Service was horrible. We waited 20 minutes after sitting before the waitress came over. Not friendly at all. Took over 2 hours for sandwiches, wings and a house salad. Which was mediocre. Very disappointed. Mgr says short on staff. The atmosphere is great but they definitely need to step it up. The waitress looked like she was mad at the world.
Good food, lots of choices and good atmosphere.
I recommend it.
Mussels have been the best
Calamari has been very good
Fathers day the calamari was not chrisp and was chewy. Also was greasy. Will continue to use as our go to resturant
Such a great atmosphere. Too bad the waitress was horrible and the food mediocre.
Great place for food and entertainment
First time visitors delightfully surprised. We sat inside but outside had a band and throng of happy diners. Inside the noise level was lower and the food surprised us. Best ribs I have ever had and many interesting options.
Great ambiance and excellent customer service but food not so great! Had fried calamari but more fried batter than actual calamari . All other food lacked taste. We hoped it was different but we would give it a 2nd chance just because staff was so nice.
The place was fairly empty but it took 20 minutes before our waitress got to our table. I don't think there was a trained bartender on staff the drinks were elementary.
Had a great time! Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. Great ambiance and feel. Loved the live music too
Overall good visit as in our past three visits
Menu is varied and good. Change up tote cod (coconut vs almond crust) a disappointment as we really loved the almond not saying coconut not good but like coming for an old freind and finding they are not in today
Noise from the band up stairs about 10% too much for easy conversation downstairs
Wait staff very nice . mixed one order but recovered very fast
Panko chicken and burgers very good
First time getting mixed drink and might need to give the bar tender a hand with their old fashioneds
Very solid and look forward to returning and what looks like a very fun outside section coming soon
Great food, awesome staff. Happy hour is one of the best around.
Too too noisy. Loud incessant rock band playing at high decibel. At 7pm. Inappropriate and really annoying.
Best restaurant we’ve been to in a long time ... absolutely awesome !!!
Great Food! Beautiful place!
Great food. Great service. Great time! Looking forward to my next visit!
We visited mystic for the weekend and found this great place. We sat outside and listened to an assessment band! Food was good but the atmosphere was great.
Great food , beautiful atmosphere and good service. It’s a must go to place 👌🏻
Consistently good food and a varied beer selection. Staff is friendly and weekend music is a bonus
Way too loud. Please tone down your music! I could not hear my conversation.
Great place to eat! Wonderful service, felt comfortable and safe. Menu was perfect, had great choices for all different likes at our table. Waitress attentive and helpful.
This was our first visit as we live out of state and I chose this restaurant for my daughters birthday dinner. The service was fantastic and the food was awesome. Even know they didnt have the Boursin chicken. The cod which was my second choices had incredible flavor and I receomend this to anyone. My family had nothing but compliments of there meals. If I am ever in that are again. I will planned going there.
Only bad thing was that it was windy outside and a umbrella flew off one of the tables. No one was hurt but they should be more cautious
I’ve been there twice, once upstairs in the sports bar/restaurant area and once downstairs in the main dining room. The food was great both times. Most recently we were downstairs in the main dining room. The area is nicely decorated and more upscale than the sports bar. It was a Saturday at 7pm and every seat both inside and outside was full, which explains why the service was a bit slower than expected. The main issue was that the ceiling over the main dining room is two stories and is open to the sports bar above. During busy times, the noise from upstairs echos down to the first floor, making it almost uncomfortably loud in the main dining room. Despite this, I would still recommend Scotch Plains Tavern and I will return.
was crowded but the waitress was attentive and quick with our orders
Fun place to go. Good food, service, and even live music. Best steamed mussels I’ve ever had. We sat upstairs and would definitely recommend.
Ourvwdd as inter wad great!
Dillon was his name I think.
Sweet fries a bit over cooked.
Berrata blt was great
Wonderful listening to live music again. Food is good; service is slow and in attentive.
Upon entering the establishment, I was greeted with a friendly, welcoming smile. Our table was perfect, high top on the 2nd level.
Our waiter was knowledgable of the menu and was able to describe in detail the specials. The food was delicious, so fresh.
I look forward to coming back again when the weather is a little warmer, then we could sit outside.
The food was well prepared and of good quality, reasonably priced, and the service was great. It is a great location and the Mass Confusion Band was the icing on a well made cake.
Love this place, food is great, ambiance is even better. Rustic
They’re doing a great job! Loved our experience. Live music upstairs so we were happy to be seated downstairs. Attentive and wonderful server.
Everyone serving was upbeat, prompt and helpful. The menu had a good array of options and it was nice to get a draft beer that wasn't served in a can for a change. We'll be back.
Beautiful remodel and food was excellent. Complied with all Covid requirements and they do have outdoor seating but wish there was more.
Our waiter was fantastic, hostess very friendly, nice place! Ordered chicken dumplings and fish taco, burger, and half and half sandwich. Sandwich and burger were very good, fish taco seemed to have stale tortilla wraps. Chicken dumplings were tasty but a little overcooked Overall a good experience. cider was phenomenal!
Hadn’t been since covid, extremely great service, food, and safety precautions.
We go to Scotch Plains quite often in the summer months as we keep our boat a nearby marina. However, this time we came in March as my daughter wanted to come for her 18th birthday. There was really too much wrong this night, from bad service to the clueless waitress to the cold food. I'm sorry, but you need to get better staff as we were so sadly disappointed.
Hair in 2 dishes and bad service as well. Went out for a birthday and only had one round of drinks cause waitress never came around.
Perfect time. The food was great. Our server Leslie was super!! And the band Java Groove was awesome!! Definitely coming back.
We missed Restaurant Week because I broke my arm on our day. We went back to celebrate making it through surgery. The food was fabulous and the establishment is absolutely lovely. We enjoy everything about the experience, from great beer choices to fabulous food! We can hardly wait to go again!
