Scott's Restaurant - Walnut Creek
Book your next event with us
Been there twice for business lunches in the past couple of months. It's never been really busy or full each time, probably because weekday lunch is not their busy time. But I have to say, both times were excellent. Food, service, atmosphere, everything. And they have free, indoor valet parking adjacent to one of the entry doors. Super convenient. I'll be back!
41 year wedding anniversary
We ordered king crab legs and they were warm to cool and tasted old. Seems like they were cooked for the cold appetizer and heated for the meal.
The piano was a bit loud so it was hard to talk. Not very relaxing.
The restaurant had a nice ambiance and staff were very friendly.
They do such a great job at helping to celebrate a special occasion. A photo of us and a long stem red rose was a very nice touch for our anniversary dinner. Food-wise, my husband and I ate every bite on our plates. They were also very accommodating because my husband always likes to get the exact same dinner that we served at Scott's on our wedding day 24 years ago. It is only a banquet item and not on the menu, but every year they do it for us. (I only rated the food a 4 out of 5 because my halibut cheeks were not super good - only good - but the sides were excellent.
We have eaten at Scott’s restaurant before. This time we ordered a dozen Kumamoto oysters. They were off and had to be sent back. The seafood sauté was ok. Drinks were good. Wait person was embarrassed about the oysters. Not many people dining on a Sunday evening. Probably be a while before we go back.
My husband’s favorite restaurant. Food never disappoints, and service is always outstanding!
We booked a reservation for my birthday dinner last night. My grandparents used to take me there yearly and I haven’t been back since they passed away. This was supposed to be a nostalgic, romantic birthday dinner with my boyfriend. Instead, not a single server acknowledged us for over an hour. Sat down at 820pm, and my boyfriend had to go to the actual bar about 30 minutes later to order us drinks since no one even looked our way. After a couple behind us sat down and were served immediately, with still no acknowledgement to our table, we got up and left. This was approximately 925pm. I wanted to speak to a hostess regarding our experience, but no one came to the podium in the ten minutes I waited... with that being said, I will never go back, nor will I recommend this place to anyone else.
It was very brautiful and relaxing in the outdoor patio area. I would never sit inside...way too loud...jazz bands are not relaxing!
Our server was an exceptional young woman, very kind and attentive.
As always, dining at Scott’s does not disappoint. Our crab and avocado salad was delicious. Accommodations were made for diet concerns. Drinks were served promptly and gave us time to enjoy our cocktails before the food was served.
Ambience is elegant and welcoming with a noise level that allows for conversation.
The service was very slow in terms of waiter taking our order and time Irv took to get our meal. Otherwise everything else was great!
Have always loved this restaurant. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and they presented him with a lovely dessert. Service was excellent and the food was delicious and well proportioned--also great martinis
The waiter Chuck has attitude. He seemed annoyed the entire evening “burned out”?!
The Cesar salad was lousy. Lettuce brown wilted not fresh.
The fish was delicious.
Sadly the table next to us had a fussy toddler that was running around...not the evening we were looking for. Perhaps placing families with very young children in a kid zone with others can be considered
Band was much too loud. We had to change tables.
Food and service exceptional.
Loved the 3 piece band .
Truly added to the evening.
Will definitely be back!
Lovely lunch on the patio next to the waterfall. Only negative was that Scott’s notified Open Table that we didn’t honor our reservation.
Started off good, oysters where very good, my cocktail was very good. My sister was unimpressed with her cocktail, my Dad had coffee. Pear salad was very good, a bit expensive at the listed price. Me and my sister had the blackened swordfish which was not served hot. The vegetables where under cooked. I’ve had better swordfish for a lot less. My Dad had the seared ahi tuna which came out lukewarm, he didn’t like his vegetables either. My Dad had to ask the bus boy for a coffee refill. Once we were done eating it took a very long time to bring the check and get us out of there. We will probably go back someday because we have had many very good meals there. Maybe they were just under staffed this evening.
Food, except for entree was good. The description of Halibut cheeks sounded great. Our server made them sound fabulous so 3 of the 4 of us changed our order. VERY disappointing. It said nothing about being fried in an egg batter, but it was, and the fish was really dry/over cooked. We were all very disappointed...and it wasn’t cheap.
Scotts walnut creek is one of my favorite restaurants. Been a regular customer since they opened. Special occasions, sunday brunches client dinners/lunches. It has one of the most beautiful settings/ambiances of any east bay reataurant. Food is always excellent. Most of your wait staff are good, some need training in fine dining. I had invited a friend for a birthday dinner and with champagne, crab legs, dessert etc it came to around $300. Not a cheap evening. The young lady who waited on us needs training (been there 2 months, she said) in both attentiveness and decorum (Scotts is not Denny's). Lobster and crablegs need tools (without having to ask) and a fingerbowl when customers have to handle shells. I have had lobster at Scotts several times and must always ask for a fingerbowl. This time we got warm, wet napkins after I asked and this worked fine. But, I should not have had to ask for this. Her demeanor was also much too casual......"you guys, guys" , much to casual, and I am not a "stuffy" person. I fault Scotts' selection of personnel and training. She is an attractive, well groomed young lady, but how about a little sophistication and class Scotts! I do not usually write reviews, but because I love Scotts Restaurant in WC I have taken the time to do so.
