We were a group of 10 old friends and really liked this restaurant's relaxed ambiance and not being rushed. The salads were very tasty and there were a wide variety of lunch choices. Unfortunately, the food came out over a 20 minute period so that some people were on their main course while others had just gotten their salads. And three people ordered the same fish dish, which was overcooked and chewy. They would have said something to our server if we could have gotten his attention. The staff was very friendly, I just think they could use a bit more training. I would give Scopa another chance because it's hard to find a place big enough to fit a large group without being rushed.
Enjoyed the food, the pasta was very good, we sampled some appys, wild boar with polenta was great!! the house wine reasonably priced, just fair.
I went for brunch with my girlfriend, we tried ravioli and pappardelle pasta. Good quality pasta, they make it in house. Fairly priced. Ambiance is chic with jazz music in the background
Excellent Service No Wait time Absolutely delicious food A must Go again
Service was very slow, the food was very good and overall good value.
Very poor service. Food took almost 90 min to get to the table even though other tables received theirs. No accepting of responsibility or attempt at mitigation.
Arrived an hour early after theater ended st 4:30pm last Saturday for our cousin’s birthday. The place was empty and we sat at the bar since it was too early for dinner. Enjoyed a few drinks and at 5:30 asked the hostess to seat us. For an annoying reason she took us to a table right by the serving station (sub-par table) even though the restaurant was pretty empty. We asked for another table and she was quick to oblige us. I don’t understand why she did that- offer the worst table first even though we had a reservation and the place was empty... well the food was AWESOME and service was pretty good (they didn’t bring us bread and the entree came out too quickly.. The waiter could’ve been more attentive- He ignored my request for water and was a bit derogatory 😕 but he did decorate the dessert dish with Happy Birthday and a candle). His assistant was great! Attentive, quick and very hard working. Regardless of the minor negatives, we had a great time!! The restaurant was packed by 7pm and they did not pressure us to leave. Hugs plus. Overall a lovely experience.
25th birthday for my son. Everything was great! The space is great, very comfortable. Food was good, service excellent. No complaints, we will go back.
The food was delicious (Brazino was cooked perfectly).
So I tried Scopa and it was a complete disappointment. To start the drinks in special were not all available (no Sangria or Bellini). Admittedly, the wait staff did run out to buy ingredients to no avail. The wait staff were very pleasant and put in a bad position to deliver bad news. The venue was fine. For my food, the asparagus was over cooked ( bitter and crunchy). The prosciutto was far to salty. My guests enjoyed their meals. The dessert was forget On the plus side, the poached eggs were well cooked (runny). Will I go again? No.
My family enjoyed dinner at Scopa and it was some of the best Italian food we’ve ever had. The gnocchi was spectacular and our daughter ordered a simple rigatoni with a creamy white wine sauce that wasn’t even on the menu and they brought her out what may have been the best tasting pasta dish any of us had ever had. We were able to personally commend the chef, and would highly recommend Scopa. Truly fantastic.
My husband and I had Thanksgiving dinner (just the two of us) at Scopa. It was our first time at the restaurant. The menu appealed to us, and we liked that the tables were spaced out nicely. There was music playing a bit too loudly for our taste. The noise level was already high, and had the music played in the background, that would have worked. So we requested that they turn down the music, which they did, and that was better.
The Thanksgiving meal was a pre fix. We both had the Caesar salad, which was very good. Then the main course of turkey came out, and after a moment, I realized that the stuffing was missing. The recipe for the stuffing had looked wonderful, so I was chagrined that there was none— only turkey and mashed potatoes. I inquired about this to two different waiters who did not seem to know anything about it, but eventually, they sent the manager over, who went into the kitchen, inquired, and returned, saying that I was correct, and brought out the stuffing.
The service was very friendly, but did not seem knowledgeable about the meal they were serving.
I think this restaurant caters to families since I did not see many tables for two. . It seems like a nice restaurant to go to for a casual meal, but does not strike me as very special in any way.
We had a great Thanksgiving Dinner, it was tasty, friendly service, very nice location. We would definitely come again!
I was told that the cauliflower soup was only pureed cauliflower and nothing else! It sounded wrong to me but was assured. After eating it and thinking it tasted like potato, I called the mgr over to ask again. He went to the kitch and told me it was Cauliflower and potatoes!! I do not eat potato! Also I ordered a pork chop and got this big hunk of meat on a strange bone instead of the traditional pork chop i wanted. The mgr did take off the chop but said he was going to give us all desserts. We got one and paid for coffee. I wont be back
Great food and service -wonderful table in a quiet area - we were not rushed - great place!!
Great bartender server at Sunday brunch
The food was delicious, the service warm and friendly, and very reasonably priced.
