Our waitress never brought my husband’s salad, I asked if there was dressing on my salad and she said she forgot it. I had tea and she removed it before I could finish it and she double charged us fir a glass of wine!
It was really good except the service was very inattentive. The food was terrific!
Visited during Oakland’s Restaurant Week; glad I did and kudos to Scott’s for participating and Oakland for supporting.
Love the elegant atmosphere, fantastic service and delicious food.
I had excellent service, the champagne was flowing and the food was delicious. I will return soon
Although the price [$70] is not listed anywhere, this is a good value. Bottomless champagne, mimosas, Grey Goose Bloody Marys and all sorts of wonderful Sunday brunch food, plus a nice view of Oakland harbor and estuary. There is prime rib, ham, 5 kinds of freshly cooked salmon, clam chowder, gumbo, cooked fresh shrimp in shell, king crab legs, green-lipped mussels, several kinds of smoked salmon, eggs benedict, crab cakes benedict, etc etc.
Took our overseas guests for dinner and absolutely loved it! Everything was perfect and the food was delicious. The 2 pounder lobster was a hit!
Our waitress Ms. Bravo was excellent with our large party. She was patient and answered all of the questions 6 teenagers will shoot at you at once and she treated my daughter like the Princess she is for her 17th birthday. The experience overall was great. Thank you.
We celebrated a birthday. The service was great and so was the food.
I will never go back. I ordered a steak Medium. It came out grey throughout and tasted like cardboard. I told the server, she took it away. 20+minutes later after everyone else at the table was done eating she brought a new steak, I cut into it and it was totally raw inside, oozing blood all over the plate. When I had to find the server to tell her and ask for the bill she didn’t apologize or say anything. I had to find the manager and tell him. I never complain but this was the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant. I’ve been going to Scott’s for 30+ years, but the place and the service is tired and it’s sad. Maybe they can get it together again but I will never go back.
Great food, ambiance & service. We were celebrating our friend’s birthday & they have nice surprise treats for the celebrant.
Food was good, but my Sea Bass was flounder at best. The Seafood Cioppino was excellent. They had my favorite wine, so all in all I'd recommend.
We moved from main dining (too noisy, terrible seat location ) to bar area, enjoyed wonderful piano music as we ate creamy seafood pasta.
Great food, service, and ambiance. Seafood was super fresh.
I brought my parents here for their anniversary and most recently, my nieces, boyfriends, and friends returning from military deployments and college. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and attentive on both occasions (no difference in service between older group and younger one; which I appreciate) . The view is beautiful and its location ideal for a show at the Fox Theatre and/or a Warrior's game at Oracle (not much longer). The food was great and the ambiance old school (think Frank Sinatra/Dean Martin........beautiful bar and piano playing. Fresh fish, fresh sourdough bread, and a steak to die for (cooked to perfection)! Easy access for the disabled (or elderly); worth the drive across the bay......even with traffic....and that says a lot! LOL = )
Great atmosphere, great service! Calamari appetizer was excellent.
Fish and Chips were not fresh, though. They seemed similar to frozen Fish and Chips from a grocery store. For $33 I would expect large, fluffy, UK type fresh F&C.
Great place for a nice special meal, the location is good for East Bay or even from SF with the ferry service. With valet or self parking very close by it makes it very convenient place to drive to.
I love the feel of this place and it has a bar area where you can relax before dinner or while waiting for guests. I definitely would return to try more dishes. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable.
Great food and great service
Went here for new year day brunch which was advertised, when we arrive for our 11:30 reservation we are told they were only serving lunch, bummer. Husband order the fish and chips and were quite shocked at the breaded small pieces of fish, they did not even have the correct breading normal to fish and chips and shoe string fries, it looked like a kids plate and not the 35 charged, so that was disappointing; my seafood sautée was good, could have used more crab but the flavor was good
I have eaten at Scott's in the past and was always very happy with my experience, however this time was different. The food arrived lukewarm, certainly not cold, but not hot either. I had to ask for silverware, and twice for additional bread for the table. It was new year's eve so that may have contributed to part of it, but the price you pay to dine there I expect better.
Amazing 😉 Service! Delicious food! Live pianist was amazing! Environment was beautiful. Very friendly waitress and server.
New Years Eve dinner, excellent server, she made the night. There were a couple of small problems with the food (ran out of one dish, undercooked another) but the server was amazing. I didn't catch her name, but she was a recent UCSC grad, in pre-med, so I doubt Scott's will keep her for long. She was great, we had a wonderful evening!