We loved our food, service and ambiance. Can’t wait to go back!
As always, Scott and his team were great. I always feel special when I go there. And this time it was my birthday and they made me feel like a queen! Thank you Scott's staff!!
The restaurant was excellent all the staff was excellent,
Seth the Manager was very kind and conducted himself in a very professional excellent manner.
My husband's dinner was good. Mine was a little bland, especially considering it is an expensive restaurant. Dessert was good. Atmosphere pretty and service excellent. Thank you for the rose!
Wait staff was excellent. I ordered a specific wine and he suggested we sample at first. I did sample it and didn't choose it so his advice was very good.
The interior was lovely and my wife loved the outside dining area with the ajasent garden. She wants to eat outside next time. The food and very good and our server Branden was excellent and attentive to us. This again
Our experience over the past 30+ years has always been very good to excellent which makes it one of our most favorite places to dine for business or pleasure.
Wonderful restaurant for a special occasion dinner. Gracious, welcoming staff and terrific food. Our favorite restaurant in Walnut Creek and it has never been disappointing. Some of the best seafood in the area and their bread is terrific. Great deserts too!
Scott's is one of our favorite restaurants. Excellent food and service. Piano player in the background is a nice touch. We'll be back
Great restaurant. A bit overpriced but for everything it was excellent. I checked that I would not recommend the restaurant but not because of what was served and the service but because I do not recommend anything to anybody.
Have eaten there many times over the past years, and always Great food, service and ambiance! It's a keeper!
It was my wife and I. Anniversary. Usually the restaurant would offer to take a picture commorating the occasion. But there was no offer. However the food was great. And we had an beautiful time.
It was Sunday brunch with live music. Very lovely
We’ve been to Scott’s several times and it’s kinda hit and miss. We stopped going for a while after the food wasn’t great once but returned. This time we sat outside so the noise level was low. We were seated quickly and the ambiance was nice. My low rating comes from the ridiculous cost. Our waitress suggested an appetizer w popcorn shrimp, calamari and crab cakes. Of course she did...it was $58! For an appetizer. We ended up just ordering salads after but the pear and walnut salads were $19? Come on...it’s mostly lettuce. I realize you pay for the service, etc but definitely not worth that. With the corkage for 2 bottles of wine it was almost $300!!!! Including tip. Won’t be going back anytime soon
Scott's used to be one of our favorite restaurants but it has become an overpriced mediocre restaurant. I hate it when we boost to friends or family about a restaurant, then take those friends there and it turns out to be disappointing. The server was outstanding but the food was not. There are too many excellent restaurants in the area, much less expensive with much better food.
I was meeting an old friend whom I had not seen in over 40 years. We had a lot to talk about and catch up on. We spent a little over 3 hours at our table and Scotts could not have been more accommodating. Never rushed us and regularly checked to see if there was anything we needed, and the food, petrale sole and crab salad, was excellent as usual.
We ate lunch there and it was very good. My complaint is that most of the meals on the menu are larger meals more like you would eat for dinner. There was not much selection for smaller meals more typical for lunch. We had a crab salad sandwich and a shrimp salad sandwich, both of which were very good but so large they had to be eaten with a fork and knife -- you couldn't pick them up without having the filling coming out and getting messy.
We have visited this location on several occasions. I made reservations for 2 for Father's Day dinner for 7:30 PM evidently so did everyone else. We arrived between 7:15 - 7:20. We were not seated until around 7:50 with several people arriving after us being seated before us. With apologies of I'm sorry quite a few times. Very disappointing.......
Went there for Father’s Day and were 15 minutes early for our reservation. The front desk person made us wait past the 15 minutes. Meanwhile she helped several people as they arrived. She was very rude and unprofessional.
She has no business working in customer facing service jobs
The food was also so-so! The appetizer was awful but the rest of the food was decent.
The service is usually hit and miss but on this occasion the waiter was friendly and helpful.
We are going to avoid this place from here on.
Scotts Seafood in Walnut Creek is a huge restaurant but with the personal service associated with a small intimate restaurant. The dining areas are well decorated with very comfortable seating. There is also an outdoor seating area. Our server, Taylor, was very friendly, cordial, and helpful, as well as being very efficient. The menu is huge including Dungeness crab, Petrale Sole, Oysters Rockefeller, Prime Rib, steaks, etc. We (3) enjoyed all of our entrees including the roasted macadamia nut crusted halibut. There is a nice cocktail and wine menu to accompany your meal. Complementary valet parking is provided in a garage attached to the restaurant. This is fine dining at its best without exorbitant pricing.
The food was excellent including the special appetizers and we had a perfect table that faced the patio and waterfall. It was sort of quiet and off of the beaten path. We will be going back really soon. The perfect place for a special occasion.
have been going the Walnut Creek Scott's Seafood for more than 29 years. Always loved the ambiance and the food. This time everything was wonderful except the crab cake underneath the New Orlean Style Egg Benedict. The crab cake was very flour doughy and tasteless; they need to change that recipe.
