We had a really lovely lunch today at Scott's. The clam chowders were hot and delicious. I had a Bay Shrimp Louie that was cold and crisp with lots of yummy shrimp. My friend had the crab and avocado salad that is prepared as a stack. White wines were perfectly chilled. Service was outstanding. The views and weather were perfect.

We use to have a boat at Jack London Square and ate at Scott's at least once a month! We sold our
boat and now live in San Francisco so it has been at least six years since we have eaten at Scott's!
We had our children and grandchildren with us for lunch yesterday and we all agreed that both the
service and food were great! It was like coming home for a visit and we all enjoyed being there and
decided we won't wait so long to come back!

I had not been to Scotts for dinner in quite a few years, but both my husband and myself were pleasantly surprised to find the ambiance was wonderful for Valentine's day. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. The place was full of patrons, but as soon as we were seated both bread and water were delivered to our table. My husband had the chippino and said that it was delicious, I had swordfish and it was wonderful! We will be returning for dinner again soon!

They failed to honor our reservation so we left. They had deliberately overbooked because it was Valentines day

Well, talk about a Valentine’s Day fiasco! My husband and I received a gift certificate to Scott’s as a wedding gift last September. We were so excited to use it for Valentine’s Day! I made reservations six weeks in advance and booked a waterside room at the Waterfront Hotel (great place to stay, btw). Reservations were for 7. We walked in at about 6:20 and waited about 10 minutes in a line while the hostess attended to those in front of us. No problem, cause it was a busy night. There was a jazz piano guy playing, the place looked amazing, and we were ready for a fun night! The hostess looked up our reservation and checked us in. I told her we would be in the bar til our table was ready. She curtly said “I highly suggest you get in this line to be seated. “ 😕. Ok, so another 10 minutes and they take us way around to a back dinning area and seat us in the middle of the roomThere were open tables by the window and I asked if we could sit in one of those, but was told no, those are for people with reservations. 🤨. Ok, another 10 minutes, the waiter asks for our drink order. My husband orders a Manhattan, and I a Strawberry Margarita on the rocks, no salt. Our drinks finally came, the Manhattan had two maraschino cherries and I got a lime margarita. The waiter was finally ready to take our order. Very expensive menu. NO SUBSTITUTIONS. i wanted regular mashed potatoes, not garlic mashed potatoes. 😒. Ok. I ordered a different dinner with regular mashed potatoes and a crab, avocado salad. My husband ordered his dinner and an order of oysters. The oyster came on a tray of ice that was 8 inches high and at least 8 inches by 12 inches wide with six oysters no bigger than a dime! Really! We actually laughed at how ridiculous it looked! 40 more minutes go by, I flag down our waiter and ask about our food. They gave it to someone else! We asked for the manager. He offered to comp our dinner, but we left after 2 hours, crappy drinks and no dinner. 😖

The food was incredibly delicious as usual. Our waiter (who's name I forgot) was so attentive but not bothering you. Our table was by the window which allowed up to have a view of the waterfront and San Francisco off in the distant. It was a beautiful day to be out and about. Dessert was to die for! Loved it all.

I have come here numerous times, one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Last night I ordered cioppino, one of several times I have had one of my favorite dishes. This time it was just right. I like some spice in cioppino and there were a couple of times when it was a little bland. Keep this version going!

Great ambiance and nice water view. Good food. My sole was a little over breaded to my tastes. Great clam chowder. Ahi was delicious, as was the calamari steak. The "outstanding" review was because the staff was great in helping us celebrate a special birthday. Took our friends picture as a souvenir for him to take. Would definitely recommend Scott's.

Sadly, our experience at Scott's Seafood was only fair. This past Saturday, my family celebrated a 75th birthday dinner and had requested a table near the windows in our reservation. We were seated in an empty upper level section near where the staff was setting up the brunch equipment (for the following day) and folding napkins. There were several tables which could have accommodated our party near the windows but they weren't 'available'. They sat empty for the length of our meal.
This restaurant seems to be stuck in the 1980's. Their menu really hasn't changed much over the past 30 years and the plating was similar to that at a banquet hall. They do know how to cook seafood but the side dishes (green beans, carrots, swiss chard) was either crunchy or completely hammered. The ahi tuna entree was under seasoned and desperately needed a little more sauce to give it flavor.
As for service, it was uneven and awkward. Our server knew about the birthday but brought the rest of the table's desserts well BEFORE the birthday girl's - bad timing for sure!
The restaurant has the potential to be a special place - especially given the location However, the Saturday night pianist (although very talented according to a professional musician in our party) played so loudly that we had to shout to be heard across our table - that totally ruined the atmosphere. Our server and the manager encouraged us to request a song to our liking but they never addressed the issue with the pianist. I left the restaurant with my ears ringing as if I had been front and center at a loud concert.
We have no desire to return to Scott's given their outdated menu, uneven pacing of the evening, and lack of concern for their customers.

It took over 25 minutes for my friend’s soda to be refilled. It felt like we were in a forgotten corner of the dining area.

I indicated that this was a birthday when I made the reservation. I also told one of our servers. No one acknowledged us or said a word. As we were leaving, the server brought a dessert with candles and a red rose to the table next to us for a woman who was celebrating her birthday. The host came over and took a picture of their group.

When I mentioned to the host that our birthday had been ignored, and pointed out that I had put it on the Open Table reservation and told one of the servers when we first sat down, she asked if they could do anything. We had our coats on and had already started walking out, so I don’t even know what they would have done. The host didn’t offer anything concrete, like a dessert raincheck.

What was most embarrassing is that my wife (whose birthday we were celebrating) said she’d seen them preparing a rose when we first arrived and thought it was for her.

What a let down. We don’t go often, so maybe Scott’s didn’t care, but have been going for decades. We won’t be back.

I reserved Scott’s for my birthday dinner , horrible experience using open table which i used through the restaurants website . My reservation was for 930 pm you can scroll she select all the way until 11:30 pm. I got to the restaurant and was unable to sit for my reservation because the restaurant closed at “10pm” why would they let me book a time that’s unavailable? And they confirmed it. Horrible experience

Quite often in the Bay Area you pay way over the odds for food and service that's just not good enough. This was downright embarrassing. $25 for a prawn salad with... 3 prawns... and not much more of anything else? It came on an appetiser sized plate. It was a cold day in January and we just wanted something hot... but not a fancy and overly-rich $40 entree.
They didn't seem to know or care much about my companion's celiac condition; initially they indicated they had GF bread, then it turned out they didn't, but they didn't have the courtesy to come explain and apologise; we had to ask where the promised bread was.
They managed something almost no other place ever has, which was to make me want to leave even before we'd ordered. And had it not been for my companion's wishes not to cause a fuss, I would have done. You can do better anywhere - including at home.
