Scott's Restaurant - Walnut Creek Ratings and Reviews
This was our 3rd year of a Christmas season dinner here. We were looking forward to the local high school carolers again this year. We did see them walk through the restaurant and go out another door and they did not return. Our server really didn’t have any information as to if they would return and didn’t bother to find out. It would have been nice if she did. Unfortunately this year did not meet expectations for our Christmas celebration here.
My apologies to Sebastian and our server.
My reservations were for six. Management reserved a round table providing adequate room for all. Unfortunately, a member of our party arrived early and had our server move us to a table for four. When we arrived and saw what was done we didn’t want to embarrass any one and said it as ok; after all the guilty couple already were enjoying their cocktails. To move again would have required resetting the table. Consequently we were quite crowded and it was difficult for the server to provide the excellent service we have experienced from him in the past. We learned a valuable lesson and will not allow such a change to happen again.
As always, Scott’s is a great restaurant and we are regular customers.
Once again, our apologies to all for the behavior of one in our party.
Nice casual but can be dressy place. Lots of wood with warm ambiance. Server was excellent and paced the dinner wonderfully. Food is fresh (Starters were Clam Chowder - Yummy, and Bay Shrimp Salad -Fantastic, Entrees were Ahi Tuna - Very Good and Lobster Thermidore - just okay). Specialty cocktails to Start - both were good and a Chenin Blanc - Voignier blend with entrees - very good crisp wine. Plan to spend a few dollars. Over all very pleasant experience. The valet parking is always a huge plus.
We tried the Sunday Brunch yesterday for the first time. It provided such a variety of food options. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. We will have to return to try the food we could not taste because we were too full! The staff were very professional and attentive!
I bring my parents here every year for Thanksgiving and Easter. We all love ht Easter brunch. They are both in in their eighties and enjoy the classic, but not kitschy atmosphere. We all enjoy the food and service. Just beware the Sunday Jazz music can get a bit loud.
We ate at Scott’s on Thanksgiving Eve. Packed house! Service was slow: it took over 2 hours. Food was very expensive but unimpressive. Sauted seafood turned out to be inundated w butter which covered up the lack of freshness. Surf and turf was most expensive item and yet the lobster was tiny and meat also small. Salads and deserts were good. They were out of first wine we ordered. All in all pretty bad for the money.
I’ve been to Scott’s several times, but this was my husband’s first time. We were impressed with the service, food and ambiance!
This is a great place for birthday celebrations, because they take a group picture and you are given a surprise rose!
I love sitting on the patio I. The summer.
I enjoyed a nice dinner with my wife and son at Scott's this past week. I had the Halibut, my wife had the Salmon, and my son had the New York Steak. The meals were presented nicely and the food tasted great. I also had the Milian Clams as an appetizer. We brought our own wine, I believe the corkage was $15. We had a piece of the Key Lime Pie for desert, I thought the size of the slice of pie was pretty small for the cost, besides that the dinner entrees where great! Will definitely be back.
Our server was outstanding. Two of us have complicated food restrictions. She went out of her way to make sure that the food was safe for us, but also ensured that the adjustments still resulted in very tasty and satisfying meals. She also helped us resolve parking questions and let us know that we were entitled to a discount because we were going next to a ballet at the Lesher Center. The experience could not have been better!
Second time. Definitely not as good as the first time. Food was mediocre. Crab cake appetizer was good. Swordfish was tough. Sole was tasteless. Some of the mashed potatoes were luke warm. Wine was just okay for the price. Deserts were very disappointing. Ambiance is still great. Service good-to-very good (also not as good as first time).
Pricey. After enjoying first visit, thought it made sense on a special occasion. After most recent experience, I would not be willing to pay what they are asking on any occasion.
Great looking venue! We walked in and felt really good about this choice. I will preface this review by saying that Scott’s is certainly better than our experience would indicate. Most of the food was adequate but not mind blowing by any stretch. However, one in our group ordered the Lobster Thermador and given the cost expectations were very high but it came out so over cooked that it was not edible. We summoned our waiter and he very rudely and unapologetically removed the dish and walked away. It was a full 10 minutes before he came back and asked if my friend wanted anything else. Very bush league and unprofessional especially for a higher end server. I will also say that our group was really trying to be kind and patient but to no avail. We did not get a visit from the Manager either. Service is what makes or breaks most experiences and this one was terrible. Perhaps our server was simply having a bad night and the cooks in the back made a mistake because a CHEF would have never let something that poorly executed ever leave his kitchen.
I stood around for 5 minutes waiting for someone to seat me. The hostess was unsmiling & seemed a little put out. The waiter, on the other hand, was very pleasant, efficient, polite. Also, high marks for the valet attendant who helped my elderly dining companion into her car.
My boyfriend and I came here for the sunday jazz brunch for our anniversary and we're going to make it an annual tradition. The food was outstanding, especially the unlimited mimosas, and the service was amazing. Our glasses were never empty and even though the server didn't have to serve us our food, she checked on us plenty of times. The jazz band was great as well.
My husband and I go to Scotts for dinner. I was going to be meeting a friend for brunch and we decided on Scott's. Excellent choice! Great brunch buffet. I normally do not like buffets but the food was so delicious I'm looking forward to another Sunday brunch . Great job Scotts!
