Scotland Run Golf Club's Highlander Pub & Grill Ratings and Reviews
Very Disappointed in food at Scotland Run Country Club Restaurant -buffet.
Reservation for brunch was for 10;30 AM, food was COLD, not luke warm but COLD, Bacon was hard and stiff, eggs were fluffy but cold, potatoes and sausage were cold. only thing hot was their coffee. Dessert cakes were good but pastry puffs and cannoli's were refrigerated, soggy and no taste. Must have made them two nights before.
I would have gone elsewhere to a better restaurant in Deptford if I knew how bad the food was going to be, I was embarrassed to have brought family here. I attended a baby shower in August and the food was so so- figured their breakfast would be better, I hoped.
I wouldn't recommend the Scotland Run Country Club for food, meals or buffets. What a disappointment . Buffett was from 10:00 AM-3:00 Pm you think they would have had hot food for such an early time (10:30 AM reservation) frame considering we were 1 of only 4 families in the restaurant. Hope their bar makes better drinks to keep the place running. Sad very sad. Service was good, plates removed quickly, coffee refilled when we flagged down staff.
Check Scotland Run off the list of places to eat. Should have gone to Adelphia's. I give restaurants more than one chance, with having two meals that were not good and staff not removing the cold items and replacing with hot is not good service. Checked this place off the list and I told family and friends about my disappointment.
We had a wonderful dinner with friends and everything was great. The bar was fun and the music was enjoyable. Everyone was friendly.
Our dinner experience was also enjoyable. Our server went out of his way to accommodate us and all of our entrees were prepared perfectly.
Great place and we will return.
I chose this restaurant for a Holiday staff party as it was centrally located.
The service in the restaurant was horrible. It was not attentive and we had to ask other servers to bring additional needed items.
The food was cold! Not much else to say on that subject. It probably sat in the kitchen waiting for someone to finally serve it.
We did visit the bar area prior to dinner as this was a holiday dinner. The bartender was overworked as well and could not be attentive.
Find somewhere else to have your celebration. The restaurant was not even crowded and the service was terrible!
Food very good. We had a table of 12 people. Service should have been more attentive. Very noisy. Could not hear conversations. Had music on, people having holiday dinners on a Dec Friday night. So it's something to expect. If you have a larger group they do have a separate room for a cover of $50, and with a limited menu. I would suggest that for next time.
This was our first visit to Scotland Run, but it will not be our last. My wife and I each had a great meal and thoroughly enjoyed the "Lounge Singer" in the bar area. The only negative is that meal should have included a salad for the price. There was a very extensive drink menu, and the prices for the drinks were reasonable.
Great place for happy hour is great goof snd a lot toofger on the menue. So kind to take reservations for happy hour in the bar area or outside appreciate the service as we work and come home from work late some days. Always had great service and handmade cocktails
Birthday brunch, little bit of a wait to get seated & not very busy when we got there, & service a little slow, but all were friendly. Their brunch is very good & all inclusive with full brunch menu, beverage & juice. Also have made to order eggs Benedict & pancakes. Large pastry table. Worth going.
We went for brunch and had requested the dining room. We were seated in the bar area. Not at all the same atmosphere as the dining room, especially when your with your child.
Food was mediocre, didn't feel like it was refreshed and looked like it had been sitting for awhile. The waffle/omelette/carving area was nice but long lines.
It appeared to be several large parties that were using the brunch as their food service. While sitting in the bar area one large group there for a baby shower had to walk through the bar to arrive at their event. It was very loud and distracting while carrying a conversation.
We ordered an apple juice , they brought orange juice (no big deal) , ordered a Bloody Mary and was okay. Almost nearing the end there was a dead fly in the drink. So disgusting that I couldn't eat anymore and will never return. They just took the drink away and off my bill. It ruined the entire brunch.
We love a good brunch but won't be back here. Felt like an catered affair not a brunch for individuals. Not fresh or anything special. Very disappointed.
We were a group of 13 women and as far as I know everyone enjoyed their meal.
I had the Chicken Pot Pie which was very good, but way too much to eat in one seating. Gladly, I took what I didn't eat home and had another meal out of it.
Scotland Run never disappoints when it comes to the food.
Once again - the view was the best part of the meal. Went for brunch. Taken by the hostess to a DIRTY TABLE. I mean slop & food on the table. When we asked a waiter for help he told us to go tell the hostess. Another waiter came & washed it off. Brunch is self serve so only drinks & coffee is delivered to the table. My coffee cup arrived with the ENTIRE rim covered in lipstick. Sent that back. Poured milk into new coffee and it curdled. Waiter said it couldn't curdle because he just brought it out. Then he smelt it and knew.
The real problem here is that there is not an adult or manager in sight. They have left the kids to run the place & figure things out by themselves. That's it for us. Never again.
Sunday brunch was disappointing. Only thing hot was the made to order omelet. Expected more variety in sweets, not run if the mill donuts. Live sitting outside. Service wasn't great. Much better experience at dinner and happy hour. Will return for these but never go back for brunch
The food is over-priced and mediocre at best. The service is the worst in south Jersey but that is the fault of management - they are always under staffed and most of these kids have no idea what they are doing. Example - Never had a server who knew how to use a cork screw. It's actually comical. When they do get the wine bottle open they have no idea how much to pour into a glass. The last two times we were there the servers FILLED MY GLASS TO THE RIM as if I was drinking soda. Tables and chairs are actually dirty, as if they have never been cleaned between customers. We are usually seated next to a golfing party of 20 men who have been drinking for 2 hours and must scream at each other...this place is a HOT MESS, but ...
THE VIEW FROM THE PATIO IS SPETACULAR! That's the only reason to go there.
