They need a better camera; I just got a beautiful camera for my daughter's birthday along with a stellar classic lens
that took draw dropping photos before the dinner, and when I seen the orange-ish pics I thought what I thought.
I "pre-vailed" at my attempt to have everyone starved so they could appreciate Scott's diverse menu and enjoy an appetizer, a main course and a rich dessert and the total for nine was nine hundred; just right for nine hungry, thirsty people included a bottle of wine a mixed drink, a half dozen virgin drinks.
It was a rich experience and would do it again.
Very pleasant meal - service- view!!!
