Quite often in the Bay Area you pay way over the odds for food and service that's just not good enough. This was downright embarrassing. $25 for a prawn salad with... 3 prawns... and not much more of anything else? It came on an appetiser sized plate. It was a cold day in January and we just wanted something hot... but not a fancy and overly-rich $40 entree.
They didn't seem to know or care much about my companion's celiac condition; initially they indicated they had GF bread, then it turned out they didn't, but they didn't have the courtesy to come explain and apologise; we had to ask where the promised bread was.
They managed something almost no other place ever has, which was to make me want to leave even before we'd ordered. And had it not been for my companion's wishes not to cause a fuss, I would have done. You can do better anywhere - including at home.
Great place to go for a birthday and feel pampered while you eat great sea food!
Enjoyed the Sunday jazz brunch. Food was excellent and the view of the marina very nice. Bottomless mimosa too.
I went with a group for the Jazz Brunch on Sunday. The food and service were exceptional. The music was good and the venue is amazing. It is a little pricey but there is ample food, the mimosas are endless and everything was delicious.
The food was amazing except the waitress put the raspberry sauce on our chocolate cake which ruined it. I’m not sure why she didn’t put it in a small covered container. So we had two desserts ruined. I wasn’t happy about wasting my money!!!
They bought me a birthday dish of ice cream but it wasn’t my birthday
No special occasion. We just like going there. It was noisier then usual. We are looking forward to our next time.
The food was way overpriced and not very good. My salad was drenched in dressing which made it wilted.
My girlfriend and I went to Scott’s Seafood for the Oakland Restaurant Week, we were extremely happy to have been served so well in a charming environment.
The service was a little slow, but it was a Saturday night in prime time.
The wine list is limited but they have some good choices. I would suggest they add some 'mid-priced' options.
We both had seafood and it was excellent... the vegetables also we top grade.
The view day or evening is very nice.
Ahi tuna had a bad smell, fish and chips burnt to a crisp..uneatable, seafood pasta fair. Server was great. Started coming here decades ago...lovely setting is very pretty but food
is a huge disappointment... to boot with high prices!
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. I will be back!
Delicious. I enjoyed Calamari steak with the Manhattan Clam Chowder starter. My dining companion had a delicious crab salad. It was plated so beautiful. They validated parking and gave two $15 credit certificates for next time. I will definitely be returning.
Calamari was greasy with a squishy outer perhaps undercooked batter or coating of some type. Beautiful spot great waiter and rest of dinner were great but I got sick a few hours later.
Celebrate new job. Enjoyable and did not feel rushed. Nice music from piano playing in the background was soothing and lend itself to the ambiance.
Loved the Sunday brunch!
Incredible brunch layout. Lots of great food choices and attentive service.
I am a regular. I go back because I REALLY like Scott's. I have eaten at this Scott's (Jack London Square, Oakland) maybe 5 times in the past year and I have never been disappointed with the food. This time I had to call back the waiter to take our orders or I would have graded service at 5. (I used to be a very good bus boy, so I pay attention still...).
Birthday dinner for 2...we both thought the night was magical!!! It started with great, service, people, and food!! Scotts rocked!!
Piano was way too loud. Made table conversation difficult.
Food and service were good. I was disappointed however to learn that this particular Scott’s does not accept gift cards from the RUI family of restaurants. Skates is about the only one left in the Bay Area that accepts the cards.
Scott's is our go to place to enjoy quality fine seafood with great service, ambiance and view. I highly recommend trying it out, if you haven't already. Don't be surprised if it becomes one of your favorite restaurants as it's become ours over the last couple of years.
Scott’s is a lovely waterfront restaurant with delicious food and outstanding service. I take a friend there every year for her birthday celebration, and she is given a lovely red rose by Scott’s.
Best New Years Eve dinner. Atmosphere fantastic. Enjoyed our night there. Will be back.
New Year’s Eve dinner. Food was okay. Could use some more flavor. The view is beautiful tho and the
Everyone in our party was disappointed due to the fact our food was really cold. We told our waiter that we were going to a 10:00 show and we wanted to have our food within an hour we did they it and when we did it was super cold like it was just sitting! Really upset cause I’ve never experienced this from Scott’s.
Great prime rib special with dessert. Appetizer came after meal so we didn’t want it but they comped it. They do not have sangria on menu but they made me one and it was delicious. Got a great window table immediately. Love the calamari appetizer.
The best petrale in the Bay Area and the service, location and ambiance are great.
Another wonderful brunch. You all do an amazing job!
I chose Scott’s for a post-Christmas get-together with the family. Everyone just loved it! We were tucked into an alcove, which was perfect for our small group — we could converse and hear each other well. We went for the full-on Sunday brunch, which did not disappoint. It was great to have us all there and then have everyone do their thing and get their own food.
The buffet was very diverse — everyone found something to enjoy. The staff was seamless in making sure food was abundant, so I thought that really helped create a convivial atmosphere. Nothing worse than being around hungry bipeds angling to get something in short supply. There were a lot of other patrons, but there wasn’t that kind of tension you can often get at buffets where people are afraid of missing out.
We also enjoyed the jazz ensemble, too. Very classy! It felt like Christmas all over again.
Definitely would return!
It was busy and service slower than normal. Also, louder than normal. It was my birthday and didn’t receive the complimentary dessert.
Our server, Gilbert, was outstanding. Seafood was all excellent.
We sat at a window table and the view was beautiful. The food and service was excellent.
12-24-19 Celebrated the memory of my Dad’s birthday. Had reservations at 5:30 through open table, was seated promptly. Started with a glass of champagne and a glass of wine. Ian S. was our server. He was very attentive and checked back often to make sure we were happy and took excellent care of us. Shared a salad and I enjoyed the 2 lb lobster. My date had the lobster Thermidor. The food, presentation and service was great. Finished up with the sorbet and a cup of coffee. Although it was a busy night, we both felt as though we were the only ones in the restaurant. This place never disappoints, always a special place to come. Thank you Scott’s, and Staff!
Beautiful view, great atmosphere, good customer service.
Food was yummy and plentiful.
The spot is awesome!!! Food delicious and service amazing
It was my mother-in-law’s 80th birthday and she was made to feel incredibly special.
Nice brunch menu and the ambience was lovely . Staff seemed over busy so had to keep getting their attention for things.
I was not disappointed once again to satisfy my seafood fix especially for the crab 🦀 this glorious holiday season in which I also celebrate my birthday.
Scott’s did not fall short of my expectations with the over abundance of well prepared food from the breakfast Benedict’s ,
Meats, salads, fruit and cheese trays, to the desserts and bottomless mimosas!
Oysters on the half shell was brought out on demand, shrimp and mussels were delectable as was the Dungeness Crab (my Fave)
meaty and sweet as well as the salmon! Oh boy I cannot wait to return- hopefully by New Year’s!!
Best Brunch hands down!
This place is great!!! They celebrated our anniversary with us, took our picture and placed it on a Scott’s card. The best part is the rose that they have my wife.... great experience!!!