Food was so good especially the pork belly Crostini. That was off the hook. Tagliatelle pasta with bolognese sauce was so yummy
Food was delicious. Service was a little slow.
My husband and I just had dinner at Scopa for the first time. The food was quite good. We had the Papardelle with Meat Sauce and the Lamb Shank. The service was a bit of a mixed bag even though it was a slow night. We really liked the ambiance. A good addition to the neighborhood. We will be back.
I went to Scopa and I loved visiting that place. I havent gone to a place like that in the area. Service was amazing. I really liked the concept of the restaurant, it's elegant and modern. Food DELICIOUS! Terrific experience. Grilled rib eye steak was my main course, 100% recommended.
I reserved a table for 6 & 2 friends came earlier than me & they were seated behind the curtains. It was good at 1st because the crowd that night was loud & we were isolated so we were able to chat, but it was so hot back there. Then, our waiter never came back after getting our orders. He apologized towards the end, before we paid. We were near the kitchen so we saw a lot of waiters but it was so hard to get their attention. The food is good but I won’t be back because of the service.
The food was so good and very clean. None of the dishes were only..the perfect Italian meal.
The restaurant was clearly understaffed. It took forever to order wine and appetizers, and we were only successful when we hailed one of the busboys to go find our waiter. Then, our main courses were delivered while we were still eating our appetizers. No apologies were given, the food was just dumped on our table. No Parmesan was offered for the pasta dishes. We did speak to a manager at this point, but the lack of attention continued. We finally received desert menus after another long wait, but gave up at that point and just asked for our bill. No concession was offered for the poor service. We will not be back.
We were a group of 9 family getting together for dinner. The location is perfect for getting in and out of the city since we come from all over to be together. The food, atmosphere and service were excellent. We were particularly happy to be able to hear one another even though the restaurant was very busy!!! We will be back!
Service was terrible. The busses provided better care to our table then our server. He never asked how any of our courses were and the busier halfway through our main course asked if we wanted Parmesan. Food was average and poor service made it even worse.
This was a perfect place for dinner on a rainy Friday night and I felt so bad half my party canceled at the last minute but they were very nice about it. And I’m glad to say the food is definitely above average.
We enjoyed our entire experience . The service was wonderful and the food delicious. Hope to get back here many times when we visit New York.
One appetizer was good, one wasn't. One entree was good, the other way too salty. The waiter directed all of his conversation to the man at the table (the woman was a senior executive at a major public company and dressed accordingly). Won't rush back.
We were a party of 9 for Sunday brunch. There was only three other tables at that time. Our waiter did not put in one of our pasta orders. So that person had to wait another 15 minutes for their dish while everyone was finishing theirs. When it came time for dessert, one of us ordered cheesecake. After everyone else got their desserts and coffee, the waiter told us there was no more cheesecake. All in all the food itself was good. But the service was not.
Was looking for a place for a group of 11 on a Saturday night in NYC. Happened upon this place and was able to make a reservation. Turned out it was great. We able to seat us all very comfortably. Menu was good, wine list was good and it was quiet enough for good conversations even though it was a big table. I would go back. Nice place.
The food here is really good. The staff is friendly and welcoming. It feels like being invited to someone's home for a meal and that's a great thing. The shrimp scampi meal was awesome, and their appetizer selections are great as well. For dessert, try the cheesecake, it's worth every penny.
Great food. Very attentive service. Lots of personal space at each table.
Our group of five had a great meal at Scopa! The food and service were just what we wanted. We all love Italian food and the chef created some delicious specials. Well work going and I would go back again!
We had a great brunch...I had the mushroom omelette and asked to change the cheese to spinach..they had no problem with it and the mushrooms were fresh, not canned like many other breakfast places. My son had the pancakes and they were delicious...and not sweet. Highly recommend it.
we enjoyed our meal and the service. there were a few little hiccups like my shrimp and broccoli were overcooked in the pasta dish, but my husbands shrimp were perfectly cooked.
We did tell the manager who was nice enough to check in with us through out the meal, as did our attentive waiter. A beautiful large room, and a very lively bar.
We met friends for dinner before a concert at MSG. The food was excellent especially the calamari and the pasta with the ragu sauce. I would definitely go back
The staff at this restaurant couldn't have been nicer. Our waiter, Mohammed, was professional and fun. The hostess was very accommodating and pleasant. The food was good Italian food. A fun evening with a friend.
Drinks are good. Service as well. Portion sizes were pretty small for pasta dishes. But the meal tasted good.
Needed a restaurant within a certain location for 8+ people. This place was available, menu looked good & fair prices. We added more people at the last minute & they had no issues. Nice decor except low lighting. Food very good. They brought everything out in a timely fashion without rushing us out, as we were there late. You did not feel overcrowded with too many tables. Pleasant staff. Will go back again!