What I enjoyed about this restaurant is the ambiance. The restaurant is overlooking the water. It has an excellent flow floor plan so servers are not squeezing through and bumping patrons. We had the grilled Atlantic Salmon which was excellently grilled and tasty. But the meal was ultimately somewhat uninspired lacking depth. Similar to if I was at a wedding reception. An excellent cook on a delish fish but steamed carrots and mashed potatoes seemed like wearing sneakers with my prom dress. I would suggest a vegetable medley less basic and better use of seasoning. I don’t want to sound too hard on them. It was New Year’s eve and extremely busy and they managed to serve an excellent fish. I plan to return with friends:)
New Year’s Eve; the setting was warm and the live music was a plus. Food was good and service staff were attentive.
It was New Years Eve with a 7pm reservation. It was busy. Pork chop was a little over cooked, seafood pasta was brimming full of seafood however the sauce was a little thin. We had to ask another server for our wine 10 min. into our meal after appetizers.
Very nice restaurant for the dinner for NYE with my family. They were very busy so the wait staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. But we still had a great night and the food was good.
Great Food, Service and Ambiance! I would definitely recommend and return!
Had a Very enjoyable New Year's eve dinner.
Thank you. no
Once again, a perfect experience! We've come to expect no less from Scott's. Our waiter, Gilbert, made sure we were well taken care of.
Always a great venue, however, we went for New Years lunch and were presented with a dinner (ie expensive) menu. When ssked, they said thst was the only option for the day, And our favorite lobster roll was permanently off the menu.
Our confirmation Did Not mention this menu limitation in there notes for the day.
It was a great evening, the ambiance was perfect, George our server was superb, the food was scrumptious.
Dinner before entertainment started the night out perfectly.
Excellent table, views and dining. Service is Par Excellence! The dinner was flavorful and cooked to perfection.
I had reviewed the lunch menu prior,to making a reservation but had no idea the Sunday lunch was actually a price-fixed champagne brunch. Neither of us wanted the champagne drinks that were part of the price-fixed meal..we ordered wine. We did not come so hungry that we went to the food stations three or more times as many groups seemed to do. There was no complaints about the foods offered; The food was terrific. I,would, have, preferred a prime rib dinner: my friend a fish dinner. So our expectations were, different than we planned. Our bill was quite high because we had wine and not champagne. Enjoyed the trio playing and singing in the bar. I believe I would come for music and have drinks/ appetizer. The Sunday brunch is far too high in price unless you plan to return to thenfoodmtabes many times. If I come on Sundays, it would only be for music and drinks.
Only complaint would be excessive noise level of patrons next to us
Wanted to take my husband out for a nice treat on my company. We have been to Scott's for Sunday brunch and was looking for a nice seafood dinner. The food was good, not over the top, but seriously $19 for a salad!? Just ordered a vodka martini and did not request top shelf and it was $14!? It was good but seriously not worth $19 and $15 for a bowl of soup?! In any case, I am thinking we will not bother returning here anytime soon. The meals were ok, I'm not going to say that I loved it when I did not. It was ok, the prawns were a bit over-done and I did not at all care for the risotto nor the sauce. The dessert which was a berry tart was the best thing I ate besides the clam chowder.
Love this restaurant. Food is consistently excellent. Wait staff is helpful and professional. They know what they’re doing. Enrique provided great recommendations.
Barbara feels like a family friend.
Wonderful service. Tasty menu items. Pricey but good for special dining experience.
The food is delicious. That is what brings us coming back. I loved the crab avocado salad and the sea bass. It was a good size. The bill was $150 without alcohol which is pretty pricey. Also the parking is validated but it only gave us a one dollar discount. Finally on this night, the server could have been friendlier as they have been in the past.
The restaurant was nice and cozy. For a Friday evening at 6 there was not very many people. We sat in the rear near the window and could see the port and people walking by. We initially sat in a quieter part of the restaurant but it became a little noisy as a group and another couple was sat by us. They began bumping our chairs to move around the table.
We had recieved a gift certificate for our kids to have a nice evening out, but to our surprise the gift certificate was for the Scotts in the Sacramento area. I’m sure the kids were not aware as we live near the Walnut Creek scotts and a 40 minute drive to get to the one in Oakland. We were also going to a concert near by so it was a dinner and a show night. We paid the bill and left a nice tip, but When my husband came out of the restroom the waiter was standing there stating they do not take the gift cards. Well needless to say we were surprised. 2 fish dinners, an appitizer and 3 melon ball size scoops of sorbet was a 100 dollars which was the amount of the gift card. We has splurged a little to use the card.I had never heard of a high end restaurant not receiving a gift card from it same place different location.
